Chapter 63

The movie wasn't very long.

Combining both original films, they only totaled a little over four hours. With Mark's advance editing, removing many less important parts, it was shortened to about half an hour.

The remaining content consisted mainly of three parts:

First, a video segment in the sewer where Dr. Lizard detailed his future plans;

Second, the ending of the first film where Dr. Lizard fought Andrew Spider atop Osborn Industries, and Gwen's father, George Stacy, sacrificed himself, leaving final words with Andrew Spider;

Third, a segment cut from the second film, where Green Goblin dropped Gwen Stacy from the sky, and Andrew Spider desperately tried to save her but failed, leading to a scene of him sobbing over her lifeless body.

Originally, Mark intended to include the "creation methods" of the Lizard, Electro, and Green Goblin, as well as Andrew Spider's parents' deaths.

However, he realized it wouldn't add much entertainment value since once you knew their creation methods, precautions could be taken. Moreover, including the deaths might make it too intense, especially if Andrew Spider became corrupted.

So, he decided to leave those parts out.

Even so, the existing three segments of the video were enough to shock Andrew Spider and Gwen Stacy.

While there were some differences in the details between them and the people in the videos, it was obvious that those were them!

"Is this our future?" Gwen Stacy's voice trembled.

Seeing her father's tragic death in Andrew Spider's arms was heart-wrenching for her.

Andrew Spider, on the other hand, focused on two other aspects:

His long-lost friend, Harry Osborn, turning into the Green Goblin!

And Gwen's death!

Hearing Gwen Stacy's question, he turned to Mark with a nervous expression.

He desperately hoped it was fake.

Mark nodded. "This was the future that would have been yours if I hadn't come."

Andrew Spider was momentarily stunned, then his expression relaxed.

"Mark, with you here now, we can change the future, right?"

Though his words were affirmative, his tone revealed his lack of confidence.

Mark didn't offer too much encouragement, saying, "It all depends on your determination."

"Determination," Andrew Spider hesitated.

Mark continued, "Exactly! Will you use your power to defeat your enemies, protect the people you care about, or will you stand idle until it's too late to regret? The choice is in your hands."

This time, even Gwen Stacy didn't voice any objections to Mark's words.

"Ding! Arriving at Osborn Industries Station. Please exit in an orderly manner."

"Ding! Arriving at Osborn Industries Station."

Before Andrew Spider could make his decision, the subway came to a halt.

The three of them got up from their seats and left the subway.

Once out of the subway entrance, the towering Osborn Industries building came into view, spanning several dozen stories.

As a behemoth corporation with a market value exceeding $200 billion, Osborn Industries provided electricity for the entire New York City. Having a direct subway station wasn't surprising.

Subsequently, the three went their separate ways.

Since neither Mark nor Andrew Spider had Osborn Group identity cards, they couldn't enter openly.

Gwen Stacy was different; being an intern there, she had the freedom to come and go.

Thus, Gwen Stacy entered the building to create the serum for the anti-Lizard gene.

Mark and Andrew Spider positioned themselves on opposite sides of Osborn Industries, quietly awaiting the Lizard Doctor's arrival.

The waiting lasted a couple of hours.

As Mark just looked at an open space due to boredom, Andrew Spider, equally bored, approached him stealthily.

"Mark."

"Hmm? What?"

"I want to ask you something."

"What's on your mind? Go ahead."

"Do you know about my parents?"

"I do."

"Well," Andrew Spider's face was filled with conflict and yearning.

Mark straightforwardly said, "If you want to know, I can tell you. But are you prepared to lose something in the process?"

After a moment of hesitation, Andrew Spider asked, "Is it related to Osborn?"

Mark raised an eyebrow. "It seems like you already have some guesses of your own?"

"Yes," Andrew Spider nodded, "My father used to work for Osborn Industries and left behind the "Zero Decay Rate Formula." It indicates that he made groundbreaking progress in interspecies genetic transfer technology. But considering Dr. Connors' situation, this technology has significant flaws, so he chose to conceal it and escape, and in the end..."

"You guessed right," Mark nodded, confirming Andrew Spider's speculation. "Your parents, Richard Parker and Mary Parker, discovered the flaws in interspecies genetic transfer technology. That's why they chose to conceal their experimental results. They decided to leave, taking the danger away from you. But on the plane, they were infiltrated by assassins and met a tragic end."

"Assassins... from Osborn?" Andrew Spider's voice trembled.

Norman Osborn's son, Harry Osborn, had once been his close friend.

Now, the father of his friend might have become the one who killed his own father.

Even though he had already seen his "future" in the previous videos, seen how Harry would transform into a monster referred to as the Green Goblin by Mark, seeking revenge against him.

Knowing this information still left Andrew Spider momentarily bewildered.

He had been contemplating many things in the past hour.

Coming to Mark was his attempt to understand the conflict between him and Harry and find a way to resolve it, perhaps eliminating the source of danger to Gwen's life from the outset.

But now, he was torn.

Seeing his dilemma, Mark decided to lay out the conflict between him and Harry.

"Harry wanted to use a successful case of interspecies genetic transfer from Spider-Man to develop a cure for their family's hereditary disease. Would you be willing to give him your blood for research?"

Andrew Spider shook his head. "The flaws in this technology are too significant. The consequences could be irreversible."

"In that case, it's inevitable that conflicts will arise between you two," Mark shrugged.

Although the movie mentioned that Andrew Spider successfully underwent interspecies genetic modification without becoming a Spider-Monster due to Richard Parker using their family's blood for research, that reason seemed too far-fetched.

There should have been other reasons for Peter Parker becoming Spider-Man.

"Ah!" Andrew Spider sighed, his face twisted in frustration.

Rat-a-tat-tat—

Gunfire suddenly resounded in the distance.

Both of them talking were startled.

The Lizard Doctor had arrived!
