"Your Majesty, the royal physician is here, should he...."

"Send him in immediately, why do you have to take permission first"

I roared loudly at the royal guard who just barged in, can't he read the atmosphere, he is supposed to let him in without waiting for me to grant him access to the royal chamber.

"Greetings your majesty, where is the Beta"

The royal physician greeted when he came in. I went outside the room to talk to him, leaving Mato alone with the healer(royal physician apprentice) .

"Go inside, your apprentice os already sewing him up, just check him up and tell me how he is and why he wouldn't stop bleeding, call me when you are done"

I said to him, he nodded and responded.

"Yes, your majesty"

He went into the room to check him but was taking time to come out, I waited for a while, but they didn't call me in so I barged into the room to see for myself.

"Your majesty, you shouldn't be I here, his con...."

"How is he"

I ignored his statement purposely, he shouldn't be telling me that, it's my palace and I can be wherever I want to be.

"He lost a lot of blood, he is gravely injured ,the worst is that he is not healing... And .. Also, he was poisoned by the shades"

"What.."

When was he poisoned, I was with him through the war, they didn't take him away so how was he poisoned.

"Yes,your majesty, he was indeed poisoned"

"How was he poisoned, is it a deadly one"

I was shocked, when did they manage to poison him or did they poison their weapons, that's most likely the case.

"It is not a deadly poison, your majesty"

I heaved a sign of relief when I heard what the royal physician said, I can't imagine the pain he would go through if it was a deadly poison, no wonder he wasn't healing. But my relief didn't last, as it was washed away instantly by the royal physician next sentence.

"It is not a deadly poison but a rare poison, a very rare one at that, I don't have the antidote to the poison."

"Then go find the antidote, or make one"

I find it ridiculous, he don't have the antidote, that's simple, find it or make one, after all he is the famous royal physician known for his efficiency, it wouldn't be hard for him to make one. I reassured myself, desperately want to believe that he could find the antidote and save Mato, but my luck is not too good .

"Like i said, your majesty, the poison is rare, so is the antidote, the ingredients needed to make the antidote has almost gone extinct and the poison kills fast, within a spam of three days, if not given the antidote, he might lose all his powers forever even if the antidote is later administed to him or worst still he might lose his life"

The royal physician words is just too hard for me to accept

"What do we do now, how do i begin searching for the antidote"

I didn't see this coming, so the vampires planned this long ago, to kill my Beta, they had they eyes in him since, they decided to use this war to poison him with such a rare poison, no wonder they went straight to my beta when he got there, I was so focused on killing the vampire prince that I didn't realize something was off, the shades never leave prince Tlyer to fight with me alone no matter what, they left him now to implement their plan from the beginning.

Am going to kill them. i muttered to myself, especially that prince Tlyer am going to kill him and feed his body to the ventures . I Was so enraged that I didn't realize the royal physician was saying something.

"Your majesty, you need to calm down, this can't be solved by your anger, you need to pull yourself together, you should know that...."

"Did I say am angry, you idiot"

I roared at him, as it is my head is already in a mess right now anx here he I telling me to calm down like am angry in the first place.

"Your majesty, you need to hear me out, the poison is spreading all over his body at a very fast rate, I have to suppress the poison in his body now or else, he might be dead in three days, that I asked much as you.."

"You already said all these before, so what is it that we have to do, how do we get the antidote of the poison that will cure him finally"

I interrupted him impatiently.

"Your majesty, where is the priestess, she spoke of the Heliumatine flower before, I think she has It in her possession"

"What is this Heliumatine flower all about"

I asked him again, "i have never heard of the name Heliumatine before, i never knew it existed"

"It is a special kind of flower, to the ordinary people, it might seem insignificant but to is healers, it is  like a life, it has the ability to restore a person's life at a dying minute and also it is very rare, it can only be found in the human realm"

He answered.

"So how will this help"

I asked him confused on what we need the flower for.

"I will make the antidote of this rare poison with it, it will be able to cure the poison"

I looked at him bewildered, that easy, then why was he making a fuse earlier on, I will just go find the priestess, problem solved. But his next words made me want to spit out blood.

"I will make the antidote of this rare poison with this Heliumatine flower and I also need a medecinal herb called the eye of the earth, it is very rare and has almost gone extinct, with the flower and this medicinal herb, I can cure him without fearing any repercussions."

I glared at him, why is I that he don't know how to complete his sentence, always speaking halfway.

"Another extinct herb, where can we get the herb, do you know anybody that is in possession of it."

"That I do not know, your majesty, but all I know is that Beta Mato can't hold on for more than two months after I suppress the poison"
