Start of an adventure

"You're quite early," said Professor Oak while he was putting Pokeballs in the open display case.

"I know, I said to come early, but you, you are three hours early," with a slight chuckle, he turned to the young man in front of him.

"I wanted to actually choose, I heard of what happened to a trainer last year, ended up getting a Pikachu instead of a starter."

With a sound of a click, his newly obtained and registered Pokedex opened up.

"This unite belong to Xavier Sakaki of Pallet Town." It started while the spherical orb lit upon each word.

With a nod, he placed it in the sleeve of his jacket.

"Well, I'm supposed to wait for all of you to be together for one explanation, but I can't have you wait so long can I."

He pushed up the table to the podium and showed a, 'Come here' gesture.

Xavier followed unto the podium in front of the Pokeballs, "Now, if you point your Pokedex at these Pokeballs, It will show their information."

He followed and pointed his Pokedex at the middle ball.

"Charmander a flame burns at the tip of its tail from birth, it is said that it dies whenever it the flame goes out."

He frowned a bit before pointing at the left, " Bulbasaur it bears the seed of a plant on its back from birth, the seed slowly develops."

"Professor, so types and such are not being stated?"

He asked, a little frustrated from the lack of information.

"Oh, you are supposed to put in full information mode, here."

He said while pressing and holding the flashing light," Try it."

"Alright," he pointed towards the right Pokeball.

"Squirtle, A water-type Pokemon, this Turtle Pokemon draws its long neck into its shell and launch water attacks with amazing range and accuracy, these blasts can be quite powerful."

"Hmm, slightly better."

The Professor was a bit offset by his dissatisfaction, 'Everyone else loved it...'

"You can take some time and choose, you have plenty." He informed while going back upstairs,

"I already have a choice," Xaiver reached forward with his hand, it was gloved hiding the features of it, the glove was pitch-black with thickness not seen in most gloves.

He grabbed and pressed the button of the right Pokeball, a white light emerged as it opened into a shape before dissipating, revealing a four-legged green toad-like animal with a blub on its back.

Reaching out and rubbing its head, contrary to its appearance, it's a dry, kind of rough, it was off-putting to him.

"Mom you here?" He called out into the dim house, he looked around a bit before deciding to go out the door.

A sudden voice called out behind him,

"Oh, your back," It was a middle-aged woman with pitch-black hair spiky hair, it was a longer wilder version of Xavier's, reaching all the way to her back.

"Hey, Xavier, this your new Pokemon, I can't believe you chose Bulbasaur."

He shrugged as he said, "Yeah, the best choice as I saw it."

"Bulba..." It called out somewhat quietly.

She was a little disappointed, as a Bulbasaur doesn't really have that awe factor as Charmander or Squirtle.

"You're leaving today?"

She placed the package she had in her arms on the table,

"I am, a day early, and it's an extra day to prepare." He recalled Bulbasaur

He looked at the package with a curious eye, wondering what's in there.

"Today huh..." She trailed off as she opened the package.

Revealing a belt with different slots in it, and 5 normal Pokeballs.

Xavier was a little surprised, he was expecting to buy them when he reached Viridian city when he reached there.

"I know, most people go out on their journeys around your age, and most times forget about their own safety."

She looked a little somber when she said, she wasn't even entirely focused on him.

"Please, keep safe, even you let someone else die, at least you are safe..."

Wrapping her arms around Xavier and pulling him close, he also reciprocated.
