Seeing Iruka leave, Kingpin took out an envelope and placed it on the table. He then spoke, "Charles, this is your final payment."
Charles Doyle picked up the envelope and found a Swiss bank card inside, with a password written on the back.
Kingpin continued, "Inside the card is the remaining payment for the commissioned task, totaling one billion US dollars. You can access it anytime."
Charles smiled and pocketed the card, saying, "If you ever have another task like this, remember to contact me."
Kingpin chuckled, "Charles, a two-billion-dollar commission task is not something I can afford more than a few times."
Charles picked up a glass from the table and proposed a toast, "Let's celebrate the perfect completion of the mission. Cheers, everyone."
Kingpin and Bullseye also raised their glasses and took a sip.
Kingpin put down his glass and looked at Charles Doyle, then slowly said, "Charles, the Hand has been eliminated, and their factory business is now up for grabs. Are you interested?"
Hearing Kingpin mention Madame Gao's blind factory, Charles Doyle shook his head and replied, "Kingpin, you know me well. I'm not interested in those businesses."
Kingpin wasn't surprised by Charles's refusal and continued, "What about Hell's Kitchen?"
As Kingpin's words fell, the air in the lounge seemed to freeze.
Kingpin stared at Charles's expression, wanting to know if this man was interested in Hell's Kitchen.
Charles leaned back in his chair, propped himself up, and slowly said, "Kingpin, I'm not interested in Hell's Kitchen. It's chaotic and lawless."
"Although your presence has made the gangs in Hell's Kitchen more restrained, we can't deny that it's still the most chaotic neighborhood in all of New York."
"I'm not very interested in managing gangs. Otherwise, my territory, under the High Table, wouldn't just be limited to the United States."
Upon hearing Charles say he wasn't interested, Kingpin didn't detect any falsehood on his face and breathed a sigh of relief.
"But."
As Charles said the word "but," Kingpin's recently relaxed heart tensed up again.
Charles continued, "But, I might need a few of the buildings in Hell's Kitchen. I'm looking for something."
"When the time comes, if High Table's people appear in Hell's Kitchen, I hope you won't misunderstand."
Kingpin smiled and said, "No problem. I don't know what buildings you need, but if they're in my name, I can make the decision and give them to you."
Charles shook his head and said, "I might need one building, or it could be three. I'm not sure yet, but the ownership of the buildings has nothing to do with you."
Upon hearing that the property was not under his name, Kingpin didn't insist on giving it away. Instead, he said, "Then I wish you luck in finding your belongings."
With those words, Kingpin raised his glass once again.
Seeing Kingpin raise his glass, Charles also picked up his whiskey glass and said, "Thank you!"
After the three of them finished their whiskey, Kingpin and Bullseye got up to leave.
Watching Kingpin leave, Charles Doyle didn't get up to see him off. Instead, he remained seated in the lounge.
Charles took out his phone and dialed a number, then said directly, "Ginny, the money is in place. Now, start the acquisition of the first unfinished building."
"I hope to successfully acquire the building from Rand Corporation as quickly as possible and start the excavation immediately."
"If there's nothing I need beneath the first building, we'll start the acquisition of the second apartment building right away."
After giving instructions to his secretary, Charles Doyle poured himself another glass of whiskey. Just as he was about to raise the glass, Iruka appeared by his side and said, " Lord Charles, Mr. Coulson from the FBI has come again."
FBI? Charles was a bit surprised at first, but then he realized it was Phil Coulson from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division.
"Iruka, remove the two glasses on the table and bring him over," Charles said.
"Of course, Lord Charles." Iruka approached, cleared the two used whiskey glasses from the table, and then led Phil Coulson over.
Phil Coulson sat down in the chair opposite Charles, the same chair that Kingpin had just occupied. He looked at Charles, his face bearing a friendly smile, and said, "Mr. Charles, I need to discuss some details about your successful rescue of Tony Stark and his escape."
Charles looked at Coulson and asked in return, "Shouldn't you be talking to Tony Stark about this? He's the main character in this matter, and I believe you can get more accurate information from him."
"Besides, this matter shouldn't fall under the jurisdiction of the FBI."
Upon hearing Charles's response, Coulson took out a business card and placed it on the table, sliding it toward Charles. He then said, "I am Agent Coulson, with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division."
"Our division specializes in cases like Tony Stark's, so we need to gather some information. I hope you can cooperate."
Charles picked up the business card from the table and glanced at it. The back of the card had a unique mark.
After putting down the card, Charles said, "Your agency has such a long and unwieldy name. Have you ever considered simplifying it?"
Coulson smiled and replied, "We've already simplified it. I believe the next time we meet, Mr. Charles, you'll see our latest name."
"No, I don't want to meet you special agents again."
Charles teased Coulson, saying, "Last time I remember, you were an FBI special agent. How did you become a special agent with the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division? Did you change jobs, or is this something you made up?"
Though Charles's words were teasing, Coulson remained composed, but there was a hint of embarrassment in his heart.
He then placed his FBI credentials on the table and said, "Mr. Charles, our department is quite special. We handle special cases and sometimes use FBI connections to work on domestic matters."
Seeing Coulson take out his FBI credentials, Charles couldn't help but sigh inwardly, "FBI is really unfortunate, always being impersonated."
