Time appears to move faster than usual, as I replay all the incidents in my head one after the one, from the murder lipstick warning to the disappearing notes. I was quite relieved to when the bell rang for the end of school, I had survived a dreadful school day which meant the worst was yet to come, I still had to meet that Carlos ghost dude around 8 pm at Mcdonald's.

I am driving on my own back home, Hardin and elene took the rest of the gang for a resumption treat at the mall.

"poppy are you sure you don't want to come with ", Hardin said with a pout he had practically been begged me to come with.

" Nah I have to prepare to meet up with someone later ", I said with my assuring smile.

" ooooooooo sounds like someone has a big date ", willow coos

" it's not a date Willow", I said.

"mama you didn't tell me you had a boyfriend", she says teasing me.

" he is not my boyfriend"

"you never told us you were meeting a he ", Judith says smirking.

" oooooooooooooohhhhhhh", Hardin and Elene coos in amusement.

I pulled into the driveway breaking my thoughts, my mom had gone to work in her boutique so am alone in the house.

ever since my dad died last year, the house had become empty either mom would work overtime or elene would stay at Hardin's leaving only me at home because I don't want to be a third wheel to any of my friends.

Judith had a boyfriend named Trevor, willow was dating Correy, elene is with Hardin while am with a psychotic ghost dude who I don't think even exists.

I darted into my room and landed on my bed trying to grab a few minutes of shut-eye before my date with the ghost dude.

"eileeeeeeennnnnnnn", elene screamed

" what", I add half asleep

"I thought you had a big date ", she asked me accusingly.

" it's not a date and don't have to meet him until 8 p.m", I say hoping she would leave me alone.

I felt a pillow thrash against my head then I snapped."christ what do you want from me ", thanks to elene am fully awake.

" The time is 7:30 let me help you get ready ", she says pleading

I feel guilty a little bit," Nah pass".

"fine but not too much makeup", I say already regretting my actions as I see elene holding her curling iron and a ton of hairspray, I gulped.

" you are in safe hands ", she says as she laughs like a maniac.

after a few minutes of hairspray and make-up mixed with me most yelling because the hairspray entered my eyes or I got poked with an eyeliner.

" Done " , she says looking impressed with herself.

I moved towards the standing mirror expecting to see a shocking transformation but instead all I saw was me with more loose curls and make-up that made me look like I had none on and I was glowing.

" surprised much", she says taunting me

"yeah I thought I would get some huge transformation or something"

"whatever turn around and see what I got you from the mall today", she says.

I turn around not knowing what to expect from her and there it was a white dress. i moved to hug her.

" I love it ", I say almost in a whisper

" yeah I know", she says teasing me

"Yeah, way to ruin the moment elene", I said rolling my eyes.

" girl just put it on you have two minutes before your big-time American date", she says with her voice dripping in excitement.

I quickly changed into the dress, it is a form-fitted knee-length dress with white and gold lacey embroidery, its neckline was v-shaped.

"you look gorgeous", she says as she takes a photo of me.

" hey, what are you doing?"

"taking pics of you to show the guys", she says looking innocent.

"am gonna kill you ", I threatened her.

" you can kill me when you get back from your big date".

"it's not a date ", I said whilst looking at my watch.

it was right on the dot, I pick up my phone and grab my car keys. i begin to scramble down the stairs.

" mama he isn't coming to pick you up", she asked looking unimpressed.

"yup"

"then who is that at the door", she asked all excited as she reached to open the door for a nervous-looking but sharp Carlos.

" Eileen you look stunning as always ", he says flashing his charming smile.

" Carlos I thought I was driving to meet you", I asked looking confused.

" What kind of gentleman would I be if I had let my date drive to meet me ", he said smiling again.

elene quickly clicked a pic of both of us and then literally pushed us out of the house.

"you kids have fun ", she says laughing.

" ooooo we will ", Carlos smiles at me.
