This time was during the Twilight War and the reason was that the ghosts were one of the main sides of the conflict. Eventually, the spirits lost their hegemonic position and their legacy was plundered by other races.
Their legacy was one of the reasons for the beginning of the Dawn War. During the Twilight War, a conspiracy was formed against the spirits to overthrow them, and the organizers of this plot and the parties that benefited most from this becoming more powers were the Demon, the Angels and the Heavenly.
However, they were not the foundation of it, the most important were the gods, and they decided how this war would go.
Aside from gods who belonged to particular races or had similar strength, the three primal dragons were involved, some phoenixes, some mighty undead, four of the nine titan leaders, and some elves or werewolves, and many other races besides.
Most important was the help of certain Ancient Gods who joined them because of their disputes with the spirits or for other reasons. A total of a dozen of them.
The most famous were such characters as the Ancient God of War, the Ancient God of the Sun, the Ancient God of Heaven, the Ancient Goddess of the Earth, the Ancient God of Wisdom and the two most important ones, the Ancient God of the Elements and the Ancient God of Mana.
There was another key Ancient God, but information about him has been lost or hidden, possibly on the initiative of this unknown Ancient God.
The Dawn War was incredibly fierce, and had it not been for the Ancient Elemental God and the Ancient Mana God to suppress and block many of the spirits' perks, this war might have ended differently.
And so after the war the number of Gods and spirits decreased to 2 Ancient Gods, 3 Greater Gods and 13 other Gods, 5 High, 3 Medium and 5 Low Gods.
The spirits lost and the species that entered the greatest numbers gained the most.
So Demons, Angels, and Heavenly became the next major powers throughout the entire master plan. The legacy itself left by the ghosts was so enormous that it eventually led to another large-scale war.
As for Lord Y, he was one of the Greater Gods and sat on the council of Nine Fire Spirits representing the Blue Fire.
The Nine Fires Council was composed of the powers of the fire elemental spirits. Gray Fire was first, followed by Black and White Fire, followed by Red Fire, Yellow Fire and Orange Fire.
The last ones were Violet Fire, Green Fire, and Blue Fire. They were one of the many councils that ruled over the spirits, and it was their duty to care for the spirits associated with fire. The Council of Fire was one of the strongest councils of spirits, and all members sat at the side of the Spirit Empress.
Each race had a king or queen, and the more powerful races had an Emperor, as did spirit. There were also exceptions to this, for example, a given race may not have a ruler, but generally the stronger the king, the stronger the race was.
As for the Fire Council, despite the fact that none of them died, such as Green, Violet, Black, White and Blue fire lost their divinity and fell into a weakness, which forced them to hide.
Others, such as Orange Fire and Yellow Fire, have fallen in rank to lower divine power. As for Red Fire, it has fallen one rank down from Great divine power to High divinity. The only nameless one was Gray Fire, which has not lost its power.
Due to the loss of divinity, Lord Y fell into a critical state and went to the Elemental Fire Dimension, where he remained asleep in the hope of regaining his strength. He had suffered the most damage, of all fire spirits, severe enough to be considered dead.
Unfortunately, he was unable to regenerate on his own, he needed outside help, but before he managed to call someone for help, he fell into a coma and slept there until the Apocalypse, never being able to wake up.
I was able to meet Lord Y while traveling through the Elemental Realm of Fire. Being a curious, powerful being in the lake of blue fire, I went deeper into the lake and discovered a seriously wounded Lord Y.
Sensing that his place had a terribly old aura, I decided to help him. I did it because I was just curious what the story was behind him.
It was then that Lord Y told me his story, the reason why he was lying in this lake of fire, and a lot of information about the original times. I was very curious about it, and as I didn't know it had been so long because I was traveling only 300 years before the apocalypse, I didn't have much time to chat.
After all, I spent almost 300 years talking exchanging information with Y, which is definitely one of the 5 longest-lasting conversations I have participated in and certainly one of the most abundant in new information. Then I also told him that the Apocalypse was coming and about my ability to return.
It was a really pleasant conversation and the beginning of our friendship, although it may seem abnormal for an ordinary person to spend 300 years on a conversation, at a higher level, time is becoming increasingly less valuable.
Some mages' experiments can last entire dynasties and even much longer depending on the level they are at. Even if the experiment fails, they won't have a problem if they learn from it, even if it takes 10,000 years, let alone 300 years.
For these great powers, time only matters when they are at the end of their lives and cannot make more progress.
Then they try to extend it at all costs or promote it to a higher rank. At that time, I could be considered one of the powers and even then the total time I have lived may be equal to those who have lived since the Twilight War.
I can now be considered the oldest being that has ever lived, except for those of the Primeval. Back then, time did not even exist and laws were just taking shape.
After this first meeting, I returned to this place several times, discussing with Lord Y, exchanging information on various matters, gaining not only historical knowledge but also insight into the laws and the Source of Origin.
After all, Lord Y was once a Greater God, so his skills cannot be underestimated. I asked him if he could be brought to the Main Plane, even if he was in his dormant version, so I wouldn't have to gain enough power every time to go to the Elemental Fire dimension.
Since dimensions such as the Element of Fire were extremely dangerous, there was mainly one law dominating there, making all abilities other than those related to pure fire ineffective.
For these reasons, dimensions with only one element were very dangerous and the beings that inhabited them were very powerful, such as the King of the Fire Element and the Lord of the Fire Dimension.
He was a naturally born heavenly being at the top of the Ancient Kingdom, even the gods were afraid to fight him and the only ones who could be sure that they could fight them equally in the dimension of fire were those on the level of the Ancient God.
