Chapter 8: Football competition

All this things got Kyle crazy and he was just walking around the room thinking of what to do next .

Kyle was just confused and had a lot to take in. He then went to meet Mirabel ,that was the only thing he could think of doing at the moment.

when Kyle got there,he explained everything that has happened, to Mirabel . She promised she would take care of the drug problem but she dosent know what to do about his elder brother.

Kyle's parents were already aware of the situation , because they both have been contacted .

Mirabel took Kyle out to a club later in the day. She did this to distract him from all this thoughts .

He spent the night at her place and early in the morning she took him home on her way to school .

Usually his mom dosent come home by that time , so Kyle didn't expect to meet her there .

she just stood at the door waiting for him to approach her.

Kyle's mom: so where are you coming from ?

Kyle: mom I am really not ready for this now.

Kyle's mom: You got shot and your brother got arrested this is what you think you should be doing to help .

Kyle: Mom! please.

Kyle's mom: I should have just left you with your dad , I guess that way you would have the proper access to do all this , because he is never around .

Kyle: mom! you too , there is no difference between you two . You are never around . When was the last time you asked me about my school .When was the last time you even had a conversation with me about anything .All you do is leave the house and come back anytime you want.

At this moment Kyle's mom went silent and there was tears all over Kyle's eyes .He walked into the house and prepared for school.

When Kyle got to school he saw the students at the field again.This time it looked more serious because there were professional officials and the crowd was even more .Kyle went to Trevor to confirm what was going on. It was the yearly football competition.

In this competition 8 schools were selected and a tie would be made 4 teams head to the semifinals and then the finals .

Kyle quickly ran to coach mike ,but he was asked to sit with the others on the bench.

Harvey high has never passed the first stage ,they always lose and get knocked out .The students weren't expecting something different they just waited for the bad results as usual .

30 minutes into the game it was a 0-0 draw, but the opposition team have already hit the crossbar 2 times .

The first half ended a draw ,and the players went to their coaches.

Coach Mike never wanted to put Kyle In the game, but it was obvious he needed Kyle so the second half Kyle was substituted into the game .

At 80 minutes it was still a 0-0 tie and no goals yet .

The magic happened at 87 minutes when Kyle dribbled passed 2 defenders and shot the ball into the net giving Harvey high the win to qualify to the semifinals for the first time in history.

You can imagine the joy the students had.The principal was so happy and personally invited Kyle to meet him.

Talks about kyle was everywhere in the school, and even outside the school.

After meeting with the principal he went to look for Mirabel but found Kath instead .

Kath said she saw Mirabel and Bryan walking towards the music hall.

Kyle quickly went there and to his surprise he saw Mirabel kissing Bryan .

This got him so angry and he left ,Mirabel chased after him but couldn't get to him.

Coach Mike met with Kyle and told him how impressed he was with his performance and told Kyle about the scouts that came to watch the football match and their comments on his performance.

Kyle went to meet his brother who was in custody. And told his brother everything that has happened ,he also promised to get him brother out .His brother just smiled and told him not to worry.

When Kyle got home he saw Mirabel standing at the side of her car.

Kyle: what are you doing here?

Mirabel : babe, please let me explain ,its not what you think .

Kyle: what do you have to explain.

Mirabel : I did that because it was the only way I could get him off your neck.

After I paid the money he requested I give him a kiss .

I refused but he said that will be the only way he will let you be .

Kyle: I guessed you had sex with him too,didn't he request for that as well.

Mirabel: Kyle, I love you and I would never do anything to hurt you.

Kyle: you dont love me , I think you just pity me .

Mirabel : No I do love you ,please let's just forget about this , I would make it up to you.

Kyle: How? by taking me to the club, buying me fancy cloths , you rich people always think everything is about money .

just leave me alone ,I don't want to see you anymore.

Kyle hurried into the house and shut the door,Mirabel stayed out for a while begging for him to come open the door.

After she left, Kyle went out to meet David and his friends in the basketball court.

The next day was the semi finals and as usual Kyle did not disappoint. He scored 2 goals and made an assist to give his team a 3-1 win and take them to the finals.

After the match the scouts approached Kyle and told him they would want him to come do a trial at their club .

This was the only good news Kyle had gotten in a long while .

Kath approached Kyle later and told him she didn't see Mirabel in school. This news didn't really affect Kyle ,because he has also promised not to get involve with her anymore .
