Chapter 10: A Few Swings & A Few Strikes

~No One's P.O.V.~

Glaring at each other Axel and Dimitri both silently stood a little taller. Axel first reaction was to wrap his arm around her waist. In no way did he trust the man in front of him around the one of the few things he cares about. "I came here to talk to Jessie." "What do you want Dimitri?" Jessie asked him in a flat voice he didn't miss. "Can I talk to you alone for a minute?" "No." Axel cut him off. "Ax, it's ok you need to get ready for work why don't you do that and then come see me in the kitchen." She kissed his cheek. "You need to be getting gone when I leave. Non-negotiable angel." He told her. "Fine. Now go. Go get ready." She told him shoving him to her room. "Well then you better hurry your ass on up with me to the kitchen you have a time limit Mr. Moretti." She walked away leaving the door opened as he quickly shut it and followed her in.

He watched her put together a sandwich and some other things for lunch. "I know it doesn't mean much to you right now but Jessenia I am so, so sorry and I know nothing that I say or do will ever make up for what I did or the things that I've said to you or about Axel and I was wrong." Looking up to him she saw his face and noticed he looks like he hasn't slept for a few days. He looked just as good as he felt. "I don't even know how to make it up to you. I can't believe I actually did that to you. You know that's not who I am. I can swear to you that nothing like that will ever happening again and I only came by here to tell you that. To apologize to you and hope that maybe one day you will find in your big, beautiful heart to forgive me and maybe one day we can be friends again. You know how highly I think of you and it hurts me deeply to know I hurt you in any type of way. I am sorry Jes." He said one last time looking down eyes a little misty and hands in his pockets.

"I know you are D. I know what wasn't who you are. I know you were going through somethings but that will never give or be any reason for what you did to be ok. That being said. I do forgive you D." "Are you serious?" His eyes filled with hope. "Yes, but back to us being ok as friends that is going to be a bit of a bumpy road. It's going to weird for a while and there is nothing we can do about that but let time heal wounds. Also you need to understand that all we are going to be is just friends. I can't give you anything more than Dimitri. Honestly after all this I really don't want to on the honesty factor here. If that's going to be a problem for you then you should go ahead and walk out that door and not come back through it. Also you need to apologize to Axel. The things you said was completely out of line and unacceptable in any state sober or drunk. I don't want things to be awkward between a friend and my boyfriend anymore than they already are. This is a small town we all need to be adults and be able to get past things there's no need to hold on to pointless grudges do you understand where I am coming from?" Jessie asked him as soon as she was done with the lunch and putting it in cooler.

"So you two are a thing now?" Dimitri asked feeling heart brokenly to let down. "Yes we are. I won't have you disrespected our relationship. As long as you understand we will only be friend. Also you need to apologize to him as well or you can exit the way you came." She told him crossing her arms standing firm. "I can agree to those terms." "I don't need your apology Moretti just keep your damn hands to yourself. You're lucky she got to you instead of me. Just remember to stay in your lane." Axel warned him as Jessie whispered to him to be nice as he just growled to her. "I understand where he's coming from Jes. It's alright. Especially after everything. He has every right to be pist." Dimitri told him making Axel glare at him harder.

"Here you I made the four of you lunch today. Call me later." "You good today?" Making sure she would be ok once he's gone. "I'm good. Just lots of work to get through today." "Let us show you out." Axel said a little bitterly. "Ax." He gave her a look daring her to challenge him on this. Rolling her eyes she gave up. "Thanks for hearing me out Jes. Maybe you can send me a text whenever you're ready to start to talking to me again?" "Just give me a couple more days and then I'll be fine." She told him as he nodded and walked to his truck to leave.

"I don't like this. If he bugs you again you remember the pizza terms?" "Yes I do the angel shot pizzas. Clever and cute. Have a great day." "You want me to come back tonight?" He asked pulling her close to him. "Well if you find yourself a little lonely I got some room in the bed and some time for cuddles for later." Teasing hi back giving him sweet kisses. "Deal and done." Telling in between kisses. Walking back in and locking the door she couldn't help but shake the uncomfortable feeling she got, shaking it off and getting back to work.

