It's Back

It's been 30 hours since they started to climb the Zagreus and now Ethan is alone back in the wagon traveling to an unknown city on an alien planet.

aarti and atin left to be with their uncle since breakfast and he had a lot of time to process what happened.

There were many strange thoughts about how it happened, his guess was that the eclipse affected the temperature and gravity of the mountain, the cave was some supernatural place and lightning that struck the crystal activated it, Functioned like some faraday cage that brought them here.

In the end it didn't matter how it happened, now he has to go to this city, get to know how things work around here, find others then he can come back and try to find a way home.

That was the plan anyway but for it to work the first thing he needs is money, he can sell some stuff from backpack when he reaches the city like the maldars trying to sell his ice axe and get some quick cash but it wouldn't last him long.

He needs to find a job and a place to stay, too much to do, he should take things as they come thinking about them wouldn't help.

he was getting hungry now, in the past 30h all he ate was some dear meat/Soup .

Reaching his hand to his backpack, he grabbed a Charlotte bar, obviously these people didn't know what his stuff was, the curtains of the wagon were drawn so he wasn't worried about someone seeing him,

As soon as he opens the chocolate bar, the same golden light that he saw in the cave rushes out of nowhere at him and grabs it.

Eaton was startled and made a scream;

"aaaaah"

Belut who was driving the wagon pulls the curtain away and looks at Ethan with worry and ask;

"What's the matter?"

Ethan looked at the fairy who was eating the chocolate bar in the middle of the wagon with a blessed expression to belut worried face and realised that she couldn't see her or the chocolate bar that it becomes less by every bites that the creatures take and said;

"It's nothing, just had a nightmare"

Belut didn't say anything just acknowledged it with 'hm' let go of the curtain and kept driving the wagon.

Ethan seeing that she didn't persist in the matter sight in relief.

Ethan brought his attention to the fairy who is still eating the chocolate bar, curiosity got the best of him and he tried to touch the fairy with his finger and understand what it's made of.

She stopped eating and bit his finger, he was surprised and withdrew his finger, it made a satin that healed quickly.

Apparently he can touch the creature while she's eating maybe phasing through stuff it's just a defense mechanism and despite the fiery look it's not hot at all.

it didn't take long for it to finish the chocolate and after eating it, she just laid on the wagon surface like she was full.

He had to give it to her, if anything she was persistent and patient, she waited all this time for him to open the chocolate package to make her move and God she just ate triple of her size.

Ethan didn't know what she could do except phasing but having magical creatures by your side at the cost of a few chocolate bars he owns wasn't a bad idea so he spoke in a hush tone;

"hi little girl, do you want more?"

the fairy hearing his words became energetic and standing up she kept nodding with pleading eyes.

she was cute and adorable, obviously she could understand him, the question was could he understand her? so he asked;

"what's your name?"

she spoke some words that he couldn't figure out what it meant, it sounded like she was speaking in a fast tone.

"I'm sorry, it seems I don't understand"

until now he understood every language these people spoke and he could speak in their native language so he tested something new.

"can you understand me?"

this time he spoke in English to his surprise the fairy just nodded.

if she could understand English does that mean belut and others can do too or just her.

again with questions that he couldn't answer for now should keep this creature happy so he opens another Charlotte bar and gives it to her.

after finishing the second one she flew to his backpack and slept on it, Ethan tried to touch her again but it was useless and his hand passed through her yet again.

it was lunch time and Ethan hadn't eaten anything yet, These people didn't seem to want to stop any time soon and he couldn't eat the chocolate bars if he wanted to keep them for the fairy.

so the only option was tuna's fish, as he was about to get some, The back of the wagon curtain was drawn and aarti came in with a plate in her hand and said;

"my uncle said we aren't stopping to reach the city and I should give this to you"

it was some crushed boiled eggs with bread on top of it and from it's look seemed they cooked more than a deer this morning.

she left immediately after giving him the food, It seemed like she had something to do.

the food wasn't dolled and the taste was good unlike its look and he could save tuna's for another time.

after eating he laid down on the wagon and put his hands under his head and closed his eyes for a minute.
