The Punishment

Maevie Oz was a spoiled brat. There was no doubt to that. She was the only daughter in the Oz family. And after the very bad divorce of her parents, she followed her mother and came to the Cacia family.

Her mother Lily Cacia used her misfortune to get what she desired with her parents as her support. And Maevie too, following her mother's example, instead of being grateful to her uncle and his family for being their support, thought that it was rightful of them to suck on the family's blood.

She thought that she was the princess of the house and she deserved to be pampered. Just like how her mother and maternal grandmother did. Whenever her cousins had a disagreement with her, she'd complain to her grandmother and get them scolded.

"Our Maevie is very unfortunate. She only had us as her support now. Her father is a scumbag. Who would she depend on if not you who are her brothers?"

Her grandmother was always blind to her spoiled behaviors and scolded her cousins instead. 

After this happened a lot of time over the years, her uncle's family would give her everything she demanded without a question of right and wrong. She always thought that they really love her and were spoiling her.

Until the real daughter of the uncle, Sienna, who got lost nine years ago was brought back. When she saw the attention her uncle, aunt, and her three cousin brothers were giving her, she was envious. Instead of being happy that her lost sister was back, she felt that the country bumkin was back to steal what was hers.

Ignoring the fact that nothing was hers in the first place.

She started making things difficult for the girl who just reunited with her family. Use her holding in the house to make the helpers trouble the real heiress of the family. Bully her every chance she got. Not knowing that she was slowly cutting off the affection the Cacia family had for her little by little with her actions.

When she joined the entertainment industry at the age of 17 just after she graduated her school without entering the college, she didn't know that her family had given up the last hope that they had for her to change.

She entered the 'Tomorrow's Idol' show to chase her crush in which Sienne was also a part of. The two sisters from the Cacia family appearing together in the same show, that fact alone was a traffic for people to watch.

But as the show progressed, the netizens couldn't help but point out that difference between the two sisters. One was gentle and kind while the other was arrogant and overbearing. One was flawless in her movement like a swan while the other looked like a chicken pretending to be a peacock, chasing after a man instead of focusing on her performance.

Maevie already had a lot of haters from her previous works, where she acted as a beauty, but had no talent. And now that she brought her talentless self to a competition, the anger the viewers had for her was appearing in the comments.

And it did not help that her personality was awful.

Maevie was now aware that the world saw her as a blood sucking parasite in the otherwise perfect family of Cacia. She hated that the world view Sienne as the princess of the Cacia family and her just an outsider.

She hated that they saw her as a clown who did not know her place while they called out Sienne for her kindness and graceful demeanor.

Thinking that she would expose Sienne's ungraceful side, Maevie brought her to a New Year party. She thought that she would make Sienne drink till she was drunk and make her dance with lot of men. Then she would show the world how graceful their little swan was when she was sticking to the men's body.

But she never expected that the party she as invited to also involved drugs. Before she even knew what was happening, she was already sitting in the lockup of the police station.

Sienne escaped the disaster as she was brought out by one of her admires who knew what was going to happen. Maevie had brought out Sienne to cause trouble for her. But she landed on a bigger trouble herself.

In the morning, her Second Brother came to the police station and ordered her to stay in the lockup for the period as a punishment. For bringing Sienne to such parties.

While she stayed locked up for 3 days, the internet was already fired up. Maevie had always been filter less and openly partied since she turned of legal age, despite her being in the Entertainment industry. She already had enough hater to create an army from her previous actions.

And now, the media was publishing her involvement in the drug party with other big names. Even after the police gave out the statement that she was just a bystander who was caught up in the current and had nothing to do with drugs, the netizens wanted her out of the industry.

When she was released, she was picked up by her assistant, Nora. She came back to the Cacia Family Villa and noticed that her family was not there. Her Uncle took her Aunt for the business trip. And her brothers took Sienne to a trip.

Maevie had never felt left out like this. She remembered the comments of her being an outsider, a parasite to her family. Then she shook her head violently as if it would shake off the idea itself from her head.

"It's just my punishment. It's because they care for me. They're just angry at me for getting involved with druggies. They love me. They love me a lot."

Thought out the sleepless night of her return, she waited in the living room, in the darkness. Thinking they would comeback soon. That her brothers would comfort her. And then she could complain to them of why they didn't bail her out? Why Sienne escaped by herself?