Saturday morning and the guys from the team were all together doing some practices while the girls were still gathering some last-minute things and putting them in the new building. "Come on Hunter tighten up on the bat." Ryder hollered out as Axel pitched it straight through him. "Fuck you and your magic arm you damn prick." Hunter hollered making everyone else laugh. Axel was always the best pitcher in town. Besides Killian no one came close to him in any sporting event. "Alright ladies that's enough for the day let's go ahead and head out. Everything was great no need to meet tomorrow." Dalton called out. Everyone nodded. "Hey how about we go to a movie or dancing or something?" Elias asked them. "Yeah sounds great. I'll text Ari and run home. What is it you guys want to do?" "Let's just go bowling." Ryder suggested. "Sounds great. Well meet you at the lanes in like an hour?" Hunter asked them. All agreeing. They took off.

After getting everything settled he helped Jessie out of the truck. When his phone started ringing looking down at the screen he couldn't stop the frown forming from his face. "Go ahead babe this will only take a minute go ahead and get our shoes and I'll be right behind you." "Ok don't take too long." She teased walking in with Aria and Sienna. 'Yeah.' He answered her flatly on the last ring before voice mail. 'Oh thank God you answered. Hey is there any chance you would be willing to come check over my car it stuttered out and now it won't start. I'm at the mall parked towards the back like always.' 'Are you really serious right now Bells?'

'Well yeah why would I lie about something like this?' 'I don't know are you sure you want help from the local town asshole who's only good for a shag and dash?' He asked her in a bitter tone. 'Are you still mad about that? Ok look Axel I am sorry for what I said it was very wrong of me. That is not how I see you at all. I was just in a pissy mood and I should never have said anything like that to you or to Jessenia it was wrong. I was just trying to do what I thought was helpful for my friends and I was wrong. I am very sorry Axel.' Bella was starting to beg on the phone.

'You know what I know that Jessie forgave you because she's a great person. I know I have a lot to learn about forgiveness from her and hell even church tomorrow but that aint tonight and I aint ready to forgive you just yet. Why don't you call your own man or better yet pick up the phone and call your bestie Dimitri I'm sure a smart successful man like that knows all about cars and can have you out of there in a jiffy.'

'Axel wait you're really not coming.' She asked him right before he hung up on her. Sending a text to their other friend Keith her location and to get a new battery knowing the one she has was due to crap sooner or later. As mad as he was he would never leave her stranded but he didn't need to show up for someone just yet who thought so little of him he may still be a little bitter and feeling a little salty about it but he couldn't leave her hanging. He wouldn't want someone to do that to his angel. After Keith confirmed he was there and she had gotten home safely he began to have a little more fun with his friends.

It was the first morning Jessie was on time to church. "Told you, you'd be on time if you stayed with me." Axel murmured to her as his arm was wrapped around her on the pew. "Bite me." "Not now honey were in the house of the lord you dirty woman. Shame on you." Axel teased as they started laughing a little loud for his mother to glare back at them as they put their head down a little as he placed a kiss on her cheek making her blush also catching his mother's attention making her mind run wild happily. After church they did as they always did gather around to say good bye to everyone as they would head over to her parents' house. "Well kids hate to say it but we aren't having lunch at our place today." Caleb told them. "I'm sorry I couldn't hear you by the sound of something crazy coming out of your mouth there pop." Killian told him with a smile.

"No seriously we are going away and will be back Friday night so we can catch the baseball game Saturday. Your mom's speaking a t a conference all this week, and I am looking forward to some special alone time far from home." He winked. Hugging them closely they all wished them a safe trip. "Well I guess that means you guys are free for lunch with us then?" Dana came up happily. "Actually it's only Killian, Axel, Chloe, Maddie, and Jessie that are free the rest of us actually have some work to catch up on, but we can't wait to see y'all Saturday." Ryder told Dana as she waved them all off. "Oh I'm just so happy to finally have an afternoon with my babies we're meeting up with some of the other people down at the club." She perked up. "Why do I have to go again?" Jessie whispered to Axel as he helped her in his truck. "Well we together now baby, therefor we suffer together. Aren't we supposed to be doing thing with each other's family?" You ever hear me complain." He smirked.

