Athena's Pov:
Athena had never met her father but had always hated him with a passion. See Athena wasn't just anybody's child, she was the rogue king and lost princess' daughter. Her mother Liz was the werewolf king's only daughter and heir but when it turned out the rogue king was her mate she ran away for what she thought was a chance at true love.
Little did she know she gave her nearly "perfect" life up for an abusive man. I mean being a princess was never easy but it wasn't nearly as difficult as being the rogue king's mate. The rogue king was loyal to only himself but he was smart enough to know he couldn't live without Liz nearby. Upon Liz finding out she was pregnant with Athena Liz decided it was time to run. She was shunned by the royal family when she decided to run away, so she couldn't return to her family or home. Within her travels, after leaving the rogue king a small pack in Scotland took Liz in before she gave birth to Athena.
Once she gave birth to Athena, Liz vowed to never let the rogue king find out about their daughter due to the fear of him abusing Athena the same way he did his own mate. One day when Athena was about 10 years of age she and Liz were strolling through the woods when they were suddenly surrounded by an "army" of rogues. Not just any rogues though but the rogue kings most trusted. Liz recognized some of the rogues as they were the same ones her mate had assigned to watch over her before she ran. She knew by now that he had found out about Athena so she told Athena to run and tried to fight the army off but in return was murdered.
Athena spent her life on the run but made it her goal to get to the US because she knew her father wouldn't ever think to look for her there. Athena spent the next 8 years roaming throughout the US always careful to never set foot or paw on the claimed territory.
One day angry rogues attacked Athena and while she was running for her life she and her wolf decided to act impulsively. When she gained control back instantly Athena knew her life couldn't continue like this. Acting on impulse and courage the surprising events that took place next in Athena's life surprised her more than anything else. Had she made a mistake or the best-worst decision of her life?
