According to those within the Metal room, a special unit has been engaging with enemies in contest for the needed things to revive Cobalt, as well as any special items they can get their hands on... accordingly special items are permanent and stay even if the original event is completed, disbanded, failed, or other such situations... it's not known as to what these special items do, but likely something special... hence the name.
Until the " Operatives " track down and collect all the items, we have to make sure the ones they get their hands on aren't destroyed, lost, or taken by a member of Origin now that the war event is in full effect. As mentioned before, its unlikely anything like this has happened before... and I'm not likely to survive. If I do happen to survive, I'll write a letter to my country about my survival... and get a mug of mead.
I may be underage, but according to Morin law... those who fight in war or work in various deadly circumstances like mining, lumbering, hunting, big game fishing, draking... I'm getting off topic, anywho I'm going to get myself some mead.
My father loved Mead, it was supposedly his favorite drink... I dread trying it for the first time, I'm not certain I'll like it... and if I don't then I can be assured my father would be disappointed.
To continue on organizing our current ' Defence force ', constructing large defences has been under way... such beautiful terrain was teared away to defend the area around the tree, this area will be our main gathering area... supplies and soldiers will be moved here constantly to the demands of the defence.
Teams of Alchemists are currently overhauling production of poisons, tars, potions, even something called ' Napalm ' which apparently is similar to liquid fire that sticks to your skin... unpleasant to say the least.
Our main builders are the Engineers, the defence bonuses they can get to mechanical arts is additional strength to the walls and barricades we are building, meanwhile we are also stockpiling gunpowder, which is used in canons and artillery as far as I know.
We have a few chefs, preparing meals for everyone everyday... getting our stats up to get these projects done as fast as possible.
Summoners, Tamers, Necromancers, and other various types of being creationists are scouting out a perimeter along with their mounts, we get plenty of reports every day about men with weird marks... and we respond by having one of the insectoids fire large scale magic directly at it.
Along with organising a large portion of military forces with the samurai lady, I also have to take turns watching the metal room... apparently its of up most importance for it to be watched by at least 4 personnel of those in the metal room, or that Arch fellow that gave me V.I.P. status.
This time however, I'm alone.
I'm to watch The Dragon until the metal room people get back from a large importance mission, leaving only a few of us; Rizen, Arch, and Me to manage the soldiers and watch The Dragon... unfortunately for Rizen though, he's currently shedding his skin... and for Arch, he's watching the soldiers.
So... I'm alone, not to reiterate or anything... but semantics aside, this is quite the scary endeavour... as I can't touch anything here, or I'll likely die.
If I leave so much as a fingerprint on Cobalt, then it would be considered treason... but I'm very curious... who is he really like? I've only seen him formally, and that was years ago... beyond that, its clear he hasn't been touched since he has been placed here.
His pose is that of a sleeping giant, he is wearing nothing but a purple shirt and some form of pants, with a little of his gut poking out... his hand resting on top of it. His other is placed behind his head, but something beyond that hand is propping his head up... do I dare...
The curiosity within me is boiling, and I even see within his pockets objects of unknown origin, and so... I reach behind his head.
Its small and leathery, with various engravings and... it seems to be a bound book.
I lay his head back to rest as naturally as I can, and I take the object... to confirm, it is a book... likely something important, I hope its use is beyond superficial.
[ Cobalt's (( Memoire )) ]
[ Rank: ---- ]
[ Desc. A list of important facts and knowledge Cobalt now keeps around him in case of memory loss, something that happens often... it is likely secret to the point where he hasn't likely told anyone of it. ]
Inspection of the spell book yields high results, such literature from Cobalt must be of high value... I wonder as to why it was secret, and beyond that why it wasn't touched...
Was it... meant for me?
Was I destined to find this?
I was deemed important by those within the Metal Room, is this it?
I ponder such thoughts as I open the notebook... I see torn pages and crossed out paragraphs of information, as well as multitudes of different diagrams... theories, techniques, and important people and events.
After I skim through a few of the pages... I notice that large amounts of information listed at the begining is notably crossed off, compared to the end where most data isn't...
Any who... this is full of things that I don't think even the most practised mages would consider... alchemical techniques beyond mortal comprehension... notes on the strongest beings, some I've never even heard of... names of places and creatures perfect for getting stronger, places for gathering material, notes of goals...
The knowledge within overwhelms my brain, this isn't just a savior... this isn't just a dragon, this isn't the legendary Crimson or the Ice Crusader anymore... he's... more... he has over 50 pages of notes and drafts for single projects, and as I flip the pages... I make no distance through the book, it goes on and on... like I could read this forever.
" The World drew silent for me, within the Greatest Black... Ruby of Origin, red as blood that spilt from my hands, force the whip behind my back... The World grew loud in anger, and I was cut away from chains... and the world. "
Ruby of Origin... the name is familiar...
I continue reading...
" I was blessed to receive a second life... my rights to live were none, and I continued anyhow.... my wounds mended as I gathered strength, I met Dice... a Centipede, with her I gained attachment to the world once again... and later came Asi. "
Centipede... does he mean one of those insectoids? Which one of them is which I wonder, but beyond that... I'm clueless as to who Asi is...
" The Summon reminded me of my life before digitalization, my little sister... in every way, she was similar... I met Arch, I met his friends... and then I lost Asi... my memory of her was removed, but later returned. I gathered more strength... Syn the Turret and Anise the Spider, that's when I met Mordova, Ice Goddess. "
Mor- Mordova!?!?!
So my fathers tale are true! This man was in cohorts with divine beings! Interesting... Its interesting to say the least... I suppose.
" I'm a Shade of what I used to be, but a shadow isn't without light... with Crimson fully gone, I was left on my own with only my notes and knowledge... my determination to enjoy life again is pulling me forward, but as I go... I realise just attempting to do as such gives me enjoyment... but can I make amends for my sins? "
