Ma-ri silently let out a snicker as she heard her friend yell on the other side of the phone.
"Relax young lady. Ji-hoon wanted to make sure momma was okay after we had our picnic date. I won't be able to come check on you after all."
"Great, because I don't want you to check on me. Say hi to my sweetheart for me." Seo-yeon replied and Ma-ri giggled this time around.
"I will. You can do this. Fighting." Ma-ri enthusiastically cheered before Seo-yeon hung up.
"Kids. She's no different from one."
Seo-yeon headed towards the back of the waiting room after getting dressed up. She knew she was going to show them her ballet and hip hop moves as that was what Ma-ri had signed her up for.
After a long time of waiting, she was finally called in for her tests. As she walked through the glass walls to the hall, she couldn't help but be nervous. Although she had practiced, she knew she could do it. But with how scarce jobs were in town, she won't see any on time and any with high payment.
As soon as the door auto opened with a click, she took a deep breath before stepping in and walked towards where the judges were seated. They were two men and a lady sitting with bored expressions masked on their faces. As soon as they set eyes on her, they all looked a bit surprised. Seo-yeon recognized one of them to be someone she had encountered in the past.
"You're Miss Seo-yeon right?" The lady asked.
"Yes I am." Seo-yeon politely replied, looking at them with a confident look. She tried as much to avoid looking at the man who she knew but his gaze was piercing into her.
"Interesting. You look young for your age. You look like a twenty two years old." The lady smiled. "So your dance specialization is hip hop and ballet. Let's go for hip hop first shall we?"
"Yes ma'am." Seo-yeon nodded gently and the lady in charge of the music signaled to her to get ready. The music started playing and Seo-yeon started.
They all looked stunned as they watched her dance. She started up gently but soon she added the charm in her dance to it. The man she knew shifted up his glasses gently as he looked up at her. He rested his back gently and watched her till her dancing session came to a perfect end.
"Wow Miss Seo-yeon, that was amazing! What do you think guys?" The lady looked at the men beside her and they gave her a slight nod.
"We will get back to you when we get all the results. I don't see anything new for the ballet, it was really obvious you have what it takes in your dance now."
"Thank you so much." Seo-yeon bowed and they nodded before she walked out. A sigh escaped her lips as she walked back towards the waiting room.
"Wait Seo-yeon." A deep voice made her halt and she turned back gently to see the man walking towards her. He shifted his glasses up and that made him look like one Angel on Earth. "May I have a word with you?" He asked and she nodded and they stepped into the nearby balcony.
"It's nice to see you after all these years Ji-min." Seo-yeon said and he chuckled gently.
"Yeah. Long time. I remembered I saw you last the day you decided to quit your career after releasing the music you were supposed to use for your debut performance." Ji-min raised his brows. "And now I see that he left you right?"
"You wanted to see me, not mock me Ji-min, right?" Seo-yeon frowned.
"I'm not mocking you Seo-yeon, I'm just saying. Despite being years old, Seo-yeon, your music is still one of the best selling, which is still a shock to everyone. Before I left Stellar a year back, the boss ' mistress still tried looking for you but you didn't pick up her calls nor could she locate you." Ji-min hummed and she looked at him with a frown.
"Great, you left Stellar so why do you want to see me?" She asked and Ji-min smirked.
"Being your producer wasn't the easiest thing as you weren't the easiest person to deal with." Ji-min chuckled. "I'm done with the producing thing and now I'm running my own modeling business. I see you aren't following the news."
"Why should I? It adds no value to my life." Seo-yeon folds her arms across her chest and Ji-min chuckled.
"Still feisty isn't it? I'm sure you won't be returning to music anytime soon but one thing Seo-yeon, you know Eun-ji used you to get what she wanted don't you? You know you should be the empress of the music industry and not her right? She bribed everyone to get up there which was more of the reason why I left Stellar." Ji-min leans forward. "Take back what she took from you Seo-yeon. But if you don't want to…." Ji-min stood back. "It's your choice, not mine."
"Thanks for the advice Ji-min. I would give it a thought." She frowned.
"I don't see you doing that now or in the next few weeks. But let's get down to business. You seem to have managed to stay young even after a child." Ji-min smirked and she looked shocked.
"How did you know?" She frowned.
"Well, it's easy for me to tell someone who has a child already but I watched you a few years back to try to persuade you to come back to the industry and happened to see you with the little cutie who looks just like his mother."
