Adam tossed and turned in bed, his mind restless and consumed by the unsettling events he had witnessed earlier. The weight of uncertainty gnawed at him, for he was clueless about Sid's whereabouts. After pulling himself out of shock, he realized that Sid was gone.
He sat on his bed, reached for his phone from the bedside table, and dialed a number. The phone rang for a couple of minutes before it was finally picked up.
"Hello, Adam?"
"Mathieu... Are you asleep yet?"
"No. Is something wrong."
"Uh, well..." Adam hesitated a bit. "I have something to tell you. It's about Sid."
The line went quiet for a second and Adam could feel Mathieu's seriousness when he heard him talking about Sid.
