Beep…. Beep….. Beep…
The constant beeping sound was the first thing that Maevie woke up to when consciousness came to her. She willed to open her eyes. But they refused to obey her will and merely made a little gap before the weight of her eye lids overwhelmed her. Maevie gave up the thought of opening her eyes and just took a deep breath.
As her senses were slowly returning to her, she felt as if she had participated in a cross-country marathon without proper warmup. Her whole body was sore. Her head was pounding as her ears were irritated by the beeping sound.
She felt like moaning in pain, but her throat was dry and could hardly make any sound. Then she once again tried to open her eyes.
She blinked a few times to get rid of the blurriness and adapt to the bright light. White ceilings. The first thing that came into her view was the ceiling. She moved her left hand to rub the irritation she felt on her face. But a japing pain held her action. She carefully lifted her hand and saw the needle strapped by the tap on the back of her hand.
Maevie was in the hospital.
The twenty-one-year-old closed her eyes and tried to recall what had happened, when a 'DING' sound caught her attention.
'System!'
The word came to her mind. She opened her eyes and saw a bluish translucent screen floating in front of her.
[ CONGRATULATION TO 178455 ON THE GRADUATION FROM THE VILLAINESS REDEMPTION ACCADEMY]
Maevie concentrated at the next button at the corner of the screen.

'Close'
Maevie let out a long sigh. She turned her head to the window. It was bright. Too bright that her eyes were having a hard time capturing the image.
'So. I'm back.'
She thought. She felt like she had been dreaming for a long time. But the system icon she saw in the corner of her eyes were telling her otherwise. If she told anyone that she had been a white space where she was educated and made to possess a body as a trial for every phase, she would be directly transferred to the psychiatric department instead.
Then she heard the door of the room open. She turned and saw her assistant, Nora. The older girl paused for a second and slowly called out.
"Maevie…. Are you awake now?"
"Yeah!" Came her hoarse and dry voice.
"Wait a second. Let me get you water." Nora went to the bed stand where the thermoflask stood. She then mixed the water to the right temperature and gave a straw to her boss to take a sip.
Maevie felt much better after drinking the water.
"Let me go and get the doctor." Saying that Nora rushed out of the room. After a few minutes, the assistant came in with a doctor who should've been in his resident period and a nurse.
After checking up on her states, the doctor explained her condition.
"There was nothing wrong with you except for the few scratches and bruises. There a swelling at your left leg and your right shoulder which was cause by the impact. Thankfully they are only muscle contusion and not fracture. There should be no tissue damage unless you do heavy movement before your full recovery."
"And how long will it take to recover fully?" Nora inquired.
"Around ten to fifteen days if one is very careful not to strain the muscles during this period."
The assistant was alarmed when she heard this.
'Ten to fifteen days. But… the show…'
The girl lying was unaware of what her assistant's worry.
"Thank you doctor."
The doctor nodded before leaving the room. But the shocked assistant remained.
'Did Princess Maevie Oz thank someone just now? Right in front of my eyes?'
Who was Maevie Oz?
Just one type on the search engine and the answer is available there. The first lady of the Oz family, one of the most powerful family in the Eastern Blue Nation, who hold military power. Her mother was the only daughter of the Cacia family, one of the richest in the nation if not the richest in the world.
And if her mother had not divorce Mr. Oz, Maevie could've been the heiress.
Being born to a rich and powerful family, and also being a daughter, Maevie was spoiled since very young age and had never been shown the correct way. She was used to having everything her way and was overbearing and arrogant. If the things did not turn out the way she wished, she would cause a scene and make trouble for her family, and whined till she get what she wanted.
And hence, the reason for Nora to be surprised by the gratefulness showed by the overbearing princess. But she knew better than to question her boss who was her core source of income. Besides, there was a bigger problem in front of them.
"What happened?"
Maevie questioned. She was not able to grasp how she ended in the hospital.
"You got into an accident."
"…"
"A drunk drive."
"…"
While the assistant looked at Maevie who was laying motionless on the bed, the girl in question was trying to remember what had happened before she was brought into the system.
Maybe it was because she had too much memories from the world she traveled to, she could not access to her memories right before she was bound by the system. Or maybe because she was drunk that she did not have the memory at all. Her thought triggered the system.

[ORGANISATION OF HOST_MAEVIE MEMORIES HAS BEENCOMPLETED]
The memories Maevie was seeking for came rushing in like a flood after a dam breakage. And so was the throbbing ache in her heart. And her hopeless emotion.
This had never happened before when she sought memories from the system. Maybe it was because this was not a stimulation. But her own memories and her own emotions. They could never compare to the world she had been to. After all, in those worlds, she was there for a mission. Complete it then leave.
But this was herself. Maevie Oz. True and Organic.
