As they had gotten access to the city Sarah led her guest into a bar and offered them each drink on her and her companions as their thanks for saving their lives.

The drink provided was... well it was alcohol but really poor quality that was barely able to be drunk compared to the brews he'd had access to back on his Earth.

The RA soldiers quickly drank the brew before returning to an alert state watching the other bar patrons.

Jake meanwhile slowly sipped the drink, not wanting to waste their hospitality when they remained his greatest source of information.

"So, whose the strongest in this place?" <Jake >

"Well as I said before this place has three managers, each is of equal strength so I guess it depends on which on you mean to find?" <Sarah >

Just then a few men entered the bar, announcing their successful theft from a newly arrived elderly couple who were kind enough to donate their life savings to pay for the men's drink.

"Is this common here?" <Jake >

"Fairly common... yeah." <Sarah >

"All the managers operate the same?" <Jake >

"Near enough yes, power is everything without it you'd just be the one being taken from." <Sarah >

"Well that makes sense." <Jake >

Fox meanwhile had returned to the bar having left after the delinquents arrival to check on the aforementioned elderly couple only to sadly shake his head indicating they'd already passed on to Jake.

Jake silently stood as he approached the three men now sitting at the bar.

There was a flash of silver and before anyone knew it the three men still seated at the bar had become headless their necks spewing forth fountain of blood.

As Jake left the bar offering a casual thanks to Sarah for her own thanks, the surrounding has only just now noticed the scene taking place.

Those two elders are worth more to me than a trio of bandits any day.

It was the first time I had killed anyone with my own hands but since the three had treated human life as worthless his own conscience was clear as he felt calm and his own mood changed very little as a result.

As they regrouped outside the bar an unknown followed them approaching Jake.

"Young master, those three were Kyree's men, he's one of the three managers of this place. You killed them so Kyree will definitely not let you go."

Jakes eyes twitch hearing that the three would result in a greater enemy coming for him.

"That's okay uncle, where can one find this Kyree?" <Jake >

The older man was stunned never had he seen a young man like Jake before. Why was he here and not afraid of those in power of the outpost?

In the end he provided the information even though he repeatedly warned Jake and his men about the power Kyree possessed.

The Outpost was not a large place and within a few minutes news of what had happened in the bar had spread to Kyree's ear.

"Boss we can't let this matter go, if we do, how long till Antonio, or Reese tries to do the same?"

Kyree meanwhile sat calmly in his chair as his subordinate pled for him to take revenge for the loss of their street crew.

He was well known in the outpost as one of the three 2nd tier transcendent and likewise as one of the managers or rulers of this place.

Taking out a cigarette and smoking it with great pleasure his men around him trying their best for a chance to inhale his breathed out smoke as this would be their only way of getting a chance to experience the joy of smoking such a luxury product from the fortress cities as tobacco, the cost was beyond anyone from the Outpost save for a select few and their prices rose steadily even then as they were popular in the fortress city and supply could not meet the demand.

After a while Kyree finally spoke. His voice was sharp and thin "Those were my people, if someone kills my people in front of me and I don't say anything, others will think I'm easy to bully"

"So what should we do boss?"

"Find out where these bastard are and ambush them. I want people to know what will happen if they try messing with me!"

the subordinates present smiled they all knew this meant they'd get the strongest force a set of peak 1st tier their strongest and top of the gang to deal with these interlopers meaning in a few hours their troubles would be over and done with.

Of course they knew Jake had a 2nd tier with him but second tier even at its peak was not invincible, with superior weapons a transcendent who could kill a 2nd tier peak was possible moreover they were ambushing which gave them the advantage.

For this reason Kyree took out something special and gave it to his 2nd in command to use against their opponent.

While this was happening Jake and his squad were slowly making their way directly to Kyree's base of operations, which gathered the attention of the entire outpost.

Back in the bar Sarahs face changed drastically when the news reached her ears, she bore witness to the slaughter but now, her savior was openly challenging one of the managers.

No one here knew just how cruel Kyree was other than Sarah having first hand knowledge of what a monster the man was.

