An Easy First Wave

"Where are you going?"

The hooded man emerged from the smokes, carrying Anna and Rica.

"Oi, oi, are you for real?"

Jake believed the hooded man died from his own attack, but because it was not what he expected, his smile could no longer be described as a smile.

He suddenly came to a realization.

He cast so many fireballs that he may no longer be fit to fight, right?

"Yes, that is right!"

While it is reasonable to assume that Alex would be incapable of fighting after hurling hundreds of fireballs, his presumption is regrettably false.

Unaware of the truth, he attempts to transform into his silver werewolf form, believing that Alex is currently extremely weak.

His human body was no longer capable of fighting, so he used his transformation to attack him.

Why did he decide to attack him rather than flee?

Except for the first reason, the second reason is that this is an opportunity to clean up his mess.

When Alex sees the black cloak man rush to him, he puts down the two females and rushes to protect them from the effects of their battle.

When their fists collided, he flew several meters.

Jake realized that the hooded man had surpassed his current level of power.

Unfortunately, his speed decrease so with the hooded man's magic, he caught him up and smack him to the floor.

His transformation undo and he couldn't move anymore.

Right now, Alex is too angry.

Not only the black cloak man try to kidnapped them, he also try to kill them with his skill.

All of his witness points to fireballs has been used but he still have some witness points to other magic.

This is all of the magic that he witness for the past few days.

His strongest magic that he copies is the Inferno so using half of the witness points, is equal to a hundred fireballs.

With all of his might, he cast the Inferno and pour some of his mana to add more damage.

Meanwhile, Jake wouldn't just sit around and not try to escape.

Unfortunately, his body couldn't move so how can he escape?

He has no answers.

This is the end.— Is something he thought if not for his keen hearing.

Shouts from various locations have been heard throughout the city.

A loud explosion suddenly erupts, and the hooded man begins to notice the noise.

Jake realized he could use his transformation again, so he runs as much as he can when the hooded man hears the noise carefully.

Unfortunately, Alex can not let him go.

Taking out his twin dagger, he uses his magic copy and consumes half of Gale's witness points to blow himself up and accelerate his run.

In an instant, his twin dagger cuts through the black cloak man's head.

"No way...!"

That is the last thing the black cloak man says before he collapses and his head separates from his neck as blood spurts like an open faucet.

Following the incident, Alex fled the scene while carrying the two unconscious females.

Returning to the street near his house, he saw many people fleeing with their belongings.

He stopped a man to ask what was going on, but he did not say anything and pushed him as he ran as if his life was on the line.

He is too perplexed, but he needed to take Anna and Rica to his house first before attempting to figure out what is going on.

When he arrived home, they were still unconscious, so he decided to clean and dress them himself.

While waiting for their consciousness, he looks out the window.

He has no idea what is going on, but he notices that things have calmed down.

Unfortunately, this is only a half truth.

Angelina was successful in killing the majority of the monsters on the front lines.

She is a fighter who primarily uses her magic to strengthen her body.

She does not have an area-of-effect attack, so she is killing the monsters individually.

Unfortunately, she is aware that this is not the end, as a monster wave always consists of at least eight waves.

The first wave is so simple, but she is just one person.

To kill a monster, it needed at least 10 to 15 guards.

As for the guard's leader, he can barely compete with at least four to five monsters on his own.

Along with his blonde hair are his long ears.

Having witnessed the battle of a particular woman, his eyes are gleaming.

"That woman is also quite good. Would she prefer an older man? Nah, I am kidding. Anyway, her status as the most powerful guild leader is not just for show."

A man approaches his back, but despite being aware of his presence, he remains motionless.

Unlike the first man, he has a normal human ear and blonde hair, and their faces are nearly identical.

"Has the first wave ended?"

"Oh, big brother. Yeah, it is already done."

The long-eared man sighs and continues.

"I could not believe they decided to move the attack earlier than we had planned."

"Do not bother to complain. We have no choice but to follow them."

"Yeah… Still, we must enjoy our time, so big brother, do not just fight on the battlefield. Find a woman and play house with her until the orders are over. After all, we can never return here again."

"That is another reason I do not want to be with someone, you idiot!"

He smacked the long-eared man's head.

"Ouch, my head... "

"My head, my ass! Return to the base; you must prepare for the second wave, and the monsters will be released in half an hour. I need to meet somebody."

"Okay!"

And the man leaves.

Since the first wave had already ended, the long-eared man did not complain and returned to the base to prepare for the second wave.