"That's because you love my family because they love you more than me. You hate spending time with your mom." "Yeah but she loves you so much she'll ignore my existence as always so the only one who truly suffers my angel is you." He chuckled out. "Come on babe maybe it won't be so bad. I'll take you to the new book store." He bribed. "Fine." After pulling up to the restaurant they realized how big the tables were they could fit a few families. Killian, Maddison, and Chloe went to go sit with her parents the lucky bastards. She thought to herself except her sweet little Maddie. Axel helped her into her chair as Sean and Dana sat next to them. Surprising on to them Dimitri and his parents, and Natalie and her parents sat down at the same table. "Well guess everywhere is full." Jessie said with a smile as they perked up and smiled to her except Natalie who smiled at Axel who's face stayed hard to everyone except when he looked at Jessenia.

"Jessie it is so good to see you again dear how have you been?" Mrs. Moretti asked her smiling widely. "I have been well thank you how have y'all been?" "Aren't you sweet dear we've been well. That was such a good sermon today but it did wear me down with the heat kicking in now and all." "Got to love that summer weather." Dimitri told them with a smile looking around for Jessie to give a small one back. No need to make things awkward. "I've always loved fall." Sean stated looking ordering to the waiter. "Me too." "Me too." Axel and Jessie said at the same time looking at her kissing the back of her hand. "Pasta?" He asked her as she nodded. "Can we please have one lasagna with no ricotta cheese, and one chicken broccoli alfredo both with green salads, ranch on the side as well as an extra side of Italian dressing as well as the garlic bread sticks not the French bread and two sweet teas please. Thank you." "I don't think I've ever seen you order anything whenever Axel is around." Sean said with a wink to Jessie.

"Well what can I say he knows me better than anyone. I never have to really choose because he gives me the best of both worlds." She laughed. "Yeah I'm sure you're used to that." Natalie mumbled loud enough for only Dimitri and Axel to hear who just glared at her. Axel passed he a napkin and spoke only loud enough for her and Dimitri to hear. "You might one to get that, it seems you got some shit coming out of your mouth." Making Dimitri spit out his drink in laughter all over her as her face was caught in shock trying to clean herself up. "Sorry, I'm sorry." Dimitri told her trying to contain himself. "What did you do?" "Just being nice and telling her she had something on face angel don't worry so much." He waved off. "So Jessenia I was wondering if you aren't too busy why don't you go back to dinner with Dimitri?" Mr. Moretti asked her. "Dad." Dimitri tried to shh him.

"Well I'm sorry sir that won't work. Dimitri and I are just friends also I already have a boyfriend." "Really whose the lucky man?" Mrs. Moretti asked in a fake happy tone. "Axel." She said with her hand still in his like it was obvious maybe it wasn't with how close they've been." "REALLY?" "Like that Axel?" Dana asked happily in shock. All the parents except Sean was surprised. "Do you know any other?" Sean asked his wife like she was dumb. "Oh my goodness that is just so wonderful." Dana clapped her hands in happiness thanking the lord he grabbed the best girl in town from everything from high social class, to beautiful, to smarts.

"Well good for you guys." Mr. Jones told them looking at his upset daughter. "So Jessenia you are opening your practice soon right? That must be really time consuming." He asked her cutting into his fish. "Yes and no. I still will be doing some surgeries at the hospital couple days of the month. I make and set my own schedule so it's kind of nice." "That must be so hard balancing such a demanding job. With the on-call night calls from all over, and the publicity you must be receiving for finishing another article in the Medicine Journals. It's amazing how you still have time to make time or even a dinner for the hardest working sheriff in town." Mrs. Jones added in a fake compliment voice that Natalie could smirk for.

"Yeah my angel works hard but she's amazing at making time and effort for those most important to her. I'm even lucky enough she makes lunch for not only me but my squad at least three times a week. I love her cooking. This sweet woman right here why we got to hit the gym so much for P.T. You guys know what I'm talking about though you all have had her pastries at the churches bake sells." Axel boosted as his dad smiled proud of his son for taking the high road. "I hear you have a new case you are working so hard on from the papers it looks like you guys are going to be going through a lot of late nights and long shifts. Maybe Natalie could make you all something to keep you brave working bees going." Mrs. Jones offered out.

"No that won't work ma'am." "Why not? Mr. Jones questioned him. "Well for starters Natalie has destroyed three microwave ovens by putting silverware and foil in it. She and Amber have lit the coffee pot on fire. Yes they literally burn water, the we actually had to throw out the toaster for reason we can't even explain because we can't tell to this day what they got stuck in there. I would be absolutely terrified to let either Natalie or Amber near any oven or open stove. Life is too short to die so young." Axel told them.

