Michael walked into the MGM Grand with a suit looking like a regular patron. He had even dyed his hair gray to look older. He would make his move when the concert starts within one hour. He checked on all the employees to make sure there were no last-minute shift changes. Everything was going to plan so far, Michael just needed to wait. He lingered around the bar area blending in while not leaving a lasting impression on anyone.
Honestly, Michael was sweating like a pig. He was committing a crime even if he had a reason too. He knew that he was merely twisting facts to suit his own needs; There is no need to rob the whole casino if he just wants to hurt Vincent. He was clearly tempted by the quick cash and decided to use Vincent as a scapegoat to get rich.
Michael did not have the impression that he was a saint or anything. He never messed with anybody as long as they don't mess with him. Since Michael grew up in an orphanage, he knew what survival of the fittest meant. Everybody was out watching for themselves and had no time for others. The only people that truly cared for you were family and he had no family. In fact, if Michael did not get the System he would still be working a minimum wage job probably for the rest of his life.
Time quickly flew by and his phone vibrated letting him know it was 3 PM. The concert was starting; Michael headed to the restroom. He washed his face to refresh himself and went into a stall. He put on a mask and waited for 10 minutes before drinking the camouflage potion.
The potion took a couple of minutes before going into effect. He opened the stall door and checked the mirror. He was flabbergasted because he could not even find himself in the mirror. This potion is seriously overpowered; It was still grayed out in the store so he could not buy it yet but he looked forward to the day he could.
Michael walked out of the restroom and looked around for Anthony Denzel. Anthony was a floor manager at MGM Grand who had a very peculiar habit. He would take a smoke break every day at exactly 3:15 PM in the break room. For the past two weeks, Michael had not seen Anthony break his habit even once. He found Anthony making his rounds and heading in the direction of the Service door.
Michael quickly walked behind Anthony and headed in the same direction. Anthony greeted the guards and swiped his badge. The light turned green and the door unlocked. Anthony always had a habit of opening the door too wide, which allowed Michael to sneak in right behind him.
Michael ditched Anthony and headed to the elevator going down to the vault. This where things would get hairy. The elevator had thermal cameras so it would detect him even if he was camouflaged; so he could not sneak in like before.
This was where Michael decided to use torch cutter to cut the elevator shaft door open and climb down the elevator shaft. He would do the same at the bottom level allowing him access to the vault. However, before he could do that he had to use the EMP grenade as the cameras will notice the door being cut.
Michael pulled out the grenade and threw it while running back to get cover.
At the MGM Resort Hall
Vincent Benedict was attending the Taylor Swift concert with his Trophy wife. He did not really like Taylor Swift but he needed to do something to promote the resort as it was slowly declining. He was sitting in the VIP section while mingling with some shareholders who were also attending.
All of a sudden, the lights flickered for a couple of seconds before coming back on again. Vincent heard his phone ringing. He checked the caller ID and was taken back; It was the landline from the security room. They only called when there is a security issue.
"What is going on?" Vincent answered. The crowds panicked for a second but calmed down because they thought the quick power cut was a part of the show.
"Sir we are not sure. We lost power for a second but the Backup power kicked in and everything should be fine. However, all the cameras and sensors are offline." The technician replied nervously.
"Call security and tell them to sweep the whole casino and you keep trying to restart the cameras. Call me back when they come back online" Vincent ordered and then hung up the phone. He assured the shareholders that nothing went wrong. Whoever caused this will pay in due time.
In the Corridor at the back of the Casino
Michael got to work as soon as the lights went out. He cut the elevator shaft door and climbed down. When he reached the bottom level he cut the door again and stepped onto the floor. As soon as he stepped in he saw the guards staring at the melted door with their mouths open. They did not know how the door got cut and was trying to alert their supervisor.
Michael knocked the guards out before they could reach their radios. He waltzed down the corridor and reached the vault. Michael crossed his finger and reached out to touch the vault.
"Poof"
The twenty-ton vault disappeared. Michael was elated; When he formed the plan he didn't really have a guarantee that it was going to work. It was the first time absorbing something so huge. Unlike bank Vaults which were built along with the bank, the casino Vault was a late addition which meant it was not tied down to the structure like a bank vault.
He quickly ran back and climbed up the elevator shaft and headed out. The service door did not need a badge to open from the inside. However, it would be strange if the door opened by itself so he waited around for someone to open it.
Michael did not have to wait long because the guards were running around sweeping the building. He slid past them when they opened the door and headed to the front door exit. However, to his disappointment, the front exit was blocked by the guards and he could not leave yet.
Michael was in a conundrum, the guards should not have woken up and alerted security yet so why did they lock down the casino already? It must have been Vincent; That old coot had a ridiculous intuition. Michael needed to find a way to escape quickly before his camouflage wore off. What could he do?
