Unexpected encounter

Since that day, Iris and Joshua have been in contact with each other every day. To the delight of Iris, but also of Joshua, who had become addicted to her flirty text messages. It almost became a habit for him to text her every night. He, who had closed his heart to all the women who had come to him since his last breakup, began to open it again.

Iris was very different from all the women he had been with. She was a strong woman, independent and passionate about what she had built. She was really funny and sweet, and after a day of talking to her, Joshua saw that she was no longer the cold and domineering woman everyone thought she was. On the contrary, she was a warm and considerate person, without prejudice or ego, even though she was filthy rich. She had never looked down on him or even disrespected him for who he was.

She respected his part-time jobs and did not intrude on his personal rhythm of life. She could use many means to get him, but she never crossed the line, she wanted him to be with her because he wanted it, and he knew that if he was with her, she would put him on the same level as her despite the great distance between them.

He liked how she calmed him down when they talked and gave him the advice he always needed. By talking this way every night, they got to know each other better, Joshua got an inkling of why Iris was so lonely, even if he did not know the whole story, and she learned a little about why he had so many part-time jobs.

Despite the clear rapprochement and closeness between the two, Joshua was still hesitant to meet Iris because he knew that once he saw her again, he would not be able to hold back, thus he was afraid.

But the plans that life had for them were clear, and one day what was supposed to happen happened.

Iris was at the hospital getting a checkup when she came across a scene she never could have imagined. Standing a metre in front of her was Joshua, but what caught her attention was the woman standing in front of him. The two seemed to be having a lively discussion. Iris was really curious about what was going on, she could guess who the woman was just by the way she was talking to Joshua and she didn't like it at all.

"What the hell are you doing here? I thought I made myself clear, I don't want to fucking see you anymore!!! Leave me alone!?" Joshua was obviously very angry, it was the first time Iris had ever seen him this angry. She wondered what the woman had done to touch his core.

"Oh my, you have really changed, um, you dare to talk to me like that, who do you think you are?" the woman mocked, looking at Joshua with angry eyes.

"You are so funny! Who do I think I am? The only man who had to make you beg for my cock! Isn't that why you are here? I already told you to get the fuck out of my life and never appear in front of my mother again!" Joshua spat out, he wanted to just kick her out but he knew he could not even touch her, she was the daughter of one of the shareholders of the hospital and she had used that identity often enough to treat him with contempt and mistreat him in their relationship, always threatening him with his mother's health.

"I think you have already forgotten that this hospital belongs to my father!" She smiled slightly and tried to touch him, but Joshua evaded her touch with a frown. He was fed up with her threats and could not be bothered now if he has to change hospitals he will, he could not let himself be used like that!

Just as he was about to tell her to go fuck herself a voice rang in his ears and made him pause, he stood there stunned as a flash of white entered his vision.

Iris forced her way violently into his world, wearing a beige knee-length jacket a white skirt and top plus a pair of white boots on her feet. She did not look like the sophisticated woman she was on her way to work; on the contrary, she seemed younger and a little playful. She had tied her long hair into braids that fell behind her, with two strands of hair to the left and right of her cheeks.

She stood in front of him, and even with her high-heeled Martin boots, she could only see his chin when she looked directly at him. Iris stood on her tiptoes and gently patted him on the shoulder.

"What are you doing here?" She tilted her head as she spoke and looked directly at Joshua, her green pupils reflecting his overwhelmed face. Seeing the ripples under his eyes, she smiled and said, "Is she giving you a hard time?" The soft voice had a magical power that calmed the anger in Joshua for no apparent reason, and the knot in his throat loosened as his gaze slid downward, feeling a little uncomfortable and wondering if she had overheard their entire conversation.

"Iris...", his throat was dry and constricted from the excessive tension, and he could not even pronounce a word clearly.

"Oh, so it's true, the people around you said you seem to have found someone new! Is she the one?" The woman interrupted Joshua and walked toward Iris, but Joshua instinctively stood in front of her as if to shield her.

But Iris was not the type to back away from anyone, and of course, this woman was no exception. She stepped in front of Joshua, but he again instinctively grabbed her hand. The slightly cool fingertips clasped her wrist, Iris unconsciously looked over and suddenly felt that the place where their skin touched was warm and she liked that feeling.

Joshua was led back by Iris at some distance from the woman. He wanted to hold her back, but he did not. There was nothing between them, and it was inappropriate to intentionally touch her the way he wanted to.

Iris did not ask about the girl, because she already knew the answer. She was clearly his ex-girlfriend, and their relationship seemed to have ended badly.

"So what would be the problem if he had a new girlfriend?" asked Iris nonchalantly to the woman.

"Well, that's no surprise, since he's a whore!!!" she taunted, eyeing Iris from head to toe, not recognising her, but she could see that she was wealthy.

Joshua could not stand the way she talked about him, and he disliked it even more because Iris was there.

"At least he knows how to throw things away that are not beneficial to his life," Iris crossed her arms as Joshua swallowed the words he was about to say as Iris uttered vicious words. He liked that!

"You...!"

"Yeah, what? If your life is too boring for you and if you can not find a man, please start first to ask yourself why? and don't come here and disturb my man! How can you be so childish and make a scene in the hospital?" Joshua's ears turned slightly red when he heard Iris call him his man and smile quietly behind her!

"I don't believe it anyway, he's never been seen with a woman since he left me!!" She scoffed and looked at Iris contemptuously.

"And so you think it's because I still have feelings for you?" Joshua asked with a ridiculed look on his face.

"Please wake up from your dream! I mean, look at yourself! Do you think you can compare yourself to her? Like I'm an idiot and return to some crazy woman like you?"

The woman was furious because Joshua was right, she was indeed more beautiful, it was obvious and that made her even angrier at the situation! But she really could not believe that Joshua was with her, she did not look like his type at all, in any way, and she was sure that she could win him back, because looking at them Joshua was standing way too far from the woman, there was no closeness between them.

"Anyway, I know you two are not together!"
