Iris frowned. She pouted her lips when Cane whispered into her ear, as he told her where the body of Prince Vemion was.
She then tilted her head and stared at him in disbelief as she said in annoyance. "You know I am deaf, right?"
Mirth danced in those dark eyes of his as a small smile tugged up the corners of Cane's lips when he heard her protest. "I know," he said curtly.
"Are you playing with me?" Iris narrowed her eyes at him, but he simply brushed her bangs and stood up.
"Let's go, we will have dinner with Alpha Gill." Cane took Iris' hand. She looked reluctant to have dinner with Alpha Gill. She didn't even want to be near him whatsoever.
Cane could see that, but he couldn't cater to her every need. Iris should learn how to fight her discomfort because just like what he had told and showed her, their road ahead would be filled with much worse than just some discomfort, thus she needed to figure out how to face her own crisis.
