It has already been four days since the massive gate, which easily was categorized as an S-rank, appeared in Shinjuku, Japan.
The people living there have already been evacuated for obvious reasons.
After Kamish's attack, this seemed to be the second catastrophe humanity had to face. Another S-rank gate which was appearing in the middle of the city; possibly capable of claiming numerous lives.
The responsibility of the government, and especially, the Japan Hunter Association, elevates even further.
There were numerous things to take into consideration. The neighboring countries have already set up the defense barriers in order to protect themselves. Some countries even hired high-ranking hunters from more developed countries; in case the battles grew out of control.
Now, it all depends on the Association, and how they handle this situation when so many innocent lives are on line.
"What preparations do we have? Against the gate?"
Inside the main office of the Association, some selected people sat around the oval conference table, to discuss the most pressing matter as of now.
The one who asked was none other than the guild leader of the Drawn Sword Guild, and the strongest hunter of the nation—Ryuji Goto.
"All the border security has been scrambled for now and the military is within the city to protect people as much as they could do. Tokyo is entirely guarded by the Hunters and so is Osaka and Yokohama. The national treasure and the guild's private funds are being arranged to hire an S-rank hunter...probably, Yuri Orloff."The Chairman, Matsumoto Shigeo, informed.
This was the biggest crisis Japan had to face yet and as such they were preparing to face anything, that came out of that gate. That was why, despite having Goto, Japan was looking for external aid.
{A/N: It was stated in the manhwa that Goto Ryuji was on par with a National Level hunter so yeah.}
"That barrier specialist? Isn't he missing for some days now?" The only female in the room, Tawata Kanae asked in a curious tone.
It has been since some days of Yuri's disappearance. While it was true that he just got erased from the face of the earth all of a sudden, considering his strength, it was nearly impossible that someone might have kidnapped him.
Of course, if some S-rank hunters teamed up, it was an achievable feat, but as of now, there haven't been any suspicious movements to pinpoint a single target.
"Flash the bone, the dog would sniff it way out to us." The one who commented nonchalantly was the leader of the Sword Drawn guild.
"Then...who is our plan B? I mean, I trust Goto-san's skills, but we must have a backup for him no? We have a team of S-rank hunters, but if something like Kamish pops out of that gate..."
The orange-haired youth, Hoshino Minoru, didn't need to conclude his sentence since everyone understood the core of his concern.
The terror of the Kamish dragon still resides within the consciousness of every hunter to this day. And if something, just on equal strength as that being emerges, then the situation might no longer be in the hands of Japan.
The world might need to interfere.
Just as the room began to turn silent, the person who hadn't said a single word until now, voiced his suggestion,
"How about we take the help from Korea?"
Shigeo raised his brows upon hearing the suggestion from the vice guild master of Drawn Sword guild—Sugimoto Reiji.
Not only the Chairman but the other three were a little taken aback by the suggestions as well,
"By Korea, you mean Sung Jin-Woo and your son, Nanase Haruka right? After all, the other hunters aren't that noteworthy...except for that blond beauty...what was her name again?" As Goto scrunched his brows, Kanae uttered the name, 'Cha Hae-In'.
"But...can't you ask your son directly for the help, Sugimoto-san? Why go through all the legal procedures?" Minoru asked with a confused frown on his face as he leaned back in his seat.
However, it wasn't the person in question who answered, rather, the raven-haired woman beside him,
"Asking for a hunter through personal means could be possible, but recruiting both Hunter Sung and Nanase-kun would be problematic. We have to go through the formal procedure."
Kanae was right on point, which made the atmosphere in the room, a little heavy. While it was true that Japan didn't hold Korea in high regard, and always considered them as inferior, the addition of the two new S-ranked hunters was something they could pay fortunes to hire.
In the end, Matsumoto decided the best for his country, "I will contact, Go Gun-Hee."
*****
It has been a day since Jin-woo returned from the memorable trip with his junior. He attained experience in fighting several foes and also, a useful weapon on the trip.
Jin-Woo didn't ask how Haru was able to jump between worlds and what that white room was, where the time seemed to be flowing at a significantly slow rate.
The time they went to the other world and the time they returned; only half an hour went by.
Jin-Woo didn't ask anything from Haru since he never found the necessity to. And in the first place, Jin-Woo also kept a lot of things secret from him, so it was a fair trade. Mostly.
Arriving at the school where Jinah and Haru study with a destination on his mind, Jin-Woo took a moment to collect his thoughts.
He was going to challenge the double dungeon again and find the whole truth about the system he possesses.
There were many questions Jin-Woo had in mind. Like, why those humanoid monsters were calling him, 'Vessel' and why Jin-Woo understood the tongue of the monsters. Why wasn't he considered a human and why Jin-Woo was selected to have this system?
Numerous questions and only one place to find every answer.
Holding the key in his hand, Jin-Woo stared at the portal erected near the building as some words left his mouth,
"I hope this sorts out everything..."
