~~~(POV: Durado)~~~
The next place I should go for information regarding Teller-Bravo is the bounty hunter headquarters. There are a lot of people there that can tell things I'll need to know. I head outside my apartment and towards the spaceport.
The spaceport is extremely busy, with all the players getting their hands on ships. The number of players leaving Empyrian is rising too.
Everyone's getting the last things they need before going out on their great big adventures. I walk towards the spaceport, and the closer I get, the number of people increases. The foot traffic for the players is pretty crazy, and it's a little hard to walk around.
Eventually, I make it into the actual spaceport, and I head for the bounty hunter's HQ. There are bounty hunter HQ all over the universe.
This is a local HQ for the system. The Impyra galaxy is full of bounty hunter HQ, so we always have a way to communicate and hunt our targets. Once inside the HQ, I look straight at the door leading into the back area. I make my way towards it, and nobody bothers me.
My reputation allows me certain niceties, and being left alone in the majority of places is one of them. The guard at the door doesn't even bother to stop me from knowing who I am.
I walk through the door and navigate the halls. There are rooms from time to time. All of them are basically private areas we can speak to people alone and without any interruptions.
All of them are secure connections, so no one has any problems with nosy inflitrators. I make my way towards the room I've exclusively paid for, and no one else is allowed in. I enter it, and the room is a nice size. There is a circular chair surrounding a large terminal.
One that projects holograms of small or giant size. I sit on the couch, and I call my contact.
After a few seconds, a woman pops up above the terminal as she's being projected by a hologram. "Well, if it ain't Durado. The last time we spoke, you were saving my ass from Ulsima Corporation. That means you are finally here to call in that favor, aren't you?" This is Kendra Flows.
She's a crossbreed between a human and a Lewcort. Lewcorts are incredible smart aliens that are great with numbers. Lewcorts are similar looking to humans.
The only major differences being eye colors and build. Lewcorts are taller and slender than the average human.
Ms. Kendra Flows here is taller than the average human woman at 6'1. She looks mostly human. She has a spiraling pattern in her eyes that is purple and white. Many consider her beautiful.
However, she likes women, meaning she's a lesbian. I don't care, though. She likes what she likes. "You're right, Kendra. I need your talents in regards to Teller-Bravo. You used to work there after all." That's the reason why Ulsima Corporation was after her.
After her contract ran out with Teller-Bravo and she wanted to part ways with Teller-Bravo, Ulsima Corporation tried to force her to work in their company.
She's looking at me with hesitation and fear. If there is one thing an ex-employee never does after leaving a top Corporation like Teller-Bravo, it's never to divulge in company secrets.
Let alone help uncover them, and she's smart enough to know that's what I'm after if I'm here. "I don't know, Durado... Crossing Teller-Bravo isn't something I want to do..." I squint my eyes and glare at her. She owes me, and she knows it.
Ulsima is a Corporation that is in a similar business as Teller-Bravo, but its main source of revenue is defense contracts for independent worlds.
She sighs and rubs the back of her neck. "All right, I make some calls and see if I can't get you into contact with someone on the inside.
This is the best I can do. I hope it's enough." I take a second, but I slowly nod my head and stop staring so hard. "I'll contact you via direct holo in 2 days. Until then, sit tight." Not like I have many choices. I hang up the holo call, and I stand up.
I make my way towards the exit and leave the back rooms. I head for the bar and sit down for a drink—time to unwind a bit.
