SMT CH.5: New World.

( Ena's POV )

Ryuji: What the hell happened here?

Ann: This isn't real, is it?

The view outside seemed something unbelievable, The sky had turned a disturbing orange color and the city had become a strange desolate land but with random crumbling pieces of our city lying around, That gave the impression that two different worlds had collided with each other.

Ryuji: hey Ena, what's that on your face?

Ena: what?

I took out my phone to see my reflection and I saw a strange tattoo-like mark on my right cheek, I touched the strange mark and at that moment a strange magical symbol appeared on my screen just like the first time I started that strange app.

While we were looking in disbelief at the state of our city, the rest of the students began to get up and for safety our teacher began to evacuate the students, As we walked through the hallways I saw that the building was pretty intact except for all the destroyed windows of course, That made the evacuation relatively calm.

When we went out to the schoolyard, strangely the air felt so clean that I couldn't help but take a deep breath.

I wanted to talk to Io and Aigis but the teachers lined us up by class, at least I could see that they were fine, The students were nervously discussing the recent strange events and the principal came out to calm the students down but no one was convinced with his words, It is obvious that this situation is far above him.

While the director was giving his useless speech my phone started to vibrate and when I took it out of my pocket, a map appeared on the screen, This one showed the school and its surroundings, this was filled with white dots and a handful of blue dots, But what worried me most was a group of red dots approaching quickly, and I'd played enough video games to know that wasn't a good thing.

I pulled Ryuji and Ann to move us to a safer place, I also needed to bring Io and Aigis.

Ann: Ena, what's wrong with you?

Ena: I don't know how to explain this but you have to trust me, we can't stay out here.

Teacher: hey, go back to your places!

I ignored the teacher's shouts because of course in this situation I was not going to listen to those who knew nothing about what was happening, When Aigis saw me move, she approached us and we continued on our way toward Io but before I could reach her the student council president blocked my path.

Mitsuru: Ena, this is not the time to cause trouble.

Ena: listen president, I don't have time to argue with you, I need to get my friends out of danger.

Mitsuru: danger? What do you know about what's happening?

I looked at my phone which showed me that the enemy had arrived, then everyone present turned their gaze towards the entrance when it was sent flying by a powerful gust of wind and then five creatures entered the school grounds, These looked like horses but they had piercing red eyes and goat horns, The creatures looked around as if they were searching for something.

Ena: everyone, walk back to school slowly.

I didn't want to upset the creatures but that was useless when the rest of the students started screaming and running like chickens with their heads cut off, Immediately one of the creatures made a run at the students, specifically to Io who was paralyzed with fear, This was the same as the night before and of course, I ran to save her but the enemy was faster this time, I was able to push Io out of the way but I was completely hit and sent crashing into the school stone fence.

I think my friends were shouting my name but I was in too bad a state to hear them, I couldn't move but my vision was fine, All the creatures moved towards me, I was the one they were looking for.

I thought this was the end for me but I still tried to get up with all my strength and at that moment I felt a burning sensation on my face, That sensation spread to my eye and right arm, and suddenly I could move my body again, not only that I could feel a surge of energy inside me, I felt like I could fight these creatures.

When I got up Ryuji tried to run to my rescue but that was dangerous.

Ena: stay away! Take the others inside the school.

Ryuji: Man, what are you saying?

Ena: These things are after me, I'm going to lead them away from here.

Ryuji: There's no way I'm letting you do that alone.

Ena: I'm sorry but you'll have to do it.

Without waiting for an answer I tried to climb the fence and to my surprise I was able to jump over it with a single leap, my body was better than ever, I ran at full speed and as I expected the creatures started a chase, I tried to get as far away as I could but it didn't take long for them to catch up with me, I didn't know where to run because the terrain was completely new to me, so I turned around and faced the creatures, One of them made a lunge and I jumped sideways, avoiding his attack, Then I hit him on the head with all my strength and managed to knock him to the ground.

Yeah! I can fight these creatures, after seeing their partner fall the rest of the creatures ran towards me, I was able to dodge three attacks in a row but the last one landed his attack, My body didn't take as much damage as before but I rolled down a hill but at least when I finished rolling I had a few seconds to make a plan of attack and when my eyes landed on a patrol car, a huge smile formed on my face.

Ena: perfect, just what I needed.
