I struggled to regain control of my body, my eyes closed tight as I called out for Uriel in desperation. Just as all hope seemed lost, a firm hand grasped my shirt, yanking me off Chris and giving him a chance to gasp for air. I opened my eyes to see Uriel standing over me, his expression a mix of concern and determination.
"Uriel!" I exclaimed, relief washing over me.
"I'm here, Daniel," Uriel replied, his voice calm and reassuring. "I've got you."
It seemed for a moment that the near-death experience had brought Chris back, but then his eyes clouded over, and he whispered, "Please, save me," in a chilling tone. He snapped back into Belzebub's sinister control, his body rising from the ground.
Belzebub sneered at Uriel, "It looks like you got a guardian angel. Hey, Uriel, tell me if you feel okay now. I drained you off your power as a last resort, but now I think you're ready to be drained again."
Uriel's eyes narrowed, stretched his hands ,clenched his fist, telepathically lifted Belzebub up and put him in a choke hold while saying,"Try that again, and..."
Belzebub cut in, his grin twisted. "You'll kill Chris? Or have you forgotten I possess his body? Don't worry, though, Daniel is way ahead of you."
My blood boiled at the devil's words, and I collapsed to my knees, overcome by a debilitating headache. Coughing up blood, I felt my veins inflaming as Belzebub revealed the devastating consequence of my deal,
"Yeah, I forgot to add that Daniel is probably going to die if he doesn't go through with my deal."
Uriel turned to me, shock and disgust etched on his face. "You made a deal with this devil?"
I struggled to explain, my voice weak. "I didn't know... it was the only way to save Deli."
Uriel's expression turned cold, his voice laced with disappointment. "Too bad for you, Belzebub. Nothing will happen as long as I'm here."
Belzebub's laughter sent chills down my spine as he goaded Uriel. "Oh, but your presence makes it even more interesting."
I suddenly felt my brain literally being fried as the pain descended me into madness. I lunged at the levitating Chris, obviously going for a kill.
Uriel telepathically tossed Chris away into some ruble while grasping me as I struggled to break free from his arms. I fell into an almost demonic state of being, with one goal in mind: killing Chris.
Belzebub rose from the rumble and began chanting the spell again, forcing Uriel to multitask. He used one hand to grab me and used the other to telepathically shut Belzebub up, keeping him frozen and unable to move as he levitated slightly.
"Shut up, Belzebub!" Uriel shouted, his voice piercing through the chaos.
I thrashed about, consumed by a feral fury, as Uriel fought to save me and Chris from Belzebub's clutches. The outcome hung in the balance, as I struggled to regain control of my body and mind.
As the battle raged on, Uriel tightened his grip on me, his telepathic hold strengthening as he tried to keep me from surrendering to Belzebub's manipulation. But the influence of Belzebub's devil blood rushing through my veins was relentless, wearing me down with every passing moment.
I had snarled and thrashed, my body contorting in ways that had seemed impossible, as I had tried to break free from Uriel's grasp. My mind had been a jumble of feral thoughts, driven by a singular desire to destroy.
Chris's terrified gaze locked onto mine, and for a moment, I had seen a glimmer of recognition again. But it had quickly been extinguished, replaced by a savage hunger to tear him apart.
Uriel grunted, his muscles straining as he struggled to maintain his hold. "Daniel, no! Don't give in!"
But I was beyond reason. With a feral scream, I managed to break free.I lunged forward, my body twisting and contorting in ways that seemed inhuman. Uriel's grip had faltered, and for a moment, I was set free. I launched myself at Chris, my hands extended like claws.
Uriel reacted swiftly, grabbing me and slamming me into the ground. He had pinned me down, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination. "I won't let you harm him, Chris.Daniel snap out of it!!!"
But it was too late.I was Belzebub's blood and as long as his blood pumped through my veins,it's power surged through me, engulfing me in it's dark embrace.
I felt my soul being pulled towards the shadows, My desperate cry echoing in my mind as everything suddenly went black.
Belzebub's voice echoed in my mind, his words dripping with malice. "You can't resist forever, Daniel. Soon, you'll embrace your true nature, and Chris will be as good as dead."
Uriel was slowly crumbling under the pressure of being forced to multitask, using one hand to restrain me while using the other to telepathically disrupt Belzebub's chanting.
The devil's eyes flashed with anger as he realized his spell had been interrupted again. He snarled, his voice dripping with venom. "You think you can stop me, Uriel? You are only delaying the inevitable!"
The struggle raged on, the outcome hanging in the balance.Could Uriel be able to keep me from succumbing to the devil's influence?
Or would Belzebub's power be proved too strong, condemning me to a fate worse than death? The darkness was closing in, and I knew I was running out of time.
Uriel's eyes blazed with a fierce determination as he declared, "I've had enough of being at your mercy, Belzebub. It's time to turn the tables."
With a sudden burst of speed, Uriel released me, and I lunged at Chris, my feral instincts taking over. But Uriel wasn't trying to stop me; instead, he was using me as a distraction.
Belzebub's eyes widened in surprise as Uriel revealed his true intention.
"You think you can control Daniel?" Uriel sneered. "I'll show you what true power looks like."
Belzebub suddenly turned to flee out of the house and onto the road as Uriel's heavenly aura flared to life, illuminating the dark room with an intense light. His Saber began to materialize, its blade shimmering with an otherworldly energy.
With a speed that belied his massive frame, Uriel charged after Belzebub, quickly closing the distance between them. I was left stumbling behind, my feral state confused and disoriented by the sudden turn of events.
But Uriel was relentless, his focus fixed on extracting Belzebub from Chris's body. As he gained on the fleeing devil, his Saber at the ready, I knew that the battle was far from over. The outcome would depend on who could claim the upper hand in this high-stakes game of cat and mouse.
The road was bathed in an eerie silence, the only sound the thunderous footsteps of Uriel as he closed in on his prey. Belzebub's terrified gaze darted wildly about, searching for an escape route, but Uriel was unforgiving.
With a final burst of speed, Uriel reached out, his hand grasping for Belzebub's shoulder. The devil let out a blood-curdling scream as Uriel was about to rip him out of Chris's body. His Saber flashed downward, ready to strike the final blow afterwards.
