"Father, who were you looking for just now?" Lora asked.
Hugh paused for a few seconds, glanced at Marcus beside him, and sighed, "I was checking if Shadow was with you."
"Yes, he's playing with Van."
"I've already told Marcus about this. Shadow, he is a chimera."
When the abyss appeared on the Mermaid Planet, Hugh took people there, and they went inside once, getting injured in the process.
Fortunately, they were helped and treated by Granny Yale.
Granny Yale deeply missed her deceased lover. Hugh thought for a moment and went to the Sacred Gate of Abyss again.
That's when he saved the barely alive Shadow from inside.
At the time of his rescue, Shadow was still young, appearing to be in their teens, weak as if a gust of wind could blow them away.
Having lost his own daughter and encountering this situation with the childlike Shadow, Hugh couldn't help but feel sympathetic and brought them back.
Later, he learned that Shadow was not an orc.