"I agree with Axel on that. I remember the muffins and cookies Amber made for the bake sell." Dimitri told them with a shiver. "It wasn't that bad." Natalie told them flatly. "The kids were skipping the muffins like rocks at the stream and even cracked their tooth." Dimitri argued back. "The dog I tried to give my cookie to just started licking his butt. The ants left like a whole foot radius around the damn thing." Axel was chuckling out.

"Well I think it was nice of her to put the effort she did and try. What was it that you guys made and brought?" Jessie asked them. Making everyone even Natalie smirk at them. "We're sorry that was mean." Dimitri told the table. "Nope." Axel said shaking his head to her. "So are you guys ready for the game Saturday?" Mr. Moretti asked the boys. "Always ready sir." Axel said smiling. "I'm looking forward to it. Haven't played since college." Dimitri said with a smile. "I remember those games." Jessie said with a smile. "Guess I can't really cout on you still cheering my corner this time huh? With so many other better people to be calling out for." Dimitri said sadly attitude that pist off Jessie and Axel immediately.

"Well I don't see how good I would be there. I mean you always have Amber rooting for you right? Besides we all know how bad you are with names." Jessie told him looking at him with a knowing sarcastic smirk for Axel to spit out his drink in laughter as Natalie mouth dropped with Dimitri. "Look at the time. We better go if we want to catch up on that paper work and rush traffic back home. Thank you all for the very lovely lunch." Axel said dropping more than their share down plus a tip.

Dimitri sitting back in shock wondering how she found out to start glaring at Natalie who refused to look up to him. "Well that was weird?" Dana brushed off. As they both got up and left just the parents at the table. "Well I got to say I would never have pictured them two together. They always reminded me of platonic affection." Mr. Jones stated. "I just don't see how he could pass over Natalie for someone who chooses to stay so plain looking I mean she is the face of medicine but she can't dress the part so sad." Mrs. Jones stated. "I think she looks beautiful it's not a lot of young women who can rock the natural look. It's such a shame to have to hide behind so many pounds of caked up make up." Sean told her back with a fake smile tilting his head.

'Surely you can't think they would have much in common. I mean she would much rather be suited with someone like, well like your son Dimitri so many common interest." Mrs. Jones stated. "No one is more suited for my son the Jessie. She has it all from beauty, grace, class, intelligence. Not many women her age can cook, clean, handle fund raisers and galas and still be able to take a gallbladder out before dinner needs to be on the table. I'm proud Axel has such good judge of character and could not be more happy for him. If you excuse us it's time we head back as well the heat seems to be getting to us all." Dana snipped to the four jealous parents as Sean stood proud of his wife then again they both loved Jessenia, he just needed Dana to show that love and effort to Axel.

The days flew by as the baseball game came around the crowd was big as usual as there wasn't a whole lot going on even some folks from the city come down to see it then again most of them would be other fire fighters or cops for extra bragging rights. Seems every year it's mainly females for obvious reasons as all the men were well built and over half were single. Both Dalton and the fire chief agreed if they did lose the game we would be selling the twelve months of shame calendar for the proceeds to also be donated down to the children's ward of the hospital to be divided by the cancer and burn units. The regular money that gets donated gets pulled from a hat rather it would be for paying for people's stay in rehab homes after surgeries, hospital stays, elderly help or health care, children things such as new play equipment or new equipment for doctors down at the hospitals jus things everyone needs at one point or the other it goes to something different each time which helps everyone around us.

That's the whole point of all this friendly games to help our community and help us bond bring us together we also take extra donations at the stands where hot dogs and trip tip sandwiches get sold but the high school takes care of that and the booster clubs from FFA, sports, and the marching band does different things to help out and they keep whatever they make. Bets are even taken by anyone over 21 at the door the winner does not get the money though it also goes to the charity but again the winner gets more bragging rights the schools give out coupons to the winning betters, or little items they had made like badges or glowing the dark flash bracelets.

It normally is always a good day. Except the drunk young women always get a few fights in the parking lot or stands. No one ever presses charges or make a deal about it since again it's just the alcohol and no damage is ever really done they don't normally take it to far besides pushing, a few slaps and hair pulling anyways. The men always get a rise out of it so everyone just brushes it off. Both stations always get along pretty well since we all grew mostly with each other there's rarely ever any fights between us unless it's in the parking lot over a chick like someone sleeping with a guys or ex or sister one time someone else's aunt that one was interesting. Hell even I was grossed out the power of alcohol strikes again on bad judgement.

