Chapter 48

(Third Person's PoV)

Harry paused the video, he couldn't do it, he couldn't listen anymore to what they were saying, all he knew was that he had to get out of there no matter what.

His father killed his best friend's parents, surely Peter hated him, he had to there is just no other explanation.

Harry stood up and grabbed his bag and started walking towards the door. When he got there he tried to twist the doorknob but it wouldn't budge.

'Shit' Harry thought while slamming his shoulder on the door but it wouldn't budge until he heard a voice behind him.

"Escaping is futile Harry Osborn" Arnny said, replacing the Live stream of Peter and Gwen.

Harry turned around frightened, he pressed his back against the door trying to create as much distance between Arnny and him.

"Are you the reason the doors are not opening?" Harry asked with a bit of edge in his tone of voice.

"That's right" Arnny said, her holographic face expressing a smile.

"Why? Please just let me leave okay, I won't bother Peter ever again okay, hell I'll even change school, so please let me go."

Arnny stayed silent, before unexpectedly releasing a sigh…

Which just freaked out Harry even more.

"... I see why humans sigh now, it's a great tension reliever" Arnny said before continuing "Don't misunderstand Harry Osborn. The reason I'm preventing you from leaving is to fix the misunderstanding"

"Misunderstanding? What Misunderstanding, you mean the one where my father killed Peter's mom and dad" Harry said sarcastically.

"No, I'm talking about the misunderstanding where you believe your entire friendship with Father has been a lie"

"So you watched all that huh?" Harry asked with a weary expression

"Well I wouldn't exactly call your panic attack something silent and easy to ignore" Arnny sarcastically said.

'Great, I'm being made fun of by an A.I, my life couldn't be any better' Harry thought irritatingly.

"Just what is there to misunderstand, My Father killed his parents and he hates me, what's there to not understand"

"Maybe if you stopped talking and sit down and finish the video, then maybe you would understand" Arnny said slightly annoyed with him now

Harry's cheek grew red from embarrassment and grumbled as he made his way back to the chair in front of the big monitor. He laid down his backpack on the ground next to it and sat down with a sigh.

Arnny just looked at him and said "If I had eyes I would be rolling them at you at this moment"

"Geez thanks a lot" Harry said sarcastically as he used the mouse to move the video to the big monitor.

Before resuming the video Harry grew nervous, so he decided to stall for time, he doesn't know for what, but he was too nervous to care

"Why didn't you stop me from watching the video, isn't that supposed to be something private"

"Because I wasn't programmed to, I was programmed to follow all of my creators wishes, my Father/Creator didn't say to stop you from going through the archives, and he didn't put a password on the files…" Arnny explained

"But aren't you supposed to assume and make guesses on what Peter would like you to do?"

"No, I wasn't programmed to. Making assumptions goes against everything I've been programmed to do. What if I make a mistake and assume something wrong and make father unhappy… that would be the last thing I would want.

So I follow whatever Father says and only what Father says, nothing else matters, only Father's decisions matter."

"Okay" Harry says 'I shouldn't have asked that, what the hell just happened'

Harry then sighed and pressed play on the video and closed his eyes prepared to hear the worst.

With his eyes closed Harry heard Peter's voice "Why do you think I stop you from interning there at every chance we get"

'I see, I thought it was weird that she didn't, she previously said she was looking for a place to intern but didn't go to Oscorp, it was the perfect place for her to go to as well… so Peter stopped her

it makes sense, I wouldn't want someone close to me to be anywhere near the person that killed my parent's as well…'

Harry thought before slowly peeking and squinting his eyes.

Harry saw Gwen looked shocked at what Peter said, she then went and asked the question Harry dreaded to hear.

"So you mean to say that Norman Osborn killed your mom and dad..... but aren't you friends with Harry?"

Harry unconsciously started clenching his fist. He stared at the screen looking expectantly at the screen, even though he was scared to know what Peter was going to say, he gained hope.

Arnny's words early gave him hope, why did she say it was all a misunderstanding? Maybe Peter didn't hate him.

Harry saw Peter just shrugged his shoulder "I tried to hate him honestly, I really did, but I can't really blame him for something his father did, that just seems stupid"

Harry looked at the screen in shock as it paused on its own, probably due to Arnny. Harry felt all the tension leave his body as he leaned back on the chair he was sitting on.

"So it really was a misunderstanding on my part" Harry whispered to himself.

"Told you so" Arnny said sassily

"Yes, yes, you wise ultra intelligent A.I" Harry sarcastically said while rolling his eyes.

"As Long as you know" Arnny said while appearing on the screen nodding her holographic head.

Harry just shook his head and grabbed his bag and stood up to leave and as he put a hand on the doorknob he turned towards Arnny and asked

"Can I leave now?"

"I'm not stopping you" Arnny said

Harry scoffed 'Why do I feel like if she had shoulders she would be shrugging them.'

Harry then turned the doorknob and opened the door which caused him to let out a sigh of relief.

"I guess I'll see you later, oh can you not tell Peter that I know what happened. I have a lot to think about, I want our relationship to stay how it was without becoming awkward."

"I will not say anything if Father doesn't ask, but If Father asks me I'm telling right away." Arnny voiced out.

Harry just shrugged his shoulders "Works for me" and left the room as he closed the door.

As Harry closed the door he then pumped his fist 'So my friendship with them wasn't a lie'

Arnny's voice then resounded out from the speakers outside

"I can still see you"

Which caused Harry to grow red in the face and start power walking out of there, he got on the bike he came here with and rode away quickly feeling extremely embarrassed…
