Tar Meets Tharn Again

"Tar?"

When he called my name like that, I felt my heart thumping inside my chest like a constant beating drum. His voice was the same but his expression was not how it used to be when we were once a loving couple.

I didn't expect much to begin with. I stood out here for a whole hour waiting to see him. I had plenty of time to think of what I wanted to say after so long, but it all flew out the window the moment I laid eyes on him. I can't believe that even now my heart reacts like this when he says my name.

"P'Tharn."

The moment I spoke, Lhong appeared like a comet. His gaze narrowed upon seeing my face. I could tell he wasn't pleased to see me. After all, I did make a promise never to step foot before Tharn ever again. If I did he would show Tharn the video he took of me back when Tharn and I was still together.

I won't care about his blackmail anymore. Just see what happens if he tries anything, I'm not afraid to bring him down with me!

Tharn was tense, it had been a while since he have seen the boy he loved out of all the guys he dated throughout the years. Why would he appear after all this time?

"Why are you here?" Tharn could feel his throat going dry.

Best thing here was to come up with an excuse. "I heard from a group of girls that you were in this class. I thought I would come by and say hi." I told him.

"You have some nerve. Didn't you break up? Did you think you were close enough to say hi to him?" Lhong snidely remarks.

Well, he's not wrong. But that doesn't mean I will be like the me in the past. If I had the chance to meet Tharn like this in the past. Just from that remark I would have ran away crying. It's too bad that I'm not so emotionally weak like before.

If I want to get evidence that Lhong was the reason for my breakup and expose his true nature, I will need Type's help. But right now, Type was homophobic due to having the same experience as me. So, he won't help unless that was solved.

"You're right. I did break up with him. But I'm only here to apologize. After I learned that we were attending the same college. I didn't want to leave things how they were."

It's not completely a lie.

"Lhong. I'll talk to him. No need to wait for me." Tharn says. One could tell that he would rather die than leave me alone with Tharn. There's nothing for him to worry about though, since if I reveal it here now, there would be no way Tharn would believe me over his life long friend.

I was led to an empty room close to the class he came out of. "Tar. Why? After all this time?"

I can understand his question. Even the pain that surfaced beyond his gaze. "It's just as I said. I wanted to apologize. Why else would I come seek you out?" I asked.

Honestly, it was a question I didn't expect him to answer.

Tharn's brows furrowed, "is it really just that? To apologize? What if I don't forgive you?" He asked.

"I never expected you to. I'm the one who chose to break things off with you. It's not like I deserve your forgiveness." I told him.

It was silent for a while. He seemed to be trying to read my facial expressions but I won't let him. My goal was to start over with him, even if it meant starting at the bottom as someone he's aware of. It's a good enough start for me.

"Alright. I accept your apology. After this, we should not have anything to do with each other anymore." He says.

"Yes. I agree. Then, if you'll excuse me."

That went a lot better than I imagined. For now, the seeds have been sowed.
