Chapter 33: The Soldier

It was a moment of weakness, allowing Kano to take over him that way. However, it was one that he had been fighting for a long time. His paws dug into the earth, ripping up the ground with each mighty step. The wind rushed around him, soothing him in the way that only running could. Nothing could compare to it.

Well... that wasn't entirely true. There was one other thing that did compare. Feeling Nora's body writhing beneath his, feeling the way she reacted to his touch, hearing the sounds he could elicit from her... it was when he felt most powerful, and most at peace. If he could, he would spend the rest of eternity buried inside her. At least until she rejected him.

When Dante surfaced to take in their surroundings, he could only laugh. Kano had brought them to Quail Briar Woods. Specifically, to the wisteria tree that Nora and he had rendezvoused at.
