The Engagement Agreement

Huo Man still wore the crumpled white dress. It didn't look like an expensive item, but it was as pure as white paper.

However, her gaze was not pure at all. Instead, it was as firm and sharp as a cheetah's.

Shen Bei became more and more interested in her. He could not help but want to see through her heart and know what she had experienced and what she was thinking.

"Please take a seat." Shen Bei said to Huo Man politely.

Huo Man did not stand on ceremony. She sat down on the chair opposite Shen Bei and took out a stack of documents from her bag. She went straight to the point. 

"I'm here to sign this document. If there's no problem, please sign it."

Shen Bei glanced at the document and saw the words "engagement agreement" written on it.

He picked up the document and glanced at its contents, then suddenly laughed.

What was the difference between this agreement and a slave contract?

It was supposed to be a marriage alliance, but Huo Man was using 15% of the Huo group's shares to buy his marriage for a year.

Shen Bei had seen many women who wanted to marry him, but he had never seen a woman like Huo Man who treated his marriage as a business.

"What's the meaning of this?" 

Shen Bei stopped smiling and his face turned cold. The way he looked at Huo Man was no longer calm, and the study room suddenly became colder.

"Young master Shen." Huo Man smiled.

"I just want you to cooperate with me and help me get the Huo family's assets."

"I think 15% of the Huo family's shares should be a lot. We don't have any feelings for each other, so why should we walk into the grave of marriage? It's better to take what we need."

Huo Man was honest and explained her intentions clearly to Shen Bei.

Shen Bei had already expected her to mean this, but for some reason, he was a little unhappy when he heard her say it.

"What if I don't agree?" Shen Bei squinted his eyes.

Huo Man had expected this to happen. She was not surprised at all. Her expression was still cold. 

"You'll agree."

Shen Bei scoffed coldly at the woman. Where did she get the courage to say such things to him?

"Then I'll wait for you to make me agree." Shen Bei leaned back in his chair and played a game with Huo Man.

Huo man did not continue to argue with him. She nodded, stood up, and left the study.

Looking at Huo Man's back, Shen Bei couldn't help but look forward to meeting her again.

The next day, the entire Huo family was busy.

It was a big day for Huo Cheng. A Big Shot in the field of artificial intelligence had returned to China with new technology and had organized a special banquet. Huo Cheng really wanted to cooperate with this scientist. It was not easy to get an invitation, and he had been waiting to see him.

"At today's banquet, you must not cause any trouble for me. Whether or not we can cooperate with Mr. Chen Tao depends on what happens today." 

Huo Cheng didn't forget to remind his wife and children, for fear that his family would embarrass him.

Just as the family was about to set off, Huo Man, who was wearing a white shirt and jeans, appeared.

"You're going to Mr. Chen Tao's place?" Huo Man raised her eyebrows and looked at them with interest.

"Country bumpkin, do you know who Mr. Chen Tao is? If you say his name, you're tarnishing his reputation!" Huo Yan said in disdain.

"Do you know who he is? Do you know the contributions he has made? Huo Yan, as a pretty face, you should stop talking."

"You!" Huo Yan clenched her fists and tried to argue, but she didn't know how to.

Huo Man was right. She didn't know what outstanding contributions Chen Tao had made. She only knew that there was a banquet, and she could compete with him at the banquet.

"What are you doing, Huo Man?" Huo Cheng stared at Huo Man and asked.

"I'm going too." Huo Man ran her fingers through her hair.

"You're going too?" The four members of the Huo family shouted in unison.

A country bumpkin dared to attend Chen Tao's banquet?

What kind of dream was she having?

"Huo Man, you're dressed so shabbily. You might not even be able to get into Mr. Chen Tao's house." Huo Yan sneered at Huo Man's plain clothes.
