CHAPTER 6- GLUTTONIAL

It ain't actually. I lost my money after been locked up on the big house. How could I been so stupid, negligence of loosing such precious gift. My flute together with mask is missing damn!! now in the end, I'm finding myself a job. Bankruptcy is now embracing me in humiliation. Non of these happen when those people didn't show up.

And those people who called themselves a virtue just force me to work at the mansion of that fat lady who somehow makes a scandalous scenes on the Oakland tavern.

Maraming sagabal syet. I still haven't fullfill my promises to the king. I stop at the mansion and saw a gardener; cutting the bushes in many shape and sizes. Hedge plays an important role in this area. There's a lot of beautiful flowers too the place is so wide. This is my type of place for relaxation. The serene garden was a perfect spot for doing yoga.

"Want to find a job kid?"

"I'd love too, well you see, is there any vacant?"

The gardener tilted his head and scanned me from head to toe. Then after that. I'm following him from behind. I was a bit surprised for that. He wants me to follow him inside the big mansion without further asking. The place is too majestic, the ambience is so elegant its like i'm living in a palace. Wonder what it felt like to live on these place.

Talked about coquette. This type of designed doesn't suite me. Because coquette literally means a flirtatious woman similarly aesthetic which defined by all things describe feminine. dainty and idyllic. A coquette aesthetic is also know as "dollette" is all about embracing femininity and romanticizing vintage summer styles.

We went to the room and past many maids busy doing their responsibility. They seems to be serious and didn't bothers to glanced me. We stop at the door and he knocked three times.

"Come in" A woman with a soothing voice inside replied

As the door creaks open. I saw a lady folding a lot of silk and put them on a box and after that she put each on a cabinet. I'm roaming my eyes on the room, sunlight poured in through the diaphanous curtains, brightening the room and the air-conditioning is just perfect.

"She's the head of all maids in Gluttonial mansion. Ma'am memphis, this is miss--"

"Uh.. Cris madam" I slightly bowed my head as a sign of respect.

"Asked her if there's any available position for you sadly if you can last long" umalis siya agad pagkatapos at sinara dahan dahan ang pinto. Lumapit ako sa babae at manahan naman itong tumingin habang nagtutupi.

"Morning ma'am I would like--"

Tinapunan niya ako ng gunting pero agad ko naman ito nasalo pero yung kaba ko. Nabigla ako sa ginawa niya. Isang pulgada para matama sa mata ko iyon. "Alright your in, whatta gallant lady"

"God! What's the purposed of throwing this thing?" She nearly killed me!

"My apologies. Working in gluttonial mansion is not just about cleaning and obeying rules kid. I put all the rules in the papers before taking this opportunity. We must protect lady Gluttana at all cost and you seems to be a perfect guards for her not a just a mere maid"

"So lahat ng nagtatarabaho tinatapunan mo ng mga ganitong klaseng bagay? so that's explains what happen earlier to those ladies who were rushing for their lives and stepped on my foot. They wants to find job and you just being a bitch"

"Nope. But I love your attitude kid. Your fit for the job. Actually before you came. I have seen you from my window. I see something hidden behind that innocent face of yours. There's some potential in it... Well without further adieu. Your salary will be 30k - 40k for a week. So you willing?"

Parang tumulo yung laway ko sa narinig ko. "30k to 40k syet yes! Ngayon na agad wag na bukas"

I rapidly shook her hands with so much excite and she accompanied me to the hall where there's a caretaker standing at the front door. Peering suspiciously into my face and check my clothes and after that ma'am memphis left. 

The caretaker gave me a formal suites for bodyguards. I immediately wore it and guided me. And now I'm standing outside the black door. Earlier she left me a few words. But I was too indolent to listen especially obeying some rules.

I shrugged for a second and knock on the door. Since this is my first time I'll be prone to make mistake.  But i'll do what i can. Para lang makabayad sa utang

I knocked on the door and it creaks open at nalanghap ko ang amoy ng pagkain na di ko pa nalalasahan at sa amoy palang parang gusto konang lamunin lahat. My eyes sparkled to see the mountains of food on the table. "WOW!" I became so famished but I swallowed my saliva when I saw people looking at me standing beside the window.

"Move kid the lady is coming!!" Sigaw ng lalake na kakapasok palang at may mga iba ring tao na may dalang pagkain at nilagay ang iba sa lamesa at inutusan silang lahat na lumabas at tanging naiwan lang ay apat na guard na nakita ko nung araw nayon at kasama na ako run. Ilang minuto naman ng bumukas ang pinto at bumungad sakin ang babae. I almost burst into laught but i can't loose this job not now.

I saw her walking like a two years old baby. The guards handed me the napkin and asked me to put it on her collar and i did. Nang makaharap kami. Napadasal na talaga ako ng wala sa oras dahil nagkasala talaga ako. Natatawa ako pucha. Bumalik ako sa pwesto ko at kinagat ang kamay ko at nabigla naman ang iba sa pagsampal ko sa sarili ko.

I saw them holding an umbrella and they handed me one at bigla nila itong binuksan at di pa ako nagsisimula ng magtalsikan sakin ang mga sauce at ibang pagkain ng bigla siyang lumukso sa lamesa. Para umulan ng pagkain sa loob ng room.

Tumabi nalang ako at pati buhok ko may icing at sa mukha naman ketchup. Mukhang basahan rin ako. She burp so loud and heard a cracks on the glass window. The guards close their umbrellas and they rapidly shook their heads at me.

