Chapter 1 introductions

Soraya finally landed and was heading to zara place in englewood where she resided with her fiancée Erik. Zara was fortunate to meet Erik and they were both planning to spend their lives together. Soraya was exhausted from traveling from NYC but she would never have missed her best friends wedding.

As Soraya looked through the window of the car she noticed englewood was extremely beautiful and surrounded by extraordinary redwood. Finally they turned into a private drive way and it took them 5min to see the house zara shared with Erik. It was magnificent and fit for a princess. Soraya was excited to explore the new home her friend will be living in. Zara was already standing outside and waiting for her bff and she started hopping when she saw Soraya get out of the car. Soraya! Zara squealed! Soraya ran to her friend and gave her a tight hug, I have missed you my friend she whispered in zara ear. Zara teared up and said I have missed you as well sister. Zara helped Soraya with her luggage and told her she will be staying in a guest room in the second floor. She told her that they will be holding pre wedding events at a venue close by and the wedding will be held at a resort nearby. Zara didn't want a big wedding but Erik wanted it to be a special day so they compromised it to be on his family's resort. Soraya came right in time because they were planning to hold a welcome dinner for everyone that was coming into town for the wedding.

Soraya was a Petite woman had dark brown hairs and light brown eyes that had a glimmer of green when she was excited. Zara was blonde and had blue eyes and a taller build the her friend. They met in college where they lived together and experienced different life challenges with each other.

I can't wait for you to meet Erik, he's at the company but will be home soon! Soraya was anxious to finally meet Erik and hopefully he was a good person and a good partner to her precious friend. Erik was the CEO of Microverse a company the made micro chips for different industries and they are leading company in the chip Industry. Zara where are you? A deep male voice sounded from the first floor. I'm up on the second floor zara shouted, when Erik entered the guest room Soraya was taken back with Erik warm smile and welcoming energy. Welcome to our home Soraya, zara has told me about you and iam so happy to hear that she had a great friend for many years. Erik, zara and Soraya had a great chat and decided to get ready for the welcoming party and where Soraya will be introduced to family and friends.

A couple hours later, Soraya was waking into a steak house with Erik and zara. As Erik and zara were introducing her Soraya felt that Zara was marrying into a upper class social circle that had were rigid and cold. They all had cold smiles and when they asked what she did Soraya told them she worked for various NGO who helped children who lost families during wars in their country. Soraya and zara are both orphans and that was the first thing that made them connect. Soraya foster mother was amazing but Zara had terrible ones and ran away from home often. Soraya because of the love and support from her foster mother and her love for traveling she works various NGO to take care of children and protect them from exploitation and human trafficking. Especially during civil wars and dangerous time Soraya is called to for her expertise in dealing with locals and protecting the orphans from harm. As Soraya was introduced to these pretentious people and wondered if zara really liked them she was then introduced to Lucas wolfson. He was tall and had a chiseled face with intense dark eyes, I quickly remembered where I heard his name from he the ceo of wolfson enterprise. I withdraw my hand quickly when I realize many of the children I work with have been orphaned because of this man's company that produces terrible weapons. Lucas notices the change in Soraya expression and noticed when she snatched back her hand from his grip. Interesting most women lingered and wanted to fawn over him but this women couldn't wait to get away. Soraya quickly excused herself and told the couple she needed the rest room.

Dinner continued Soraya had a pleasant time and a avoided looking at Lucas even thought she felt his stare and when she looked up she saw him looking at her with a small ghost smile. She looked backed and anger quickly filled her. Lucas wolfson sits and enjoys dinner, people are being killed from his weapons. Soraya draws her eyes and feels disgusted to be in the same room as a murder.

Lucas was sure Soraya disliked him but cant understand why, he's never met her. He's attracted by her, she is refreshing and doesn't have the predatory smile the others have. She has gentle smile and big and smiling eyes. When he touched her hand before he enjoyed feeling her touch and wanted more. Lucas usually abhors touching and avoids being around many people but Soraya has made him crave her touch and couldn't help to look at her. He enjoyed the way she ate and how here eyes lit up when a dish was delicious. This is the first time in Lucas 31 years where he craved to be around a woman. Erik noticed his friends unusual behavior and could help feel bad for him. What he knows about Soraya from Zara is that she is a humanitarian and would abhor Lucas and his background. He has a feeling that Soraya know about Lucas and that's why she got quiet and left briefly after being introduced to him.
