Chapter 12 - Outfits for the Carnival.

Chapter 12

Watching Rei's reaction to her words, Holly realised that Rei might not have the required outfit. Holly thought for a while before running out of Rei's room and returning after a few minutes with some clothes in her hands.

"I happened to have two sets of orange-coloured outfits. I feel like wearing this long robe, you can wear this chest-high Ruqun, you have a really nice body shape, it should look really nice on you," said Holly as she displayed the two fancy outfits to Rei.

The outfit Holly recommends for Rei is a two-piece dress that consists of a red top and an orange-white gradient-coloured over chest six layers chiffon long skirt with elegant butterfly embroidery on the upper part. The long robe chosen by Holly is a light orange four-piece outfit that consists of a white inner top, a double layer light orange lower skirt, a red and black waistband and a light orange outer robe.

"Hmm... This dress looks pretty but... Isn't that outfit you chose a man's outfit?" Rei asked in a slight confusion.

"Well, yeah, it is indeed a man's outfit. I really like to dress up like a man but Dr Ben prohibited me from doing so saying that I would catch too much unwanted attention," said Holly, who sounds a bit salty when mentioning Ben.

"Ah, I see..."

As Holly mentioned Ben, Rei can't help but recall how Ben used to comment on her failed 'man's look'.

"Hmm... I guess it's not an easy thing for a lady to dress up like a man after all."

She thought.

"But it is quite late right now, the dragon beard candy stall is only open until noon time and has probably closed by now, let's wake up earlier tomorrow morning, I heard that there is a breakfast stall there that sells delicious noodles, let's have our breakfast there as well," said Holly who has kind of seen through Rei's thought.

"Eh? I didn't even mention anything about the dragon beard candy..." said Rei who is slightly surprised by Holly's words.

"Well, it's not that hard to guess," said Holly with a shrug before picking up her chopsticks and continuing with her lunch.

"Ah... This girl definitely shared lots of similarities with Dr Ben..." Rei murmured as she picked up her chopsticks as well...

The next morning.

After Holly helped Rei put on her outfits and did her hair, Holly went to another room for her own dress-up, leaving Rei alone to do her makeup by herself. As Rei stared at her own reflection in the mirror, she was overwhelmed by mixed feelings, she was amazed by how nicely fitted that outfit was on her but at the same time, she couldn't help but feel a dash of sadness, she couldn't remember how long it was since the last time she wore such a simple yet playful and fancy dress.

"But Holly has a really good taste though..."

She murmured as she agreed with Holly that the outfit looked good on her...

Ten minutes later, Rei got all her make-up done and was waiting for Holly to be done with hers. However, there isn't any sign of Holly for the next few minutes which makes Rei wonder what took her so long.

Then, another ten minutes passed and Holly finally returned to Rei's room with her complete makeover. Just as Rei was about to complain to Holly regarding the time she took for the makeover, she was stunned by Holly's look...

Rei always knew that Holly had a good look that was well hidden by her mediocre daily look, but she never expected Holly to look this good, especially in a man's outfit. With the light and the slightly airy long robe that fluttered along with the wind, Holly give the vibe of a handsome swordsman. Her hair which is always neatly bunned is now in a high ponytail with her long wavy hair draped down and fluttered in the wind giving a slightly dreamy look. And most importantly, unlike Rei's failed reverse gender look, Holly's look is a success. Although it is impossible for Holly to look like a masculine and manly man, she successfully turns herself into a pretty boy, and at the very least, no one would be able to recognise that she is female at first glance.

"Wow... Holly... Is that really you?" Rei asked in shock.

"Mhmm. Do you like my new look?" said Holly in a happy tone.

"Like it? I love it! Ah... I guess I can now understand why Dr Ben doesn't allow you to wear like this in public. With such a good look, you will definitely cause some great commotion." said Rei.

"Hmm... Are you trying to flatter me?" Holly asked, with a doubtful look.

"Nope. I am serious about it, if I were a stranger, I would have fallen in love with you," said Rei, who sounds slightly exaggerated.

However, Rei wasn't exaggerating. In Rei's opinion, Holly who was already an exceptional beauty with her daily boring dress up that clearly restricted her good look is now properly dressed up and finally put down that sleek bun hair which makes her look at least ten years older, it is undeniable that her good look has shoot up to whole new crazy level.

"Well... If that wasn't convincing enough... Hmm... Let's see... Ah... Right... If you were a man, you would be the third most handsome man I have ever seen in my life." said Rei after a short thought.

"I see... But why only third thou... Ah... Nevermind... I get it." Holly murmured

With no doubt, number one and two are the King and Ben...

After the two ladies were done with their dress-up, they went to the Fire Dragon Carnival in the town that is less than two kilometres away from Ben's farmhouse. As it is quite inconvenient for Rei to walk there on feet with her injury, they used a small cow cart as their transportation.

As Holly put Rei's wheelchair onto the ground and was about to reach her hands to Rei, she suddenly remembered something very important...
