Soul Corporation (1015 Words)

Sitting on a chair in an office sits an average looking woman with dead brown eyes that stare unblinking at the blurry figure on the other side of the table.

"Sasha Bane, perished through a terminal disease after going on a rampage that claimed 52 lives, of which seven had a very bright future ahead of them." Looking up from the paper in front of him the blurry figure locks eyes with the woman now identified as Sasha.

"Kekeke, this little stunt of you costed you a great amount of karma. Do you know what that means for you?" The figure crackles evilly.

"Punishment." Sasha simply answers without a change in expression as she continues to stare in the blurry figure's eyes, or where they should be.

Tapping on the paper with his finger a wide grin with sharp teeth spread across the figures face.

"Exactly, but there's a problem. You my dear, are not under our jurisdiction. Which means neither I nor even my boss or his boss and even his bosses can lay a single finger on you~." These words cause a change in Sasha's expression, and she raised a single eyebrow.

"Under who's jurisdiction am I if not with yours?" It's a valid question after all this was the first death of Sasha and she didn't expect that there would be multiple groups responsible for the souls of people.

Still grinning the figure rests his head on one of his hands while propping his elbow on the table between him and Sasha.

"That would be Origin." It simply states which gains him a questioning tilt of Sasha's head prompting him to elaborate.

"You can interpret it like this, you are a first-generation soul and the organization I'm working in only has the means to handle the newer generation souls going from the second and up. Cases like you were not expected to appear as… something… happened and the first generation of souls kinda just puffed away." His explanation was accompanied with plenty of casual mimicry that made this whole conversation somewhat hard to take seriously.

"So, if no one is able to order me around or punish me what is going to happen now?" At this point a certain light had started glowing deep within Sasha's previously dead eyes.

"Well, normally I would just throw you out and be done with it. You would drift around the multiverse for a while and ultimately enter another reincarnation cycle where you then will live another life before dying and once again appearing before one of my kind only to be thrown out again. Not sure if you are the only one but there is no information on any encounters with someone like you with this organization, probably because everyone who meet one of you didn't bother to fill out a report about it as they aren't required to do so, after all you lot wouldn't go through any of the protocols." Sitting back up with a straight back and his fingertips placed against each other on the table the blurry figures grin turns into a cunning smile.

"But I have another idea that I would like to pursue." Sasha could almost smell the deceitful scheming behind that smile.

"And what would that be?" She asks with clear distrust in her voice.

"Ah~ don't be like that dear~, Im not planning anything bad, for you at least, Kekekeke." He says with a mock hurt tone.

"You see, I currently just so happen to be a pitiful low ranking office member of a multiverse spanning corporation dealing with souls. It would take millennia's just to be promoted a single rank~. In order to be promoted a worker has to farm contribution points that are gained through judging souls. There are many kinds of souls but of course there are those that give quite a bit more points than others~." At this point Sasha could already guess where this is going.

"So you want me to collect such souls and trade them with you so that you can get promoted faster?" She asks gaining a satisfied nod from the blurry being.

"Yep, that's about it. As for the trading thing, I will send you to different worlds with one of those systems that will serve as a bridge between us. Even though I am just one of the lowest ranking members of this corporation I still rank quite high on the power scale, so you won't have to worry about not getting anything good out of our trades, how about it my dear~? Interested?" It says as the wide grin returns.

After a moment of silent thinking Sasha made her decision.

"Sure, what you are doing isn't against any rules right? It's just a deal with an outside factor that you manage to profit from thanks to your own capabilities." A sly smile has made its way on Sasha's face as the light in her eyes began glowing brightly.

"Certainly so~." The blurry figures grin stretched even wider, and it reached over the table with one of its hands.

"Before I grab that hand of yours, I think it is time that you introduce yourself." Sasha says as she lifts her own hand.

"Kekekeke~ almost forgot, my name is Tenerberus Platinumias." He answers as Sasha grabs his hand and they exchange a firm shake before releasing each other again.

"Good, with that cleared I will now send you to your first stop. There are quite a few high value souls there so it should be a great place to spend some of your time, Oh right, I wont have to tell you how to get their souls right?" Tenerberus ask's only to see Sasha slowly drag a finger across of her neck.

Tenerberus chuckles before snapping his fingers causing Sasha to disappear in a flash of light.

"Kekekeke~ what a lucky encounter, I hope the best for our cooperation miss Bane~ kekekeKEKEKEKEKAKAKAKAKAK!!!!!!" The blurry Tenerberus breaks out into a manic fit of laughter before calming down and placing the paper containing Sasha's information into a folder labeled "
