Meeting the others

The next morning, Nina awoke first. Shasha awoke a few minutes later. Both got ready with business clothes. Nina wore a dark purple suit with a black inner shirt. Shasha wore a pink blouse with ruffles and slacks. She wore her hair in a ponytail. They had a breakfast of toasted bread and cheese with some milk. They then set off in Nina's purple Lamborghini to the Mishima Zaibatsu. It was a long drive to the office. But at last they arrived. They entered the building and rode the elevator to the top floor where Jin's office was. They walked into his office only to find it crowded with many people. Jin's office was huge so it wasn't really a problem.

Jin walked in, wearing a dark grey suit. He motioned everyone to enter a door at the side of the room. Everyone entered and it was a huge meeting room. There was a name plate in front of each chair. Nina's seat was next to Jin's.

Shasha's seat was next to a Chinese girl wearing an orange sleeveless cheongsam with yellow outlines at the collar and gold outlines at the front. There were also black feathers lining her shoulder holes. She wore black leggings. She wore her hair in mid pigtails. At her other side, was a beautiful girl with half long and half short pink hair. She wore a pinafore with a white inner shirt.

"Hi it is a pleasure to meet you," said the pink haired girl, politely. "I am Alisa Bosconovitch. What is your name?"

"I'm Shasha," said Shasha. "It is nice to meet you too."

"Hey you new here?" asked the Chinese girl on her right. "I'm Ling Xiaoyu. You can call me Xiao. Nice to meet you."

"Hi Xiao," said Shasha. "I'm Shasha."

"Hello everyone," Jin said at the front. "We've gathered here today to tell you that the tournament will be held in a few months on 28th of August."

Shasha was happy at this news but at the same time upset. 28th August was her birthday! She didn't know what to do. She wanted to return to her country to celebrate. But the tournament was on her birthday. She looked glum at the rest of the meeting. Jin continued to talk about this and that but she didn't pay much attention. Xiaoyu was really engrossed at with Jin. She had an in-love expression on her face and was looking at Jin admiringly. Alisa on the other hand, listened attentively to what Jin was saying.

At last, the meeting ended. Everyone left the meeting room and went to the lounge next to Jin's office. Shasha went and sat at a sofa.

"Hi Shasha," said Alisa. "Why do you look sad?"

"It's the tournament," said Shasha. "It's held on my birthday..."

"Oh so your birthday is on  the 28th Of August?" asked Alisa.

"Yep," said Shasha. "I was planning to celebrate in my home country..."

"That's okay," said Alisa. "We'll celebrate with you after the tournament!"

"Thanks Alisa," said Shasha could you tell me more about the other contestants?"

"Sure. That girl is Lili De Rochefort," said Alisa, pointing to Lili. "She is the daughter of a wealthy oil tycoon from Monaco."

"Really? What about that lady over there?" asked Shasha pointing towards Anna. "She looks really flirty."

"Well, she is," said Alisa. "That's Anna Williams, Nina's sister."

"Wait that's Nina's sister?" asked Shasha. "They don't look alike in any way!"

"Yep and they don't get along too," said Alisa. "They have a strong sibling rivalry."

"Yeah Nina says she's annoying like Jerry from Tom and Jerry," said Shasha. "Who's that guy over there? He kinda looks like Nina."

"Oh that guy is Steve Fox," said Alisa. "He is the son of Nina. Her genes were used when she was in cyrosleep. Poor Steve, Nina never accepted him as a son."

"Oh my," said Shasha, speechless. "Well I guess it's because Nina never wanted a son but was forced to have one without her consent."

"Yeah I guess you're right," said Alisa. "The one who is to blame is Heihachi Mishima, Jin's grandfather."

"Wait is that a dinosaur in boxing gloves? asked Shasha, shocked. "And is that a female kangaroo in boxing gloves too with her child wearing them too?"

"Yes they are," said Alisa, giggling. "The dinosaur is Alex and the kangaroo is Roger Jr. with his mom."

"I thought dinosaurs were extinct?" asked Shasha. "Can he communicate with humans?"

"Apparently, yes he can," said Alisa. "His growls are understandable."

After that Alisa continued to tell Shasha about everyone else. Although Shasha heard everyone's names, she couldn't actually remember them properly. Shasha was thinking about what Alisa had said about Anna and Steve. Nina seems a bit lonely but she has got two other family members in the tournament. She felt like she had to do something about it. She felt like Nina needs family by her side. She went to Anna to introduce herself.

"Hi there I'm Shasha," said Shasha. "I'm new here. I wanted to introduce myself."

"Well hello there," said Anna. "I'm Anna Williams."

"It's nice to meet you Miss Williams," said Shasha. "I'm from Malaysia."

"Well well what do we have here," said a silver haired next to Anna, whipping out a rose from his coat. "A new girl in the tournament?"

"Uh... hello Mr...." said Shasha moving away, kinda disgusted by this older man's actions.

"I'm Lee Chaolan," he said. "Its a pleasure to meet you."

Shasha moved away and bumped into a girl with short brown hair. She was talking to a guy with an eyepatch.

"Hey watch where you're going," she said.

"Um... hello there," said Shasha. "I'm Shasha."

"Hi," said Asuka. "I'm Asuka Kazama."

"Are you a relative of Jin?" asked Shasha. "Both of you have the same last name."

"Well yes I guess," said Asuka. "But I don't like him one bit."

Shasha said nothing and continued to introduce herself to everyone else.

"Hi, I'm Shasha," she said to Steve. "I'm new here."

"Um.. hi," he said in a British accent. "I'm Steve Fox."

They both talked a bit and soon it was time to go back. Shasha left with Nina to her mansion. They talked in the car.

"So did you make much friends?" asked Nina. "I saw you talking to Alisa."

"Yeah she was nice," said Shasha. "I introduced myself with everyone. Is Anna related to you?" asked Shasha to see Nina's reaction.

"Yep she's my annoying sister," said Nina. "Who else did you meet?"

"Well I met Steve Fox," said Shasha. "He seems nice."

Nina said nothing. She was still feeling slightly guilty that she couldn't accept Steve as a mother.
