Chapter 28.5 : Aftermath

As they stared at the skinless man in front of them, who was staring at them with a smile on his 'face', all eight men fell silent.

Well, except a single one.

"Sir, we are government officials of the Russian Federations, what reason do you and your forces ha-"

Halfway through the man's sentence, the tip of Mikhail's steel boot suddenly kicked at his face, causing him to fall to the ground.

Thankfully though, the man was already kneeling, and didn't fall too badly, but even so Mikhail's ruthless kick still made him feel somewhat dazed.

But even so, as his bare muscles pushed against his boots to kick the man, Mikhail felt a burst of extreme pain, causing him to slightly scowl.

As he had to live with it, Mikhail had already gotten a bit used to the pain which he felt when his flesh touched against his clothes.

After all, in essence, pain was merely the body warning the brain of a certain danger.

Thanks to his stand, had seemingly evolved to keep him alive, Mikhail could now control his muscles, which meant that his flesh touching with things was not an actual danger anymore.

Sadly, though, this did not mean that all the pain was gone, as upon doing actions that he had not done before, or was not used to doing, Mikhail still felt a burst of pain.

There was a silver lining though, as right now, Mikhail had several targets to vent his anger on, the people that caused his current state in the first place.

A moment later, Mikhail let out another kick to one of the men, causing him to feel a similar amount of pain, but even so, a smile appeared on Mikhail's face as he stared at the man, who was clutching his stomach with a pained look on his face, looking like he was almost dying.

"Don't fake it, I know how to control my strength very well, you are fine!!" said Mikhail before giving that same man another kick, causing him to suddenly no longer lay on the floor, having 'recovered'.

"None of you need to worry, all of you are necessary in maintaining the Russian government, none of you will die," said Mikhail as he looked at the men with a magnimonious look on his 'face', causing them to become more and more aware of their circumstances.

Best case scenario, the vampire had been killed, and some other people are coming here, desiring their positions.

Worst case scenario, the vampire had actually survived the nuclear blast.

Although the chance of that happening was originally tiny, as they looked at the man who did not have any sort of flesh, the eight men couldn't help but feel a foreboding feeling come over them.

Sadly though, the fears of the men would not prove to be unfounded, as after their use had been squeezed out of them, they had the worst fate in all of Russia, bearing the anger of public opinion, Diana, Mikhail, as well as any other person who had lost a loved one or relative or close friends in the attacks.

A single moment after realizing this fact, one of the men suddenly began moving, trying desperately to take his own life.

Unfortunately, though, he was not successful and was captured by Mikhail and placed in the possession of the soldiers that the latter had taken with him.

Even more unfortunately, because these soldiers were secretly under the command of Diana, many of them were part of the group that had lost a friend or relative in the nuclear attacks.

This meant that rather sadly, the hell of the man had begun a little bit earlier than that of the rest.

...

Over the next few months, a sweeping transformation was taking place in Russia, unseen and unheard of by the outside world.

If previously, a shadowy hand was controlling key figures within the country, right now, all pretenses had been dropped, at least to the informed observer, and all power began being quickly seized.

Of course, this was total invisible to the outside world, in fact, Russia seemed to have become even more democratic than before, many old entrenched politicians were voted out of office and replaced with new faces that had much better PR.

This did not mean that the transformation was bloodless, in fact, the opposite was true, although no official records showed these facts, in the past few months, every single crematorium in Russia was nearly always full and pumping new bodies in.

Furthermore, to not attract any sort of attention, some much more sensitive corpses had to be handled individually, so as to not attract attention from the outside world.

Of course, at the moment, this was much easier than usual, as a much larger event was currently taking place.

...

Because of an unfortunate gas explosion that had taken place inside the Dallas Headquarters of the Speedwagon foundation, Joseph Joestar, the chairman of the Foundation, as well as many of its senior staff, unfortunately perished, creating a large power vacuum within the foundation.

Originally, Joseph's descendants would have been able to inherit his large number of shares, which would have given them a large say in the operations of the foundation.

In the end, though, Joseph's final descendant actually died in the gas explosion, causing some trouble to emerge from the inheritance rights of his estate.

In the end though, after around one month of searching, the closest relative of the old man was finally found, and was able to inherit his large stake in the foundation.

Interestingly though, not soon after that, several more gas explosions happened at several Speedwagon foundation sites, which significantly culled the number of senior staff, allowing the inheritor, who had managed to become chairman thanks to her large percentage of shares, to better take control of the foundation.

Of course, some rumors say that these explosions were created to get rid of dissidents by the new chairman.

These rumors are completely unfounded and lack any sort of evidence.
