During the reign of evil Alpha Hok Tarium, a prophecy was told about a child who would be born into the kingdom. A child who would end the Tarium's reign and his bloodline. Afraid that this prophecy might come to pass, Alpha Tarium kills every infant in the pack but a child was mistakenly spared and saved by an archer who escaped with the baby to the human world. The child was named; Bloyd. When 22 years later, The new Alpha, a descendant of Alpha Tarium; Alpha Alcot, gets mistakenly mated to a girl from the human world, no one has the slightest idea that this was the same child that was saved by an archer and trained as an assassin to take revenge on the Alpha. What would happen when the ruthless Alpha Alcot falls in love with Bloyd, only to find out that his Luna is in fact, an assassin, destined to end his bloodline? Can love prevail and save them from this impending doom?
Alcot's pov
It was almost 12am and the mating ceremony was ready to officially begin. The open field where the ceremony was taking place was filled with people. Both high breed wolves and low breeds were allowed to attend this special event. Especially as one that sought to unify the two greatest packs in the whole of the realm. I glanced at the excited face of Willow who was seated beside me, looking all royal and dolled up. Did she even know this union was not one bore out of love but of power and ambitions? Or was she just too daft and stupid not to let herself see that?
I looked away from Willow and kept my eyes on the gathering for Arabella, wondering what was taking her so long to come back from the human world. It annoyed me whenever she took this late to come back home. Again, I blamed my mother for choosing where Arabella gets to school. We had the best of schools in the realm. Why would she decide to let Arabella school in the human realm and risk her getting in contact with those feeble, overly inquisitive humans? I tried my best not to allow the thought of my narcissistic mother ruin my night.
Once the clock struck 12 am, the mating ritual officially began. Witch Sia drew a large circle in the middle of the gathering and beckoned on me to step into the circle. I did as she instructed and stepped into the circle, waiting patiently for her next actions. She chanted some incantations and struck her machete to the space in the circle, creating a blue and green flow of light mist. So far I knew, once Willow steps into the mist Sia had created, we would automatically get mated and sealed by the moon goddess. I waited for that moment, never letting the thought that I was getting mated to a girl I didn't have any feelings for get to me.
Witch Sia chanted some more incantations and the mist thickened. She raised her gaze to meet mine, her old wrinkled eyes asking for permission.
"Once the girl steps into this mist, you will automatically get mated by the moon goddess and your heart shall become one. Permission to proceed, my Lord."
"Proceed." I commanded her and she turned her eyes to Willow now.
"My lady."
With her smile never fading off for a moment, Willow walked carefully and in a grace like manner towards the circle where I was standing and waiting, getting a little bit impatient this time. I couldn't wait for this to be over just as soon as it started.
If only I knew that was just the beginning. If only I knew the gods had something else planned for the night.
Bright lights suddenly shone from above and all of us raised our eyes to see what had caused such bright overhead light, only to see my sister falling out of a portal and landing on the ground beside Willow.
"Ouch, my back hurts. Ouch." She whined as she struggled to get off the ground where she had landed. My brows knitted together in a frown as I stared at her awkward appearance. But I had made the mistake of staring at my silly sister for too long to notice what was happening in the circle where I was standing.
"By the gods!" Witch Sia let out a gasp and I noticed how her eyes were glued to the spot in the circle where I stood. The rest of the gathering gasped in shock and murmured as their eyes stayed locked to the same spot Witch Sia was staring at. Confused, I looked down and my own eyes slowly flared open at the sight in front of me. An abominable sight.
In the mist created for my mate was a young girl lying on her back, panting from the fall. The mist circled her and played around her body, taking its cause.
"No. No. No. No. This is wrong! No!" Witch Sia cried and tried to pull the girl out of the mist but the mist had already created a barrier and pushed Sia back with so much force that almost caused her to lose her balance and fall.
"No!" She cried again while I watched helplessly at the mistake of the gods. This stranger girl…whoever she is, the gods were mating her with me. She had mistakenly fallen into the mist and was getting mated to me.
"Fuck!" I cursed and tried to step out of the circle but my feet felt rooted to the ground by an invincible force that wouldn't let me budge.
"Stop this at once, Sia!" I turned my head towards Sia for help but the helpless look on her face was enough for a response. Her hands were tied. The gods were doing their bidding and no force in the world could stop that. Willow rushed to the circle now and tried to pull the girl out too but the mist pushed her away with so much force that flung her carelessly to the ground.
The next second, the mist slowly died down, allowing me to finally see the face of the girl. She struggled to get on her feet and as she finally got her balance and stood in front of me, I could see her face properly now. And that moment, I felt my heart stop beating for a second. It was not because of her beautiful face. It was because of those eyes.
Those hazel eyes that had caused my heart to flutter wildly when I was a boy. It was those same hazel eyes that were causing my heart to suddenly feel warm and beat faster now that I was a full grown man.
The hazel eyed girl was now my mate. My accidental mate.
