He was completely right, even if I didn't want to admit it.

The last time that I had used this power, it had actually used up a bit of the power that I had absorbed.

I could forcefully use it, but each time that I did, it would become weaker and weaker. Instead of being a power that I absorbed into myself and could use at will, this was a power that seemed to have a limited source and I could only draw on until that source ran out.

So if I were to keep using it, it would eventually run out.

When that happened, it would be impossible to keep up the ruse.

It certainly wasn't a reliable plan, but there was nothing better.

Seeing that I just opened and closed my mouth like this, he said, "It's not as if this isn't something that we can't consider in the future. Right now, it's just too risky, so I can't allow this plan to happen."

I just looked at him with a wronged look, but I couldn't say that he was wrong.