A lot of the girls would wear our old baseball or sports jerseys from high school, or our military branch shirts that have our names on the back to show their support. We have jerseys for our station too so they normally stick with the extra ones of those. Like my happy woman bopping around getting a soda to sit back in the stands with my parents hers and the girls with their families talking and laughing away as we started warming up and stretching. Shh had already left her medical bag down behind the gate of home plate there is always an ambulance driver on standby because you never know what could happen between breaking a leg, some older person getting heat stroke. Someone catching a foul ball with their face anything really so Jessie and Dimitri both being doctors agreed to help on sight even if they waved the ride to the hospital they would still be able to be seen best they could on sight.

The only issues had today was two officers from his team that were already pushing his buttons earlier got to love when people use their job as an abuse of power however being so high up on the food chain Axel did love putting them in their place. They seemed to be around a lot lately in places they shouldn't be it's about time Dalton has a little talk with them or else he was going to start cutting their shifts. He can't have men on staff not following their post orders that only leads to less man power and more problems. With all the head way he has been making with getting closer to the person making and selling this new dangerous drug around he really couldn't afford that.

Axel and his crew were already tired from finding an old cabin that was actually storing a lot of the damn thing they had to have the city come collect all the evidence for them since three full bedrooms of the cabin was full of it unfortunately the prints they found only belonged to the pushers they already arrested who wouldn't talk on who their other suppliers and dealers are who were pushing and receiving the product. He was starting to get irritated every time he got a step forward it was like to steps back. Luckily he had a good support system so he wouldn't strain or stress to hard. Jessie was almost ready to open the week off she wanted to give the girl is looking more like a three-day weekend together as the girls now which none of them minded since the girls get the week off it's only Jessie who has to make sure everything is up and running.

He was walking back across the field to his side of the dug out when he slammed into Isabella holding a catcher's glove in her hold. neither of them looking where they were going. "I'm sorry." "I'm so sorry." They said at the same time with a small chuckle. "Axel." She told him before he started to walk away. Turning to look at her without saying a word. "I know you're still mad at me and that's ok because I'm mad at me too; but I am sorry. I know it'll take you a few days to cool down but I need you to know I don't see you that way. I also know you sent Keith to help me I am very thankful for you Axel. You are one of my best friends and I will remember that better in the future. Good luck today." She told him with a sad smile. "Bella I know it was you who sent the butterscotch scones." She smiled to him. "You still suck at baking." He winked to her walking away for her to leave her mouth opened slightly offended but laughing because she knew he was right.

The game was going great Axel pitching compared to Mateo's was the leading up to be the perfect game based on their skills. The two pinheads have been trying to make cheap shots all day when they really didn't them they were up by three points it was 11-8 and they were naturally better than the fire squad. Conner and Trent kept drinking heavily hard on their weird water bottles and it was starting to raise Axel's and Ryder's attention. "Trent you better reel it in stop pulling your fucking shit." Axel warned as team captain.

Dimitri was up on the bat both of them glaring at each other he got the first two strikes when he pooped up it out field where Ryder who threw it to Hunter threw it to Conner who slammed right into Dimitri with both arms right after Dimitri already had his foot on the first base. "Safe." An ump called out. "Dude what the hell?" Dimitri asked him angrily getting himself off the ground with the help of Enzo who looked angry at the man on his teammate. "What? It aint my fault you toss over so easy princess try eating some more steak." Conner shrugged to him. "Watch your fucking mouth prick. Sorry Moretti he's just a dick try not to let him get to you. Let me warn you it could be an all-day job." Enzo warned him warning rolling his eyes.

As Leo got up next Axel got him with the first and second strike but Leo got a good hit on the third one. Hunter got it and threw it to Trent who got tagged Dimitri before he got to the third base but he slammed him the same way Conner just did. "Dude what the hell is your guy's problem?" Dimitri asked him getting angry getting tossed to the ground by yet another asshole. "What the hell is your problem princess? What's got your panties in a bunch?"

