I turn the wheel, turning left, onto one of Stanford's busiest streets, this one filled with a nightclubs and more nightclubs every block. Soon I stop at a red light next to other cars. Young adults in costumes walking along the sidewalk and crosswalk.
"Quem é essa menina de vermelho? Eu vim pro baile só pra ver... Elaa~ Rebolando até o chão!" My fingers tap the steering wheel to an iconic beat as I get a little nostalgic for my home country by singing one of their 'Greatest Hits'.
(A/N: For the curious, search for: MC Daleste - Mina de vermelho.)
Tonight I'm going to meet Sam, one of the two favorite 'characters' of the psycho God who rules this universe. There's a file on him I want to get before he leaves town with Dean this morning and a hypothesis I need to confirm.
This can play out in both positive and negative ways: At best, Chuck ends up choosing to allow my character to join the cast and favoring me just like he does the Winchester brothers, and at worst, he realizes right away that I am an intruder in this world and decides to atomize me or give me a more tragic end for interfering with his script.
Of course, the last possibility scares the shit out of me, but thinking about the events so far over the last few days, including the short conversation I had with my ROB, I've come to the conclusion that the odds are more tilted towards good than bad.
'I've already made significant changes to the plot dealing with the woman in white before the brothers and getting John Winchester's diary. I couldn't hide if I tried.'
It's only a matter of time before the 'almighty' God who spends his time watching Sam and Dean's adventures realizes I've been there. And that's exactly why I imagine it's going to be okay.
If the entity that sent me here was concerned about me specifically being seen by Chuck, they wouldn't have sent me to Jericho at the exact party and night Constance Welch's latest victim was at, and they wouldn't have congratulated me on changing the storyline either... From the way he acted concerned only when we'd been talking for a while, the problem must be Chuck, or some other entity, realizing he's been in contact with me.
I alone must be safe. Was the answer I arrived at through just my own guesses, I'm betting here.
"Usa Dolce Gabbana grife cara, ela tem grana pra gastar... Elaa~ também usa Louis Vuitton!" The light goes from red to green, allowing me to proceed in high spirits with the few minutes left to reach my destination.
Maybe it's the familiar urban buzz of the night, or the festive atmosphere of this Halloween night, but after driving for a few minutes, I find myself in a very positive mood about today.

"Name please." In front of the double doors of a bar rented for a college Halloween party, a guy in the classic skeleton costume, the current entry manager, asks my name.
I adjust my black coat, run a hand through my hair and respond with my most Hollywood smile. "Robert Downey Senior."
The skeleton sighs, predictably, not even close to believing this blatant lie. "Man, please, the real name."
"Robert...Downey...Senior." From an inside pocket of the overcoat, I pull out a college card containing my photo and said 'name' as a performing arts student.
"Oh..." He is legitimately impressed and checks the list, finding 'my name' on it. "Sorry, you can come in." He says rather sheepishly as he clears the way.
I shake my head, dismissing the apologies as I pocket the ID card I forged the day before. "Don't be sorry, it happens often." In keeping with my chosen profile, I pull a fifty-dollar bill out of my pocket and hand it to him. "Here, use it to buy something from Burger King. If it doesn't taste good, change your life."
(A/N: Reference to a moment in the life of Robert Downey Jr.)
Leaving the guy at the entrance without understanding almost anything, I go inside the party, where I walk a little, mixing with the other people, and only then do I let the laughter out. "Man, that was so good." Now I understand Dean and his weird choice of names for the fake IDs on the show, it's hilarious.
A little childish? Maybe, but Hilarious.
'Okay, okay, in case everything goes wrong I had my laugh, now focus on the goal.'
Reminding myself of why I'm here tonight, I rub my hands together nervously and resume pacing. With my eyes hidden by dark glasses, which, despite dimming the light a little, are not too uncomfortable, I scan all the tables in the place in search of a certain law student.
"Hey Robert!" I feel a tap on my shoulder, making me turn to see a thicker, goatee version of Hellraiser's Pinhead staring at me with an excited smile in the company of two pretty brunettes, and put pretty on that! One dressed as a devil and the other as a vampire.
"Hey..." I take four seconds mentally trying to cross the image of the differentiated Pinhead
with someone I know... It's visible his expression starting to wither with my delay.
'Ah, it's the tattoo artist! What a coincidence.'
Remembering the man, I excitedly turn to them. "Johnny! What a great costume, I almost didn't recognize you man!"
He instantly regains his smile. "It's really good, isn't it? It took a lot of work to get the pins in the face."
What would a man be without his quick thinking, eh?
"Yes, yes, for a second I thought I was taken into a Hellraiser movie." God-I say, Old Cosmic, please no, that wasn't a suggestion.
While occupied by my acquaintance, I still continue to scan the party behind my sunglasses, seeing no sign of the Winchester or the Girlfriend.
'Maybe it hasn't arrived yet.'

Apparently the tattoo artist had set up a double date with a friend and the pair of girls, but the friend canceled at the last minute and now he needs a replacement... Good for me. We got some drinks, two straight shots of straight whiskey for me and Johnny while fruity cocktails for the girls.
"Haha, you really are a beast." Johnny and the girls laugh at a story of mine.
"He really is..." The girl dressed as a vampire, beautiful curves, light eyes and wavy hair, gives me a great look while taking a sip of the cocktail in her hands. "I wouldn't mind being the target of that vampire hunter..."
'Oh daddy, it's today...'
We spend the next few minutes making small talk, me flirting with the 'vampire' and her flirting back... Things start to heat up, the temptation almost making me forget why I'm here.
After we've split up into pairs, each with their own girl, I'm willingly squashing my fiery little vampire against a wall, about to take her into the bathroom, when inconveniently a big guy coming out of there bumps shoulder to shoulder with me, ending up with my moment.
It's a little strange, with the contact I feel a little dizzy, my mind clouding for an instant, making me lose my balance and fall to the ground without understanding anything even though I had the advantage in physical strength.
"Oh Robert…" Worse, the girl sees me falling on my ass to the floor like an idiot.
"I'm really sorry. Are you okay?" The guy at least has the decency to apologize and give me a hand up, which I accept after coming to my senses.
Sigh. "Oh yeah, I've been better..." As I pick myself up off the ground, I lift my head to finally see the face of the guy who ruined my moment.
"Oh..." I trail off.
Being so far the only person wearing regular clothes instead of costume at this party, being a little taller than me, in front of me is a very young and beardless version of the iconic actor Jared Padalecki... Or rather, as confirmed by the window of the system that has just opened:
"... Sam Winchester."
[Samuel Campbell Winchester]
- Sam Winchester was born on May 2, 1983 to John E. Winchester and Mary Winchester in Lawrence, Kansas. He is the youngest child of the couple, having a brother four years older, Dean Winchester.
After his mother's death by a demon, he and his brother received extensive training throughout their childhood and adolescence to hunt supernatural creatures. Two years ago he decided to stop following in his father's footsteps, joining Stanford University after one last argument.
