Selene wants to give him the kind of reaction she thinks he’s looking for, but she’s more confused than ever. They stop walking and she looks up at him. “I thought I already was your Luna,” she says.
“No, there’s more to being a Luna than just being someone’s mate. Becoming Luna means you recognize me as your one and only mate. I would mark you with a symbol that represents our bond. Once you are marked, the pack will recognize you as their Luna,” he explains. “I won’t do it if you are against it, I just thought it would be a good time to ask.”
Selene thinks about it for a while as they walk in silence. Onyx doesn’t pressure her for an answer, but she can sense he’s tense without one. Finally, she speaks up.
“I would love to be your Luna, Onyx. Just let me be the one to tell you when I’m ready for a mark, okay?” she asks while pulling his arm closer to her.
