Chapter 89
Gerald's Suspicion
Amelia's POV
"Trevor?" Gerald called out to me as he moved closer. His face wrinkled, his eyes wide open as he slowly approached. Of all places, he wasn't expecting to see me in my room. Not after I had claimed I never knew me.
As I stood there, watching him approach. My heartbeat increased, and my breath sank inside my tummy. What do I tell him? How do I escape this time? I had to think of a way, and very fast. Ideas started running through my head; things I could do, things I could say.
But none of them were tangible enough to suit the situation at hand. Should I tell him that I had lied about not knowing Amelia? No, that would be too suspicious. Maybe I should tell him that I got to know her a few days back. No, that's not a good idea, he would find out I'm not being sincere.
I leaned on the door, my palms were behind me, holding the wooden surface of the door.
