Flashback Chapter

[5 years ago | On the streets of Queens | Peter's POV]
>Wuff< >Wuff< >Wuff<
"Ahhh! Help!!!" I screamed as I ran away from three big dogs that were chasing me down the streets of Queens.
>Huff< >Huff< >Huff<
'I- can't run any further!' I exclaimed in my head as I started to slow down.
>rustle< >rustle< >swoosh<
"Ahh-"
"psst" As I tried to scream in surprise as I was pulled into a bush, I felt someone put a hand above my mouth, silencing me.
>WUFF< >Wuff< >wuff<
"Phew"
Hearing the bark of the dogs getting quieter as they distanced themself from me, I let out a sigh of relief.
'Hold up! Wait a minute. Something isn't right here...' I thought as I turned my head around bit by bit, my stranger danger senses on high alert.
"Wm arm yom¿" I asked, looking at a black-haired boy with brown eyes, before noticing that my mouth was blocked.
"Oh... Sorry!" He said apologetically, scratching the back of his head.
"Hi, my name is David! What is yours?" He asked while giving me a bright smile, reaching out his hand
"He- Hello my name is Pe-"
"So... Why were these dogs chasing you?" He asked, interrupting my introduction, raising his eyebrow.
"Ehmm... I- don't know..." I answered while avoiding eye contact, not wanting to be caught lying.
".... Ok!" He answered as he started pulling my hand, wanting me to go with him.
"Sweety you already back?... Who is that?" A woman, most likely his mother, questioned as we ran in her direction.
"That's Pe... What is your name again?" He asked me.
"I am Peter!" I responded hastily.
"That's Peter!" He said as if he figured it out all by himself.
"Well hello, Peter! Where are your parents?" She asked as she looked around.
"I don't know where they are! I- I was on the bus and an old lady lost her purse. I wanted to give it to her and started to walk to the doors... but I must have tripped and fallen out of the open bus doors..." As these words started to gush out of me I felt how tears build in my eyes.
"As I ran after the bus to get it to hold. I tripped on a dog's tail and fell onto the ground. Then they started chasing me through the streets." >sob< I ended my speech as I started crying.
"Hey, hey no need to cry. I know! How about we call your aunt and uncle here so that they can pick you up?" She asked, taking out her phone.
"Ok... The number is-"

[A little later]
"Peter!" "Peter!"
My aunt and uncle gave me a hug as they called out my name.
"Thank you for contacting us." My aunt said with tears in her eyes.
"No problem! I just did what I should do." Ms. Thompson, as I got to know from the call, said as she waved her hand.
"Young man you got us worried!" My aunt yelled at me as she hugged me tighter.
"I am sorry..." I said with a sad voice as I thought back to the way I got here.
"But it isn't his fault!" David screamed as he walked to us.
"He tried to give a lady her wallet back but tripped and fell out of the bus-"
"David Ken Thompson! You better hold your mouth now! I am sorry for his behavior." Before he could finish his thought, his mom interrupted him.
"..." He closed his mouth faster than I could realize and looked at me with eyes that seemed to say that I was on my own now.
"Hahaha! Now there is no need to be sorry for him telling the truth. If what he said is true, then I am proud of you Peter, but you are still too young to help people in this way." Uncle Ben said as he looked me in the eyes.
"For now you just need to know, that you are the priority and must be protected. But when you are older and stronger, in one way or another, then and only then do you have the responsibility to protect those weaker than you." My uncle Ben said as he looked me deep in the eyes, wanting to make sure that I understood what he meant.
"Understood..." I said with a downcast face.
"Good."

[1 month later]
"You really think it is okay?" I whispered to David as I looked at the teacher's seat.
"No... But it is going to be funny nothing less." He whispered back as we heard the teacher enter.
>pffft<
'Phase one: success.' I thought to myself as my eyes were glued to the teacher.
"Hahaha!"
"He farted!"
"Am I the only one who thinks it smells weird here?"
"Really funny guys!" He said as he stood up to remove the fart pillow.
>rip< >splash<
"Hahaha!"
"He pissed himself!"
His fast removal of the farting pillow caused the string to rip, making a bucket full of expired cafeteria milk spill on his head.
"Who was that!" He said as he rushed to the sink.
'Phase two: success' I thought as I saw him turn on the tap.
>rumble< >rumble< < p>
"He?"
>boom<
"Hahaha!"
"Is that the mystery food from yesterday?"
"I hope so!"
After he turned on the sink, the brown balloon inside of it exploded as the water touched it, making its substance spread on his upper body.
"The class ends... NOW!" He screamed rushing out of the room
'Finale Phase: success!' >Phew< I let out a sigh of relief after seeing our plan play out perfectly.
