"I will just bite this delicate neck of yours and mark you. Then you won't ever escape me. You will stay with me forever." He moved closer to her neck. Athena struggled. " You can't do that! You can't mark me without my approval!" "Says who?" His cold red eyes stared into her big green eyes. Athena opened and closed her mouth. No sound came out. Fear danced in her eyes. The night was starless. Screams and howls could be heard. Blood splattered on the ground. A strong stench of blood wafted in the air.
A thin and frail girl stood not far away from this chaotic scene. Her bloodless lips curled up into a demonic smile and her purple eyes gleamed with delight as more blood was shed.
The ground was covered with huge cracks. Many black hideous monsters crawled out of the cracks and attacked everyone who was trying to run away. Their rotting bodies emitted a pungent smell. They had no eye balls and their eye sockets were hollow. They bared their yellowish huge canines at the poor people.
One of the monsters grabbed a woman and bit her head off. The girl laughed loudly. "You all deserve to die! How dare you disrespect your queen? Die!"
Thunder suddenly rumbled loudly and lightning flashed. Coupled with the crimson moon, everything became more eerie. Many people fell in the huge cracks. A few people attempted to run away but were unfortunately seen by the strange girl. With a snap of her fingers, the people were cut into halves and they rolled into the cracks. She laughed like she was out of her mind.
Her sickly pale face became more sinister. A woman crawled towards her with a five year old child in her arms. "Please have mercy, Your Highness. My child is innocent!" she cried.
The girl turned to look coldly at the woman, her eyes filled with disgust. " Innocent? Who says that he is innocent? He sinned the day he was born. His ancestors were all sinners. He deserves to die! All sinners deserve to die!"
With that, she grabbed the crying child from the mother and broke his neck. Her long finger nails dug into the child's neck.
Blood slowly seeped out. Soon her fingers were covered with blood. She turned to look at the frozen woman with a mocking smile.
The woman soon snapped out of her daze and screamed. "You monster! You killed my son!"
The girl smiled widely that her eyes narrowed until they were crescent shaped. She scoffed, "I did not know that vampires are so stupid."
This made the woman see red!
"I am going to kill you!" she bellowed and charged towards her.
The purple eyed girl scoffed. "So pathetic."
She kicked the woman casually but that kick sent the woman flying and she landed heavily on the ground far away from her. Blood covered the area she had landed.
The girl licked her bloody fingers as she stared at the bloody scene that was in front of her.
"Athena!" somebody shouted.
Her eyebrows furrowed and she turned to see a woman who looked almost like her except that she looked older and had tired green eyes...
"Who are you?" She asked coldly. The woman's clothes were torn and covered with blood. "It doesn't matter about who I am."
The woman said as she moved towards her before she stopped in front of her. " This is not what I wanted you to be. It's all my fault."
The purple eyed girl, Athena looked at her in confusion. The fire around her vanished. "Who are you? Why do you look like me?"
The woman did not say anything but smiled.
Athena thought hard and realized something. Her jaw dropped in disbelief.
"Mother?"
The woman nodded.
Athena froze. When she snapped out of her daze, the woman was gone.
"Mother?" She panicked. She looked around to just to see her newly found mother heading towards a huge crack.
"Where are you going mother?! Come back!"
Her mother turned to look at her with a sad smile. " We will meet soon Athena. Remember fate can be changed. Don't let it control you!"
With that, she jumped into the crack.
Athena screamed and dashed towards the crack. "No!"
She stumbled and fell. "Mother come back! Come back!"
The cracks slowly disappeared. All the hideous monsters vanished into thin air, leaving her all alone. It turned silent.
"Mother!" Athena screamed until her voice was hoarse. Her glowing purple eyes slowly turned green. "Come back!"
"Athena! Athena!"
She sat up quickly, her body drenched with cold sweat. She was breathing heavily. She coughed. Somebody patted her back. "It's okay. I am here for you." A soft voice rang in her ears.
Athena turned to look at her foster mother. She opened her mouth but no sound came out. Her foster mother passed her a glass of water and she drank it with one gulp.
"Is it that dream again?" Her foster mother asked softly. She nodded.
Rebecca, her foster mother sighed softly. "It's just a nightmare, sweetheart. Everything is going to be fine, okay?"
Athena nodded before coughing hard. Her sickly pale face turned paler by every passing minute.
Rebecca panicked. "Lie down, Athena. You should get some more rest. I will go and call the physician."
Athena nodded. Rebecca patted her hair and left. She watched her disappearing back with a complicated expression.
