"Only soup and congee, my lady." I replied hastily before she could get further angry. She looked at the kid and then at me.
"That meant, this poison was for me. The meal was made for me while he ate it accidentally.'' Why was she feeling regret? It was not like she knew that the meal had poison. It was just an accident. But her tone to blame herself was heartbreaking. I wanted to console her but I did not have the courage to even move an inch and talk to her. Let alone hug her or tell her that she should not feel guilty.
"My lady!" I gathered all my courage and called her, but before I could speak a word further. She stood up abruptly, making me scared again. There was no doubt that I was afraid of her.
