A gentle breeze blew through the alleyways in the streets of Rengkok. It was 10:30pm currently, the ever luminous sun had settled down and the moon had risen illuminating the earth with it's glorious light.
Footsteps which became more audible as time passed by, polluted this calm environment with it's noise.
"Where is he!?" The same question echoed through the dead of the night continuously. A man who looked to be in his twenties ran as though he was trying to save himself.
He seemed out of breath and gasped heavily for air after slowing down. Swiftly turning to his back, his eyes navigated around his environment like someone who was searching for the unknown.
"Show yourself!" He yelled in terror.
Watching from above on the rooftop was what seemed to resemble the silhouette of a young boy, he had a hood over his head so it was difficult to determine who exactly he was.
The silhouette dropped from the rooftop and descended swiftly towards the man, landing right in front of him the man's reflexes kicked in and he jumped backwards and quickly pulled out a gun from his holster.
"Die!!" He exclaimed firing off multiple shots at the kid.
With his hands slotted into his pockets, the young child effortlessly evaded the bullets with a series of acrobatics and finally got into the range of his assailant.
With one powerful thrust, he swiftly drove his right hand through the chest of the man and forcefully ejected his heart from it's initial position.
Spewing out a large quantity of blood, the man dropped to his knees in shock. Blood dripped down the hole in his chest and he stared at the kid who held his heart in his hand.
"J-just what the hell..." Slowly he slumped to the ground before completing his statement. "Are you.."
After confirming his death, the kid left the scene the moment he heard the sound of the police sirens becoming more audible than it initially was.
A mere hour had passed since the incident happened and the young boy was now seen in the presence of what looked to be a throne which resided in a very complex and complicated hall. A gathering was present and kneeling right in front of them was the boy.
The structure they all resided in was no other than the Voltia mansion, situated deep in the depths of a forest. The mansion is home to one of the greatest assassination clan to have ever existed, the Voltia clan.
"Outstanding." The man that rested on the throne exclaimed, his voice echoing throughout the hall.
"Your performance is beyond my expectations as always Tai." He commended the young assassins efforts.
Tai Voltia, the name given to the direct descendant of the Voltia clan who were demeed legendary . The Voltia clan became legendary due to their assassination prowess, however they dropped off the radar and now are considered to be near extinct.
"As the heir to the clan's head, your growth is outstanding, behold my fellow assassins! The one who is to stand above all! The one who will lead the Voltia in all it's glory! My very own son, Tai!" The current head of the Voltia clan, Nick addressed the gathering.
A loud cheer emerged from within the gathering, Tai got to his feet and faced the gathering who still applauded their soon to be leader.
Within the crowd were assassins who despised the fact that the leadership of the Voltia clan was about to be handed to a child on a silver platter, it was utterly unacceptable to them. The reason resting on the fact that Tai was a repulsive, spoilt and mean assassin who had no regards even for his own clan members.
The gathering dispersed, bringing an end to the induction ceremony of Tai Voltia. "Congrats Big Brother!" A voice exclaimed from behind.
"Huh?" Tai turned around to figure out who it was and to his greatest surprise, it was his step brother, Rai Voltia.
"Who gave this minor the right to approach me?" This was what Tai felt like saying to his own brother. He considered Rai a burden as he was an assassin of low standards, his skills pale in comparison to his.
"What is it?" Tai asked implementing a rude tone in his voice.
"I just wanted to congratulate you brother." Rai responded sensing the annoyance in his voice.
"I must commend you for your efforts to congratulate me, sadly I require no congratulatory comments from the likes of you." He said plainly.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Rai questioned in confusion.
"It means your congrats is irrelevant to him." Another voice which belonged to Nick, the father to the two boys interrupted.
"He needs nothing from a useless assassin such as yourself." Nick disgraced his stepson.
Nick never considered Rai a true son of his ever since he figured out Rai did not inherit the Voltia traits from him. Ever since he regarded Rai as a waste of space and reproduction.
"The Voltia clan is unfortunate to have had someone like you born into it, now we have to live with the shame." Nick added.
"And why?" Rai asked, he was fed up having heard the same thing over and over again.
"Sure I didn't inherit our clan's prowress so what!? No matter how hard I try you still fail to see the good I've accomplished even without those talents. I've worked my way up to where I am today and you still fail to acknowledge my efforts!" Rai yelled with tears in his eyes.
POW!
A swift backhand slap from Nick sent Rai flying into a wall displaying his strength. "Who do you think you are to raise your voice at me? Who do you think you are to judge me?" Nick became furious, he was forced to marry Rai's mother and as a result gave birth to what he referred to as "wasted reproduction".
"If you cannot learn discipline, I'll teach it to you." Nick approached Rai who fell to his knees as he ejected saliva from his mouth.
"Father, are you really going to waste those polished abilities on the likes of him? Today's supposed to be my induction ceremony, let's not allow him to spoil it." Tai spoke halting Nick's movements.
"Your right, it would be a waste of my skills. " Nick turned the other way and both him and his second son who he adored left Rai in hall.
Rai's eyes wavered, tears rolled down his cheeks as all he had ever hoped for was his father's love. But he wasn't going to take this anymore, with his mother gone he had no else. And the only ones he could refer to as a family maltreated him in the worst way possible.
"That does it." He stood to his feet and wiped the tears off his eyes. "I'm not gonna stand for this anymore." He spoke with determination beaming from his eyes.
