Fifteen minutes later, we were sitting there in the living room.
On the table in front of us was a pot of tea and some cups that I had brought over, but my cousin didn't touch it once.
There was a very awkward and tense silence that hung in the air, but neither of us said anything still.
It was that neither of us really knew how to start this conversation…
But in the end, I couldn't take it anymore and asked, "Do you want some cookies or something?"
My cousin looked at me for a few seconds before slowly shaking her head.
Then the awkward silence came back…
However, I didn't let it remain this time.
"Alright, let's just get it all out there. What is it about this place that you don't like?" I said with a large sigh.
She was surprised to hear me being this direct, but she didn't answer right away.
