Sticking to the shadows, I stuck around near the entrance in case Lise did the unthinkable and actually lured the guard out with her own presence. At best she should just be beside the entrance or even right on top of the walls.
"Lise?" I whispered out into the wind, hoping that it would be enough for my sister to hear. "You there?"
Looking up at the walls, the absence of my sister was making my own anxiety rise as I heard the distant screams of the poor guard we just took out for a loop. Maybe Lise was still out there trying to come up with an entrance strategy while I twiddled with my thumbs like an idiot.