"What the hell your supposed to tag a player not slam them in the damn ground." Dimitri snapped back. "Dude why so defensive dude you sound like you need to get laid. Oh wait that's' right you got passed over right? I could see why she needed to upgrade up to a real man as quick as you hit the floor" Trent asked him in a low voice taunting him. "Fuck you man. You don't know shit." Dimitri shoved him back angry as hell. Trent threw down his glove at threw his punch at Dimitri who ducked him easily. Dimitri punched him right in the face breaking his nose. "Oh fuck! You prick!" Axel came right up. "Enough Trent!" Right as Trent threw the punch that hit Axel in his cheek, which felt like a love tap compared to strong Axel really was.

Looking straight down at the man who now look a little scared. "Mr. Moretti would you like to press charges on Trent here for assault?" Axel asked Dimitri without breaking eye contact making him look at him wide eyed. Looking at him intently. "No. Just keep adman muzzle over his damn mouth." Dimitri growled out to him. "Fuck you bitch." Conner added. "Wheeler, Tregger get the hell off the field your suspended right now without pay until a proper review can be appointed. Give Dalton your gun and badge on the way home today." Axel told them gritting his teeth trying to reel in his anger. "

What? Fuck no for what?" Trent added as Ryder came walking up with water bottles. "Well for starters you got open vodka in your water bottles in a family park that's a violation. You already know that. Two you used unnecessary force on this man while you are on the clock representing our station, and you hit him another violation and three you can never explain to me why you are not at your post when you show up to scenes you are not supposed to be in. Do I need to go on or do you get the point. As both groups were starting to surround them at this point now.

"You think you can just come and take our badges you little prick I aint scared of your big weak little ass." Conner popped off. "You think you just all hard core because you think you're the boss you aint shit bitch." Trent added as he took another swing and missed and hit Dimitri who at this point just started to hit him back rolling around on the floor hitting each other. Conner took a swing at Axel at the same time and hit his shoulder being too drunk to notice where the face was. Axel did his best not to swing back.

He took his hand and shoved him away from him as Jessie came down with her bag to try to get to Trent who's nose was still bleeding everywhere also Dimitri was now with a cut above his eye bleeding and crack in his lip. Conner got up and tried to attack Axel from the back as he went to get Dimitri off of Trent. When Jessie pushed him making Conners fist slam across Jessie's face. Turning around looking at Jessie holding her face and Conner picking himself up off the ground. "Watch it you fucking bitch." He growled to her. "Fuck you, you asshat." She told him back. Axel turned around grabbed Conner by the throat and lifted him a few feet off the ground like he weighed nothing.

"YOU EVER LAY YOUR HAND OR RAISE YOUR VOICE ON ANOTHER WOMAN! LET ALONE MY WOMAN I WILL END YOU WHERE YOU STAND DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME BOY?!" The whole crowd went silent as Dimitri and Trent got off each other and stood back. Axel then place him hard on the ground on his stomach placing zip ties from his pockets connect them like cuffs to his hands. "Dalton their all yours." As he had other men get them into the squad cars. "What you want me to do with them?" He asked with a smirk.

"Transfer them out if you can't get them gone you fire them. They are suspended until they leave our station." Axel told him flatly. "Ok that's reasonable let's do that. After dealing with the two idiots he went to look at the game that got called letting them still win since there was only three minutes of the game left anyway. Looking up he saw a scene making him feel uncomfortable. Dimitri and Jessie were both laughing sitting across to each other real close dressing the wounds on their faces. Walking up to them she smiled deeply to him.

"How you doing babe?" He asked her as he took her chin in his hand checking over her face to see a good slash on her cheek. "He was wearing a ring." Dimitri told him which made him only growl. "You don't ever do that again angel." "Nope, I'm not going to sit back and watch some clown sneak up on you like that who knows what else they could have on them. "Exactly Jessie you don't know what else they could have on them. No offense love but my body is as rough as leather I can hits like that. You aren't. Besides you want to know what else they had on them this." Axel held up an evidence bag holding a few of the new drug they've been tracking which he gave to Keith.

"You have some weeding to do there stud muffin." She told him sadly only for him to nod in agreement. "You alright?" Axel asked Dimitri using his sheriff tone knowing he's just doing his job. "Fine. After getting dressed for work she had an early surgery at the hospital this morning taking out someone's bladder and a tumor around it luckily it wasn't a bad tumor she thought to herself as she finished cleaning the dishes. She was stopped in the hall as two men who were holding guns was yelling at a person in the lab on the fourth floor. Sending a page to security and Axel it wasn't long before hospital went into a lock down with the lights and sounds only she couldn't get out of the hall quick enough as the doors sealed her shut. Now the only people with her was four people in the lab being held hostage and the two crazy men with guns. They were screaming at the people now in front of them about who outed them being there. A gun shut went off as screams were heard.

