LUCA'S POV:~

"So what do you want to say in your defense?" Father asked

"Forgive me, it was my mistake."

"Do you even know what's your biggest mistake?"

My biggest mistake was that I trusted that actress. I asked her to leave him at my house, but she didn't.

But this is not what father wants to hear.

"My biggest mistake is that I went there despite knowing the danger."

"At least you have realized this much. So can you tell me why you did this?"

"Someone informed me that assassins have been hired to kill me and Leon. As soon as I got the news, I called Leon. the phone rang once and after that the phone was switched off-"

"Even after this, you didn't noticed something was wrong!!?" he shouted at me

"When I checked the location of his Leon's phone, I found that he was with one of our classmates, whose name is Tokino Sarah" I said

"And after that you went there?" He said

"Leon never misses my calls, and after this call rang, the phone was switched off. I guessed that Leon didn't had his phone and taken by someone else, probably by Sarah. She hated me, she switched off Leon's phone so that I could not contact Leon. Apart from this, there was another possibility"

"And what was that possibility?"

"It could be that Sarah was also involved in those people and whatever happened till now was a part of her plan. I had told her that Leon does not want to live, I deduced that she is planning on killing Leon and would say that he committed suicide." I said

It's a lie that I made a while ago.

All this would not have happened if that stupid Sarah had left Leon at my house, or if she had given the phone to Leon when I called.

"And why did you go there?" Father asked

"If Sarah is with those people, she might think that since the news of the assassins has reached me, I will not go there due to fear of getting killed and she will get enough time to fulfill her purpose."

"After that?"

"I thought it would be best if I caught red handed, by doing so maybe we could also get the names of other people from her. And after this happened, there would be no danger to my life."

"Keep talking."

I told him a false but believable story in which there were no loopholes at all. He asked me questions one by one and I kept answering.

10 minutes later.

"Luca"

"Yes father."

"I'm disappointed in you. Your lie is too obvious."

He's testing me, I shouldn't be nervous. Act like you're telling the truth.

"I knew you wouldn't believe me, you-"

"Shut up you idiottt!!"

uhh, he'll tear my ears off.

"One of my men was with you the whole time. You went there to save Leon. You put your life in danger just to save a pawn, your guards told me everything. When that boy was shot in front of you, you ran towards him, clearly knowing that the next bullet could've hit you as well. If your guards had not caught you, you would've already dead by now."

I had hired all my guards myself, but he still got everything out of them. As expected of my father.

When Leon didn't received my call, I got quite stressed. Why not, he was the only person in this world who understood me. I felt that I would easily bring him home from there.

Father has seen me with Leon many times before. He often used to tell me that I should make such friends whom I can dispose of when the time comes.

I did exactly that. I made such friends whom I can dispose of when the time comes, except Leon.

And I couldn't even save him