"You need to change asked the head for your clothes. Bilis!"

Tumakbo na ako palabas at nakita ko ang mga itsura ng mga naglilinis sakin at dinumihan ko ang nililinisan nila. Inopen ko ang pinto at napasigaw siya sabay mura pa."Anyari sayo?!"

"Wala. Ask kolang san ako makakaligo"

"Just ask the maid and dalhin mo tong nasa box. Damit mo yan. And also ipalaba mo yan sa labandera okay? Bilisan mo wag kang nag iiwan ng kahit anong mantsa ayaw niya ng marumi"

I left immediately and take a shower. I was so lost because the bathroom is so beautiful. May swimming pool pa sa gitna and a hot spa. Gosh my dream. Ang dami nilang mga shampoo at sabon. Mostly vanilla and honey. Ginamit ko agad ang vanilla at ang sarap niya sa balat at maamoy parang kulang nalang pati langgam susundan ako.

Lumangoy langoy lang ako sa swimming pool at nagbanlaw pagkatapos. Nagmadali rin ako at sinuot na ang damit. Kanina black ngayon puti naman at grey necktie. Nagpossing pa ako sa salamin at parang bagay na bagay sakin ang bagong porma ko ngayon.

Nagtanong naman ako sa kanila kung nasan nayo'ng lady ng mansion at nasa guest room daw siya at di naman siya nag alinlangan na samahan ako at nang makarating na ako mabilis naman akong yumuko at nakauntog ako sa food trolley na kakadaan lang.

"Just get on with it. Hurry!" Sigaw ng isang guard at tumabi nalang ako sa kanya habang nakaupo ang lady na mina-mannicure ang mahaba niyang kuko na kulay majenta.

Medyo naantok ako pero pinigilan kolang. I roamed my eyes on her stuff and there all darn expensive. If I sell one of those of her collection i'll be rich. Kaso wag na muna. A butler gave her a newspaper and she opens them. My eyes widen and I saw my mask was posted on the paper. Gagi naiwan pala yung mask ko nawawala din Ang flute ko darn it. Even if I lost that mask, the flute can summon it. The news are all over town. Kaso di parin nila matukoy kung sino at ano ang itsura ng sinners. Pity haha.

"The sinners get caught or he escaped?" Tanong niya and she has a beautiful voice. All i though she has a terrible one. I judge too much. Sumilip lang ako at pinagalitan ako ng katabi ko.

"Not yet lady. The sinners might just drop it somewhere" sagot ko at sabay naman napalingon sakin ang ibang guards niya at mukhang nakabakas pa ang takot sa mata.

"You dare speaking?"

"I'm sorry my lady. It'll be rude if i didn't answer your question"

"I think there's a little bit insult from your voice.."-said she. I was about to speak but the butler shook his head "But. This sinners hunt sins am i right?"

Nagkatinginan naman kami and they asked me to answer. Why are they so afraid? hay Nako "Yes my lady. But this sinner can't hunt without its mask. Clearly they would see his identity--"

"Can i ask what your name newby"

"I'm cris my lady."

"Ano ba ang ginagawa ng sinner nato?"

"Hindi ko po alam pasensya na pero ang alam ko it hunts criminal all over the place"

"I hope this insolence will be captured before it could mess up everything in the town"

AFTER that we assisted the lady to her bed. And all of them whispering and gossiping something. It made me curious because their eyes are so obvious. I felt a bit uncomfortable with them and one of them ask me to follow him and i did. But i advance myself first. If either his planning to attack me or kill me without anyone noticing. I have trust issues and this help me avoid the possible threat.

We went to the garden and theres a shed near the pond and saw alot of swan in there. Maganda ang garden at naaliw talaga ako sa tanawin. He ask me to sit down and the maid gave us a wine and left after. I didnt move, but my eyes did it for me. Roaming my eyes to the bushes and gave him a normal look.

"I'm about to ask you a few question. Where you from kid?"

"Escavan"

"What town"

"Cirius town. I live with my uncle on the Autumnside apartment" medyo nakahinga ako ng malalim dahil nung dumating kami sa apartment bumungad sa paningin ko ang pangalan na iyon. At natawag ko pang uncle si kuya jaiko. Sorry pero bagay naman para hindi siya maghinala saking pagkatao. His trying to passed my walls.

"What's his job and why do you live with him aside from your parents? Are you orphan or something?"

"I thought your gonna ask me a few question"-He seemingly annoyed with a few guilt. But he hid them with a chuckles and sip on his coffee. I directly watch him while his trying to avoid an eye contact. He might be afraid of I will outlast them. I'm planning to be a ladies favorite I just want that salary. So i can pay those virtues and I'll be free. And be able to hunt down the phantom leader.

"Well kid you can't outsmart us by being the favorite"

Ayun lumabas din. Galing ko talaga. Halata naman kase na parang inggit sila. Sabagay ikaw ba naman matagal sa serbisyo tapos may paepal lang na kukunin yun sayo syempre mashaket. I slightly chuckles and watch my wine and the ice save me. Akala niya siguro tanga ako para hindi ko mahalata na may lason ang inumin. Its a good thing i have trust issues.

"I'm here for the salary. Marami akong utang na dapat bayaran. And also thanks for the drinks, it's highly obvious to put a poison on my drinks. Listen despite of this height of mine doesn't meant I can't knock a grown up man"

I gave him a smile and left him in bland expression. "And by the way I didn't came here to take your spotlight. Ang sweldo ang gusto ko hindi makipag unahan sa inyo"
