The News [1]

The village has three parts. First and most importantly, it was the higher district where nobles, officials, and other important people lived. It takes 1/4 of the whole village's map, not because it is small, but because it must be easily secured. The only people who can come here are the said people and other exempted groups.

The second part is the middle district, where commoners, soldiers, trainees, and other civil servants live. This is also where important institutions like the academy and the military training grounds are located. It takes up 1/4 of the map, just like the higher district.

And lastly, the lower district, which has the largest size on the map of the village. It is where servants, slaves, and most of the villagers live. However, even if they have limited privileges, they can still visit the middle district to train, practice, and patronize other businesses. As for the inhabitants of the middle district, they can easily go to the lower district.

However, what is more, important is what Raymond has achieved. It was a life in the middle district, which didn't only mean that his family's worth had increased, but also a much easier life. Even if they have to work in farmlands, they are still supported by General McWorthy.

"That is good news, Raymond!" Hones has a beaming face and a loud exclamation due to uncontrolled excitement.

Raymond immediately hushed him as they were in the practice venue and his students suddenly looked at them confusedly.

Once Hones heard it, he couldn't help but be overjoyed because that news is never a joke for anyone. Imagine having a general as a backer. Who wouldn't be happy with that?

Also, not just a backer, but the general was investing in Raymond, which means the privilege he could get in the future is not one that could be easily undervalued.

"It is good, right? But why are you more elated than me, Sir Hones?" Raymond chuckled as he observed Hones's movements. He did notice it, but even though he knew the reason, it was still best to ask.

"Well, why won't I? I was offered a job earlier, but since I didn't know what to do, I asked for more time."

"Huh? Really? What did they offer?"

Raymond had expected them to recognize and reward Hones as well; after all, he was the one who made the effort to convey Raymond's existence. If not for him, the general wouldn't find a piece of gem in the lower district.

Also, it is not a waste of time to offer a job to Hones since he has the talent to be good personnel.

"They offered me a security-type job. Also, the privilege was great, and the medical assistance was superb. My leg will be healed if I work there." Hones said.

"But why did you not accept it immediately? What are you waiting for? Working as a teacher isn't that beneficial; you are only waiting for your time to be discovered."

Hones exhaled a sigh and said, "Well, I wasn't sure if I should accept it. It was too good to be true, so I'm just making sure I won't fall into a pit. But now that I have heard that news of yours, I should accept this one-in-a-million chance job offer."

"Well, your Talent would be useless if you don't use it. After all, Sense Enhancement is a good talent for security-type jobs." Raymond uttered that made Hones's eyes widen in surprise.

"How did you know that?" He raised his tone a little bit, but not in a negative manner. He was just in disbelief.

"Ah..." Raymond had forgotten to think of what he should say, making him slip his tongue. He forgot that Hones hadn't shared his Talent with him until this day.

ANd making an excuse first, Raymond chuckled awkwardly.

"I heard it from the investigator." Raymond reasoned. And with that, without any other logical idea, Hones sighed and believed Raymond. After all, there should not be any suspicion of Raymond since he is a smart kid."

"I already asked some of my friends to let your father join the hunting group again, but sadly, they can't allow it since it was an order from the higher-ups." Hones, out of nowhere, cut off their previous topic with another one.

Raymond just smiled at him. "It's okay, don't be bothered by it, Sir. I have a solution to that matter that is more beneficial."

"Hmm? If you say so, then I won't be dejected about it." Hones stated awkwardly.

By the time Raymond had arrived back at their home, the news had already reached his family, and when he came into their house, he was instantly flocked by his family.

He was so overwhelmed by their surprised expression that he almost thought of leaving for a second.

"W-Wait! Why are you blocking me?!" Raymond complained.

"Son, why didn't you tell us that you were a genius?" Rudy immediately asked.

"Well, surprise?" Raymond joked, but Lilia pulled his clothes.

"Big bro, some huge men came here and said that we would move to someplace. What does that mean?"

Raymond could only awkwardly give them a smile and move himself to the side. He was really overwhelmed and had no time to explain himself, so the only way was to save some space.

"Wait, stay right there." Raymond declared once he saved a space. "I will explain things slowly, so please let me have some time to do it. Okay? Let me breathe."

His family looked at him with different kinds of helpless gazes, as if waiting for some feeding. Just a little bit, Raymond started talking in an unstable tone.

"Okay. Some men came here. What did they tell you?" Raymond asked.

"Well, they came here saying that we would move to the middle district tomorrow. Also, they said that our quota was reduced by 50 percent. That's all." Rowena explained.

"Then, how did you know that I was a genius?" Raymond asked.

Then, his sisters and mother looked at their father, anticipating some sort of reply.

"Because I deduced it. This won't happen if you are not a genius. After all, your sister told me that she could feel some mana fluctuation in your room. With that, I had thought that maybe you are showing some early signs of your Talent."

Raymond was dumbfounded. He was stunned to discover what his father had just said. Did he just underestimate his family?

"Father, you could become an investigator if you want." Raymond jokingly said.

"Enough with it. It's only common sense. So, explain things to us."

Then, with it, Raymond let out a sigh and sat down on the couch with his family, who were also starting to lend their ears to him attentively.