The doors opening wide from the lab to the only part where Jessie was trying to hide. "We got another one Sage! It was this bitch who called us in." "Wait, I know this one. This is the one he got a hard on for. Where the fuck is he?" The man who was called Sage asked coming up grabbing Jessie by the hair pulled back so hard she was looking up and he held the gun up under her jaw. Jessie was doing her best to stop her body from shaking. "WHERE IS HE?!" "Who are you looking for?" "YOU KNOW DAMN WELL WHO! You're little boy toy where is he? We know damn well he is here today or at least he will be now that you are here. I'm sure he'll come running to us." Sage roared to her. "He thinks he can just come around and cut us off, he got another thing fucking coming. Wonder what he'll do when he find out about you being here with us? Kicking her in her stomach. Shooting at her stomach causing it to graze her side blood starting to come off it now. Picking her up by her throat and slamming her up against the wall as her vision was starting to get a little fuzzy she heard a door opened quickly as a gun went off she felt her body hit the ground. Another gun fire off. She felt a body fall next to her. She could not see well anymore trying to catch her breath. "What the fuck do you two think you're doing?" She heard a familiar male voice asked. "You think you can just cut us out and off the damn job well let's see how well you comply after I pump a few rounds into the bitch." She heard two guns go off and a loud thump. All of a sudden the lights and sounds stopped and she felt a thundering herd of footsteps around her as her body felt the warm tingles she was used to the familiar smell of him. "It's ok angel I got you. I'm here. Moretti help me. Get her into the room." Axel called out as a bunch of men hurried around everywhere, as everything around her faded to black.

After I got Jessies text about men with weapons in the hospital and after she was sealed in shut with them my heart felt like it was ripped into two pieces one beating in my throat and one dropped dead into my stomach. I had to go in there with a clear head. Leading the men up we came all the way in and by the time we got near we could see her get slammed up high enough to try to be fighting him off. We still had feet to go to get to her and we were all moving as fast as our legs could get us there. Then the craziest thing happened the back doors which should not have been activated to open opened, and then we heard yelling and about three rounds go off she was no longer in my line of vision and I felt my world spinning. I took one hard quick and got through the door to see Dimitri standing over two dead men. I quickly made my way over to Jessie picking her up and looking her over I could see blood just coming out of her side calling Dimitri to come tend to her. I was so thankful to see just a simple graze wound. We had her cleaned and patched up quickly. Hunter and Ryder were talking to the other two hostages. As Enzo and Keith were going over the four dead bodies.

"When will she wake up?" Axel asked him not taking his eyes off her as she was laying in the bed holding her hand. "I don't know I think the panic attack mixed with the lack of oxygen her mind shut down to protect itself so maybe a couple of hours, maybe tomorrow, maybe thirty minutes form now it all depends on Jes man. I can't answer that. " How did they get this far inside that room with no one noticing? They got into that room with codes. Someone was working with them." "I don't know how they got this far in." I didn't even think I went up there and turned off the oxygen to that section she was in because no one up there is on it anyway on the second floor. We can't have those idiots shooting up there with oxygen on. No one needs today. I was able to see her, as the sick bastard was running the gun on her face. I was able to get the door opened. Next thing I know I found a gun one of them dropped and fired it trying to go for his shoulder but her he turned I got his collar bone and he his neck hit that rolling metal rack it snapped his neck as he fell. His partner came in shot at me and I was able to move I was going for the shoulder he tripped as he fired and as he fell I got him in the chest. Apparently the lung form what I could gather. I swear it was self-defense." Dimitri told him in a low voice.

"I believe you I was watching the security footage while you were patching her up. Everything is as you said happened. What's not clear is who the hell gave them the codes to get up here. Who would do this to my sweet angel?" Axel growled out in anger. Holding her had closer to him as he placed sweet kisses to her forehead. "What was so important they would go to that lab there's a lab on every floor, why this one what could they have possibly been looking for?" So they thought they would come down here and like the addict looking for the fix wanted to get something they can use against this guy not knowing what that could have been until the saw Jessie.