But at the same time she knew aside from her vow back in the ruins that she owed nothing towards Jake and if he could be felled by Kyree that would mean she was free from her vow, something she wanted in her core as dedicating her life to a man weaker than her was not something she could stomach.

As Jake walked on, he saw the truth face of the outpost. It was called an outpost but really it was more like a refugee camp, with a strange smell everywhere you went, and almost everyone you came across looked like they were starving to death.

Even when you did see someone eating they were doing so with great difficulty, was the food really that tough to even chew?

Looking over at Alpha

"What do you suppose that is?" <Jake >

"Commander, that should be the intestines of a mutant beast most likely and it looks to have been smoked or dried in some way." <Alpha >

Before the apocalypse descended few would bother to eat the meat of mutant beasts, but now it was the food countless people fought to the death over getting even just a single mouthful.

"When I have enough strength I will kill all these mutant beasts to the point they become mere livestock, and make humanity masters of the earth once more." <Jake >

As they neared their destination Jake suddenly stopped moving, not because he'd found anything but because his captain Alpha had informed him there was an ambush ahead.

Alpha was his strongest, with enhanced sense and vigilance. If he said so there was no reason to doubt what he said.

In that case there really was an ambush setup down there.

"Can we handle it?" <Jake >

"No problem." <Alpha >

Doing a quick hand sign four soldiers broke off and ran down the alleys on either side of the main road they were walking on.

The remaining 5 continued to guard their commander such was their highest priority.

Learning more about his system from the support he found that he could see things through the eyes of any of his soldiers, so closing one of his eyes he was able to visualize the pov of all four soldiers who'd left his side.

It was a weird feeling but not that much different than playing with an AR or VR headset.

His means moves were stealthy, if I couldn't share vision with them I wouldn't be able to know where they were right now.

Each approached a person laying in wait from behind before clamping a hand over their mouths as a blade was drawn across their throat, in an instant four assailants were slain before they even knew what had happened.

They moved on each having a 2nd target in their sights.

Once more playing as assassins to the ambushing group.

another batch of corpses were created save for the 8th victim who due to sheer dumb luck was able to spot the RA soldier before he could attack raising the alarm and alerting the remaining survivors that they were infact the ones under attack.

Those in their homes heard the declaration and quickly shuttered their doors and windows to save themselves from the coming gang violence compared to the gangs power a normal person would die merely from a touch of a transcendant.

Of the ambush corp only the 2nd in command remained alive of the peak 1st tiers setup against Jake and his squad.

Kryee's men were armed with Machete's since the laws of the outpost stated firearms were illegal to be fired within the outpost limits, meanwhile, cold weapons were more efficient against transcendents anyway since most could most fast enough to simply dodge any bullets fired at them.

And so a short blade swordfight took place in the streets the Gangs machete's vs the RA's combat knives.

in an instant all except the lieutenant were easily slain, since he was the only one able to fight equally against an RA soldier.

Before he could attempt a retreat to inform of their power Alpha appeared to replace the soldier as the opponent and as a result the lieutenants arms both flew up into the air.

"Ah! my arms!"

Both had quickly been severed at the elbow in a single swipe by Alpha's knife.

Grabbing onto the collar of the kneeling man Alpha dragged him towards Jake.

"Commander I've brought the ambushers leader before you." <Alpha >

"So Kyree didn't know I had 2nd tier suborinates with me?" <Jake >

"Wha 2nd tier? the boss didn't tell us!"

There were no signs the man had lied, so it was clear Kyree might've used Jake to rid himself of this man from his organization.

"He's really ruthless. Since he thinks so, I'll fulfill his wish." <Jake >

From behind Alpha blade piece through the mans back and into his heart ending his life.

From within his mind he hear his support system ring out.

[4 1st-tier peak humans slain you have earned 400 credits.]

So... it seems I can earn credits for killed beasts or men so long as they've awakened, after all all the other normal humans did not earn me anything.

With nothing left to be done they left the corpses behind and carried on towards Kyree's base.

As she walked along the towns streets word reached her ear that the ambush against Jake had failed, and instead the ambushers themselves had been wiped out while Jake and his mean hadn't suffered a single loss or even injury for that matter.
