Taming Death.

Book 2 is underway! In the fractured elven realm of Elysium, five clans: High, Sun, Dark, Moon, and Forest elves. They live divided by centuries old prejudice and scars from a devastating civil war. Once united, the clans now linger in distrust, their lands and cultures isolated. As a dark and ancient evil begins to stir, threatening both Etherworld, the realm of the living, and Netherworld, the land of the dead, the fragile balance between life and death is on the brink of collapse. To prevent the realm’s descent into chaos, an unprecedented marriage is arranged between the two most powerful clans. Orion, the first female high elf born in over a millennium and the physical embodiment of Nether, the god of death, is forced to wed Theo, the fiery sun elf prince tied to Ether, the god of life. Their union is a political maneuver to bridge the divide between their peoples, but it quickly becomes clear that their destiny is far greater than a mere treaty. Together, they are thrust into the heart of a prophecy that foretells the unification or destruction of Elysium. As unrest brews among the clans, Orion and Theo embark on a perilous journey to unite the elves against the rising darkness. Their path takes them through glittering courts, ancient ruins, and shadowed forests as they unravel the secrets of the gods who created their world. Along the way, they recruit allies from each of the clans and face enemies who would see their union and the realm destroyed. Confronting their own fears, the weight of their lineage, and the volatile magic they wield, Orion and Theo must not only learn to trust each other but also embrace the duality of their powers, life and death, to stand against an unimaginable evil. This sweeping epic unfolds against a backdrop of high stakes and rich world-building. Political intrigue, action-packed battles, and a desperate struggle for unity drive the story forward as the clans grapple with their shared history and the choices that will determine their future. The fate of Elysium hangs in the balance as Orion and Theo fight to bridge a chasm forged by war, all while standing at the precipice of an apocalypse that could consume both If you want images of the characters check out the discord! his excitement pressed against me

Theo and Orion share some playful banter as they walk out of the palace and head toward the stables. There they see Emmery tending to the griffin mother.

"Come on Valie someone is here to see you" Emmery said to the large female

Griffin. He rubs his hands under beak on her neck, ruffling her feathers. Valie was a good girl, strong too. Strong enough to carry the weight of two people.

"Oh, look at you Valie are you just so lovely after a fresh bath." Orion said to the griffin "you think you're ready for a flight?"

"Wait, flight? Who said anything about flying?" Theo said nervously Orion looked at him confused.

"Well, how else would you expect us to get there before you become dinner instead of this lovely bread being our lunch" she said.

"I'v never rode a griffin before. Or anything that flies really. I've always been the type to keep their feet firmly planted here on land." Theo admitted

Orion looked at him and a devilish smiled appeared on her face.

Noticing her focus putting on the double saddle, Emmery nudged Theo

"That face, be careful of that face. That's her plotting face." He whispered, "if she's plotting nothing good will come of it" before he could say anything else Orion turned to them both and said.

"Alright mister baby flyer let's take you out for your first flight!" Theo could feel the trickery in her voice.

"You've got something up your sleeve don't you?" Theo asked.

She

pointed to her sleeves,"even if i did, I don't think my sleeves have the

room for it"

Emmery laughed "good luck man" tapping Theo on his back.

"Hey, you turd what do you mean by that?" Orion yelled to him. He just waved bye

to her and continued walking to where Priscilla was throwing a fit because she

wasn't able to go with.

Orion walks over to the side of Valie, pulls up her dress enough she can get her feet in the hooks and hoists herself up.

Theo impressed she could climb and mount such a massive beast in a dress.

Theo could see her legs now as the dress was pulled up over her knees. Gulping he pulls himself up.

"You're not scared are you" she asks.

"I wouldn't say scared, but I'm definitely nervous. I'm trusting you to get us there safely, food and body parts intact." He answered.

Orion

We left the stable, now airborne. Not long into our travel, I decide it's the perfect time to miss with him; so I tickle Valie making her yell and jerk a little.

"Fuck" He yelled squeezing my hips tight with his thighs. "Did you do that on purpose?" He had a strong grip on my hips, his thighs were hard and strong, I was sitting between his legs, I had my dress hiked up making my legs bare for him to see, the cold air causing my legs to tingle. I can see the goosebumps on them.

See. Marcy. The his is why I prefer pants. But no. You put me in a dress. Don't get me wrong I love dresses, I have a lot and if I'm not leaving home or attending a party, I feel they aren't practical. At least not for me.

His chest was hot pressing on my back and neck. It felt good. I could feel his heart, it was beating fast, but his breaths were steady.

"You're pretty good at this whole flying thing" Theo leaned down and whispered in my ear. His warm breath sent shivers down my spine.

His voice caressing my ear making it hard for me to focus. I lean back hoping to get a bit more of his warmth. He moves his hand from waist to just at my hem line above my thigh. Fingers dangerously close the edge. My whole body started to heat up. I let him keep his hand there, it felt warm and exciting. He doesn't push it though, he kept his hand right there on the edge, thankfully. But a part of me wish he had. Part of me wanted him to push it, test the waters. But if he did I don't think

I could resist him.

I yell back to him, "yeah I've been flying since I was a child" I was telling him "Valie here was my first flight, she's my brother Aldreic's favorite. He took me on rides with him." His thumb now running the inside of my thigh. Feeling the heat wave start from my neck and roll down to where his hand was. Pressing my butt to his pants, I can feel the length of him. Growing larger with each passing moment. His

excitement was evident.

Woah.

"It sounds like you and your family are pretty close?" he stated pulling my attention away from his lingering hand.

"Yeah, you can't always tell looking in from the outside, but we are pretty close." And then she asked "what about your family, are you guys close?"

"Kinda. Father's, a real dickhead. I have two other brothers, but we have different mothers." He replied, "Talon and Terrance are good younger brothers, but their mom died not long after giving birth to Terrance."

You could hear a sort of sadness in his voice, leaning into me now "My mother's name was Genevieve, she was kind and gentle, I've been told, I know her death was a huge loss to my people. She like many of my people developed a blood disease from the rot that's spreading from the south, she died when I was young".

"Not long after that my father, King Evandar, married their mother" he continued "she was high born but nowhere near the same status as my mother.. But he loved their mother, and so did I since she practically raised me, but two years ago the Rot took her too."

The Rot. The rot had taken both of their mothers. That's devastating, I had no idea, I didn't know it was that bad down south. That must be why they're so desperate for this alliance, they need the aid we can provide.

It's not a big problem here yet, but we aren't a border clan like Sun Elves were.

Starting to descend they left that conversation in the clouds.

As Valie find her landing spot, they hit the ground with a thud. Sending us both lurching forward. Including his hand. She gasps as his hand was now practically under her, stunned neither could move for a second.

"Oh" Theo said with a sharp inhale. "Shit I'm sorry" pulling his hand away and instantly I missed his warmth, felt a longing for his warm hand.

"It was an accident, I'm not dressed for a ride" I said
