Potentia(DC Superhero Girls)-2

A fucking cartoon universe. I had spent over a decade just working and fearing for the day when there would be a ridiculous doom event that would lead to the whole multiverse being reset and me going into non existence, all to just learn I was in a cartoon universe.

A part of me was relieved, it really was, but the sudden loss of the fear of ultimate end I had been carrying all my life also made me irritated. It would probably pass soon...ish.

Not to mention I had far more pressing issues at hand, like the fact that there was an unconscious Wonder Woman in front of me that was showing no signs of waking up.

"I fucking hate this city." I said with a sigh and scooped her in my arms, it probably would have been very difficult without my powers due to her armor and sword. Then I headed towards one of the beach chairs where I laid her down.

As I waited for her to wake up, I reached deep within myself and pulled upon the energies of the Strength Force. My hands glowed red with power before the light leaped out of my hands and started to form something close to a sword, the kind of thing you would find in a five year old's drawings. Still, it showed that it was possible to make constructs out of Strength Force, I just needed more time.

Time that I did not have yet as I heard the unconscious girl beside me groan and dismissed the construct.

"Good morning." I said with a smile as she stretched her arms over her head before one of her hands went to her forehead.

"Good... morning." She said with a groan before looking at me and all of her tiredness seemed to disappear. "You... you... you..."

"Um, yes, me." I said with a raised eyebrow and then she latched onto my hands.

"You are real!" She practically squealed as she kept gripping my hands with enough force to crush them if I didn't have the Brute package.

"Excuse me?"

"You are real! I really have reached the Man's World after so long!" She cried out with eyes glittering with joy. Which was then ruined by a very loud growl coming from her stomach.

"I'm guessing it was a long journey." I said with a raised eyebrow as she blushed under my gaze and I realized that I was so gonna regret my next decision.

"You wanna get something to eat?"

"A monster!"

"No, that's a car. A vehicle that people use to get from one place to another, like a chariot." I explained with my arm blocking her way. We had managed to get here without much suspicion as I had claimed that we were headed towards a comic con but I was pretty sure that excuse wouldn't fly if Diana actually slashed a car in half with her sword.

"How does it move with no horses?"

"It would take too long to explain properly. Short version is that is uses gas in order to make the wheels turn." I said with a shrug as we finally reached to a fast food joint. Something called Big Belly Burger.

"What kind of eatery is this?"

"It's a fast food joint. They are the kind of small restaurants that prepare meals quickly and tend to be cheap. The only downside is that the food is not too healthy so making it a habit can have less than pleasant results for your body."

"Why would people eat here if the food is not healthy?" She asked with a frown as she tilted her head, looking puzzled about such notion.

"I told you, the food is prepared very quickly and it tends to be delicious and cheap. They are convenient for people who don't have much time to eat or don't want to spend too much money on food." I explained as we entered.

"Two Superbs menus." I told the cashier who only gave one look at Diana's attire before shrugging and noting down our order, guess living in the same city as Superman makes people desensitized with anything that could be considered strange.

"This is delicious, though a bit too fatty." Diana said as she kept taking bites from her burger.

"That's how fast foods tend to be." I said with a nod before crossing my arms over my chest. "So, you're from an island of immortal warrior women?"

"Yes, I am from Themyscira!" She perked up with a smile. "I came to the Man's World in order to spread our mission of peace. It was a mission given to me by gods themselves after I survived the twenty one tests of Athena and Aphrodite!"

"I see." Except for the fact that I was pretty sure Athena and Aphrodite were supposed to hate each other after that whole Troja fiasco. "You might want to keep that part about gods to yourself though. The rest of the world no longer worship the Olympian pantheon, not even Greece." I said bluntly, much to her shock as she stared at me with wide eyes.

"I knew that the world had changed much since the Amazons had made our home in Themyscira, but no longer worshipping the gods? How could such thing come to pass?!"

"There were... several reasons." Like people realizing that praying to a family of psycho and sociopaths that was led by the history's most well known rapist did not get you any brownie points with anyone but I probably should keep that to myself. "The most prominent one being that the world's biggest religion that prays to a single supreme god, one that does not interfere with human lives in an obvious manner anymore."

"Praying to only one god? I... guess that could be simpler for mortals but it sounds too farfetched." She said with a frown. "The world has changed more than I could have ever imagined."

"That's what happens in over a thousand years." I said with a shrug, what else was there to say.

"I thank of you for answering my questions." She said as she bowed her head a little. "But I must go out and see the Man's World myself as well." She declared as she got up.

"I hope that we meet again, Jack Marko." And then she walked out of the door.

Whelp, that hadn't been too bad. I had met Wonder Woman and still had not revealed the fact that I had powers. So I could probably fade into the background for a while and...

...she left me with the bill.

"Does she even have any money with her?"
